Yuri is beginning to truly mature... This is one of the aspects that remained in my mind since my initial reading. I simply didn't recall it taking such a long time. And Nakia is still present. In fact, this series doesn't necessarily require a villain to drive the events forward (although someone in the comments somewhere pointed out that Nakia and Urhi actually have more human flaws than our heroes, which is a valid observation). I would be completely content with just watching Yuri, Kail, and their group navigate life in ancient the Middle East. This is one of the reasons why I would really love to see Shinohara-sensei's series about Hurrem/Roxelana translated. The historical Hurrem was a force to be reckoned with on her own, so I'm eager to see how she portrays that story. (I have the sense that Viz has moved away from these types of series, unfortunately :-( )
