This was absolutely hilarious!

I truly love the fact that the characters in this manga never smile and there are no chibis. Yet, despite this, they manage to get themselves into the most outrageously ridiculous situations. It's all very tongue-in-cheek and plays with the readers' expectations in the most entertaining way.

From the very beginning, this manga was great, and I really appreciate that. The story hooks you right away and keeps you engaged with its unique style and humor. What's more, the humor has been translated extremely well, which is no small feat. It really comes across as funny and charming in the English version, just as it must have been in the original language.

Overall, this manga is a real gem and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good laugh and an entertaining read.

I would have loved it a bit more if the main character didn't break character every now and again.

It really disrupted the flow of the story for me. When a character is supposed to be consistent in their actions, thoughts, and behaviors, but then suddenly does something out of character, it can be quite jarring.

It makes it difficult for the reader to fully invest in the story and believe in the characters.

I understand that sometimes there may be a reason for a character to act differently, perhaps to show growth or a change in circumstances. However, it should be done in a way that feels natural and not forced.

If the author had found a more seamless way to incorporate these changes, I think the story would have been even more engaging and enjoyable.

Overall, I still liked the story, but this one aspect did prevent me from loving it completely.

The most important piece of literature in 10 generations is a topic that sparks intense debate and speculation.

Literature has the power to shape our thoughts, emotions, and perspectives, and throughout history, certain works have had a profound and lasting impact.

Some might argue that it could be a classic novel like "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, which explores themes of love, class, and society with such elegance and wit.

Others might point to a revolutionary play like "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare, which delves into the complex nature of human existence and the struggles of the individual.

Or perhaps it could be a modern masterpiece like "1984" by George Orwell, which warns of the dangers of totalitarianism and the loss of individual freedom.

The possibilities are endless, and the answer may vary depending on one's personal interests, cultural background, and historical context.

However, one thing is certain: the most important piece of literature in 10 generations is likely to be a work that challenges our assumptions, makes us think deeply about the human condition, and leaves a lasting impression on our collective consciousness.

An absurdist comedy unfolds as a so-called "normal" high school boy, and by "normal" I'm using the term rather liberally here, steps into a public school. This school is a wild place, filled with hard-core juvenile delinquents. But that's not all! There's also a robot, a gorilla, and a virtually mute pro-wrestler look-alike who goes by the name "Freddie". It's a chaotic and crazy environment that the poor "normal" boy has to navigate.

Fans of School Rumble and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya might just find themselves drawn to this unique series. The combination of absurd characters and situations creates a comical and entertaining experience. It's a world where the unexpected is the norm, and viewers are sure to be kept on their toes as they follow the adventures of the "normal" boy in this crazy school.

Cromartie High School is a truly unique and hilarious take on the traditional school story.

Set in Japan's most thuggish high school, which interestingly wasn't named after former baseball player Warren Cromartie (who sued over the series name), this place is filled with the most absurd and entertaining characters.

The central character, Takashi Kamiyama, has a noble yet misguided reason for being there. He applied just to be with his childhood friend and prevent him from being lonely. However, his friend's stupidity led to him not even getting into the school, leaving Takashi stuck in a world of strongest-man contests, a Freddie Mercury look-alike, a gorilla, a robot, and much more.

The manga version of Cromartie High School has its own charm. In some ways, it's even funnier than the anime as it allows for more complex and weird jokes. Although, without the anime, you miss out on the sound effects for Mohawk's hair.

Part of the humor lies in the fact that the characters themselves see nothing strange about their surreal surroundings.

Think of it as a crazy combination of Welcome Back Kotter and Mork and Mindy in a Japanese high school. While this comparison might not fully explain the chaos, it gives you an idea of the wacky and wonderful world that Cromartie High School is. And there's still more to discover, like the mystery surrounding Mechazawa, but that's a secret that nobody wants to reveal for fear of embarrassing him.

Random, in the extremely specific early 21st-century sense of the word - gorillas showing up in unexpected places, men donning dresses, and vicious gang leaders with hidden feminine sides, and so forth.

The chapters are only 6 pages long, following a pattern of setup and gag, setup and gag, repeated hundreds of times. Moreover, he is not very proficient in drawing movements. And most of the characters are rather similar - gullible, talkative, pedantic, and loveable thugs. (Maeda is sensible and thus so burdened by the crazy logic of the comedy world.)

However, it is actually quite funny, truly deserving its fourth wall violation and silly non sequiturs. Half of the comedy might lie in how deadpan everyone is. I have no knowledge whatsoever about the genre it is parodying, yet I still adored it. It's a unique and entertaining piece that manages to bring laughter despite its somewhat formulaic structure and similar characters. The deadpan delivery adds an extra layer of charm and humor to the whole experience.

Full series review: 3/5?

Despite being a comedy manga about really dumb badasses engaging in nonsensical jokes, written by someone whose music tastes might make him friends with Araki, I couldn't help but be occasionally reminded of Blue Spring while reading it.

It begins extremely well with numerous unexplained hilarious incidents. For instance, the school has a mute Freddie (Mercury) character. However, that initial sentiment fades away as, at 17 volumes, Cromartie just misses its opportunity to end. There is over-repetition of jokes, an increasing number of additions to the cast, and plot points that are completely forgotten (whatever happened to the sumo club guys?). There was even an entire volume dedicated to a planet of the apes rip-off!

I truly commend the author for managing to create 17 volumes of gags in a setting with absolutely no plot and no sense of going anywhere. That's really difficult. But at the same time, there was a lot of boring stuff along the way.

When I was in the first half of this series, I wrote, "The wide cast of characters in tandem with the nonsensical nature of this manga allows for some good joke variety. I mean, I can read almost a full volume of this in a row and not get tired, unlike other comedy series which, no matter how good they are, keep repeating the same jokes with only a handful of different characters." I suppose I was thinking of The Way Of The Househusband as a comparison. In truth, I generally am not a big fan of comedy.

But the thing is, while that was true at the beginning, I'm not so sure it held up towards the end. It did start to feel like the same jokes were repeating over and over again, especially when it came to Fujimoto. Somehow the mascot trick still worked even at that point and Banchou-san was a delight, but it didn't save the series.

Overall, I quite enjoyed the uniqueness of Cromartie High School. The occasional jokes that made you wonder "hold up, is this meant to be a comment on the series itself?", and other meta moments were great (loved the story about the second masked guy showing up!). The decision to completely ditch the main plot in the first few chapters was very powerful. And the chapters about the author himself always brought a fun change of setting.

I'd say it's worth checking out!

Cromartie High School is a notoriously bad school.

It is filled with a large number of delinquent students.

All they ever talk about are fights and the various bad things they have done.

Currently, a sense of competition has arisen among them.

They all desperately want to prove who is the strongest among them.

This intense desire to be the top has led to an even more chaotic atmosphere within the school.

The students are constantly sizing each other up, looking for opportunities to show off their strength.

Some are even planning elaborate schemes to take down their rivals.

However, in this pursuit of strength, they seem to have forgotten about the importance of education and personal growth.

As a result, the school continues to be a breeding ground for trouble and chaos.

Cromartie Koukou is a high school in Tokyo that stands out for its extremely loose entrance requirements. Just how loose are they? Well, it has a gorilla (an actual simian primate) and a middle-aged man (who resembles a certain deceased rock-star) as students. And these aren't even the worst students. In fact, Cromartie is home to a collection of the dumbest and most hardcore delinquents in all of Tokyo.

This makes for a great premise for a gag manga. But where is the straight guy to balance out all the craziness? Enter Kamiyama, a painfully mainstream character who makes the rather dubious choice to attend Cromartie. The mangaka, Eiji Nonaka, has done a great job of creating this setting and takes full advantage of both the premise and his inspired drawing to deliver the comedy.

At Cromartie, the students are constantly trying to further cement their school's status as the most badass. Gorillas keep filling the classrooms, aliens invade, and no one seems to know where the teachers are. In the midst of all this chaos, Kamiyama approaches each situation with a cool head and attempts to set his fellow classmates in order.

If you're into comedy, you're definitely going to laugh hard. And if you have a penchant for absurd comedy, you're going to love it. I always looked forward to the last page of each chapter, eagerly anticipating the mangaka to deliver the punchline along with some excellently drawn reactions.

However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. While the first few chapters are filled with fun and laughter, after a while, the quality of the humor and the number of laughs start to decrease. By the time the number of chapters reaches triple digits, the quality has dipped to a low level. For the next 100+ chapters, the manga seems to be just running on fumes, only delivering a single dry chuckle every few chapters.

My suggestion is to start reading the manga, but whenever you enter a 10-chapter dry spell, it's probably best to just drop it. It's highly unlikely that it will pick up the pace for you ever again. If I had dropped it at around chapter 110, I would have given it an 8. But since I persevered until chapter 223, I would rate it a 6.0/10.

Cromartie High School is simply epic.

It is a place like no other, filled with unique and unforgettable characters. The students here are not your average high schoolers. They are wild, crazy, and full of energy.

The school itself has a reputation for being a hotbed of chaos and mayhem. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the excitement in the air.

The teachers at Cromartie High School have their work cut out for them as they try to keep the students in line. But despite the challenges, they do their best to educate and guide these rowdy students.

The school's extracurricular activities are also something to behold. From the wild and crazy sports teams to the creative and entertaining clubs, there is always something going on at Cromartie High School.

In conclusion, Cromartie High School is a one-of-a-kind place that is full of life, energy, and excitement. It is a school that you will never forget.

AH Cromartie High is truly a place filled with the most rowdy and unruly bunch of goons.

One look at the students there and you can tell that chaos reigns supreme. They seem to have no regard for the normal rules and regulations that govern other schools.

Their behavior is often wild and unpredictable, with fights breaking out at the slightest provocation. It's as if they thrive on creating mayhem and disorder.

Despite their rough exterior, however, there may be more to these students than meets the eye. Perhaps they are simply misunderstood or lacking in proper guidance.

Nevertheless, the reputation of AH Cromartie High as a haven for wild goons persists, and it shows no signs of changing anytime soon.

It will be interesting to see how this school and its students evolve in the future.

Many short funny stories can bring a lot of joy and laughter to our lives.

In chapter 12 of this collection, there are several stories that are particularly hilarious. One story tells about a man who goes to a pet store to buy a parrot. The parrot is known for its ability to repeat everything it hears. When the man asks the store owner if the parrot can talk, the owner replies, "Of course it can! It's a very intelligent bird."

The man takes the parrot home and starts talking to it. However, no matter what he says, the parrot remains silent. Frustrated, the man decides to take the parrot back to the store. When he arrives, he tells the store owner that the parrot he bought doesn't talk. The store owner looks at the parrot and says, "Well, of course it doesn't talk. It's deaf!"

This story made me laugh out loud. It's a simple yet clever joke that plays on our expectations. Another story in chapter 12 is about a woman who is trying to lose weight. She goes to a dietitian for advice. The dietitian tells her to eat more fruits and vegetables and to exercise regularly.

The woman follows the dietitian's advice and starts eating a lot of salads. One day, she goes to a restaurant and orders a salad. When the salad arrives, it is so big that it fills the entire plate. The woman looks at the salad and says to the waiter, "This salad is huge! How am I supposed to eat all of this?" The waiter replies, "Well, you can start by using a smaller plate."

This story also made me chuckle. It's a humorous take on the idea of portion control and how we can sometimes make things more difficult for ourselves than they need to be.

In conclusion, chapter 12 of these short funny stories is full of entertaining and laugh-out-loud moments. It's a great read for anyone who needs a good laugh or wants to brighten up their day.
