This book presents a rather unique situation comedy concept. It features a demon who is engaged in some sort of endeavor to triumph in a crazy millennium context, which is essentially a contest between good and evil.

However, like many sitcoms that meet an untimely end after just a few episodes, this book has a significant problem. It simply fails to be funny. I found myself completely unmoved while reading it, not even cracking a smile or coming close to it. Moreover, I couldn't discover anything that was particularly clever or witty about the story.

To make matters worse, the demon depicted on the cover bears a striking resemblance to Wolverine with wings. Given that the book is relatively recent, I'm 90% certain that the artist must have been influenced by pictures of Wolverine. This similarity might draw in some readers initially, but it doesn't compensate for the lack of humor and substance within the actual text.

Overall, this book seems to have missed the mark in terms of both its comedic value and its ability to engage the reader on a deeper level.

\\"Ako ne vjerujete starom poniju koji govori, kome ćete onda vjerovati?\\"

This is indeed a good question. It makes us think about the nature of trust and who or what we should place our faith in. Maybe the old pony has some wisdom to share that we might otherwise overlook.

\\"Ylith je kimnula glavom i promatrala svog ljubavnika koji je nestajao u svjetlu vatrometa. Zašto je dozvolila sebi da se zaljubi u jednog demona?\\"

I really understand you, Johanna. Such things happen even to the best of us. Love can be a mysterious and unpredictable force, leading us to make choices we might not have expected. Perhaps Ylith saw something in the demon that others couldn't.

This combination of elements seems to hint at a story full of excitement, mystery, and perhaps a touch of the supernatural. It makes one wonder what adventures and challenges these characters will face and how their fates will intertwine. I can't wait to hear more about this story.

This was a rather enjoyable read, to be sure. However, it definitely wasn't my absolute favorite work by Zelazny. He has a knack for doing the tongue-in-cheek style quite well, which was evident in this book. But truth be told, I could easily have put it down and walked away without much hesitation.

Interestingly enough, I hadn't even been aware that this book existed until now. And upon further inspection, I discovered that it is actually the first of a trilogy. Given that it was interesting enough to pique my curiosity, I have decided that I will make an effort to track down the other two installments.

I'm intrigued to see where the story will lead and how the characters will develop in the subsequent books. It's always exciting to discover a new series, even if the first book doesn't immediately blow me away. I'm looking forward to delving deeper into Zelazny's world and seeing what else he has in store for us.

Nice pastime, but still quite childish.

It's not as fun as I thought it would be. My expectations were quite raised, as I was thinking that Zelazny is some other kind of Pratchett. However, "Bring me the head of Prince Charming" is just an average book. You can kind of expect what's going to happen on the end pages ahead.

Despite that, the Zelazny style is still fun. His writing has a certain charm and quirkiness that makes it enjoyable to read. Even though the story itself may not be the most outstanding, the way he tells it and the world he creates are interesting enough to keep you engaged.

Overall, it's not a bad book, but it's also not something that will blow you away. It's a light and easy read that can be a nice way to pass the time, but don't go into it expecting a masterpiece.

Viac menej dobrák démon Azzie had an idea. He thought that he would participate in the competition to determine the fate of humanity in the next millennium as the champion of evil. And as it always is in stories, good will eventually win. So what about here?

The plot of the story might have been okay as it was, but for some reason, I just couldn't enjoy it. The end of the book was once again uninteresting to me.

Maybe it was because the characters didn't seem fully developed. Or perhaps the pacing was a bit off. I'm not sure exactly what it was that made it difficult for me to engage with the story.

However, I do think that there was potential in the concept. The idea of a démon competing to determine the fate of humanity is quite unique and could have been explored in more depth.

Overall, while the story didn't quite hit the mark for me, I can see that there were some good elements that could have been improved upon.

This is a mostly gratuitous comedic parody of fairy tales.

It depends entirely on its own ridiculousness to advance with nonsensical plot devices. However, it does occasionally manage to surprise with some genuine humor and clever musings about the nature of good and evil.

If you have absolutely nothing else to read, it's not a bad choice. But if you have a preference for books that offer more depth and substance, you're likely to be disappointed.

The story seems to be more focused on being absurd and funny rather than delving into profound themes. While there are moments of entertainment, it may not satisfy those who are seeking a more intellectually stimulating read.

Overall, it's a light-hearted and somewhat forgettable take on fairy tales that may provide a bit of amusement but won't leave a lasting impression.

Memorable and hilariously original!

I read this book while I was studying Grimm's Fairy Tales, and that might just be the perfect way to experience the story. It was truly enjoyable to jump back and forth between the classic fairy tales and their modern parodies. In a world that can often seem so dark and gloomy, it was extremely refreshing to come across a story that playfully poked fun at the concept of good and evil.

The author's unique take on these well-known tales added a new layer of entertainment and depth. It made me look at the traditional fairy tales from a completely different perspective.

If the current state of the world is getting you down and you're in need of a lighthearted escape, then I highly recommend picking up this book. It's sure to bring a smile to your face and brighten your day.

Probably because of my preexisting love for the Terry Pratchett comic fantasy (a category with which he didn't always like to be associated), I couldn't help but be disappointed by this book.

It lacked basic consistency in the story. The characters were hardly likable, and the end was both expected and not enjoyable.

The thing that really interested me a great deal is the importance of good writing, which was lacking here. A good, no, a great story is simply not enough. Good writing is essential.

It is possible that the problem lies in the collaboration, which could potentially explain the lack of consistency. However, this is no excuse in itself. After all, Pratchett and Gaiman did an amazing job on "Good Omens" a year earlier, despite being separated by the distance of the Atlantic Ocean and before the era of the Internet. Their ability to create a captivating and consistent story in that instance shows that it is possible, even under challenging circumstances.

In a world where the forces of good and evil constantly clash, a demon has set its sights on winning the Millenial Contest. This contest is no ordinary event; it is a battle that will determine the fate of the world.

The demon, with its cunning and devious ways, devises a plan to outwit the forces of good. It sees the contest as a throwaway thing, something that can be easily manipulated.

However, the path to victory is not as straightforward as the demon thinks. There are many obstacles and challenges that it must overcome. One such challenge comes in the form of a dwarf, who engages in a demonic negotiation with the demon.

The scene of the negotiation is quite nice, with the dwarf standing up to the powerful demon and refusing to back down. Despite the supernatural themes, the movie is rated PG, making it suitable for a wide range of audiences.

Overall, the movie is a 2/5, with its simple plot and lack of depth. While the scene of the demonic negotiation is a亮点, it is not enough to save the movie from being a forgettable experience.

Entertaining.

The title alone has the power to make me break into a grin. However, to be completely honest, I'm not exactly on the edge of my seat, desperate to read the subsequent installments in the Millenial Contest trilogy.

It's not that I'm completely uninterested. After all, I might change my mind once I've read FAUST. But until that moment arrives, I'm not overly eager to pick up another story that revolves around Azzie.

Perhaps it's because I need to be in a specific mood or have a particular mindset to fully engage with this particular series. Or maybe there are other books and stories out there that are currently capturing my attention more strongly.

Nevertheless, I'm keeping an open mind and who knows, maybe in the future, I'll find myself drawn back into the world of the Millenial Contest trilogy and discover that I can't get enough of Azzie's adventures.

Zelazny, Roger, and Robert Sheckley. Bring Me the Head of Prince Charming. Millennial Contest No. 1. Bantam, 1991.

About a year after Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett had a highly successful collaboration on Good Omens, Roger Zelazny and Robert Sheckley embarked on what would turn into a trilogy of similar novels. In Bring Me the Head of Prince Charming, a demon has a rather ambitious plan. He aims to achieve infernal fame by outperforming the forces of good in a contest that takes place every thousand years to decide which side will govern humanity for the next thousand years. His scheme involves creating a beautiful princess and a handsome prince using spare corpse parts and ichor to reenact the story of Sleeping Beauty. However, he intends to rig it so that they will choose evil and bring the fairy-tale to a disgraceful conclusion.

The demon encounters numerous difficulties in getting everything accomplished, which leads to a great deal of predictable humor. The novel gives the impression of being a bit hasty, and the style does not quite reach Zelazny and Sheckley's typical standard. Nevertheless, the next two novels in the series are much more successful. Even when these two writers are not operating at their peak, they still outshine most fantasists who engage in lampoons.
