Bring me the head of the prince. If you don't succeed with Faust. Just a damned farce" by Roger Zelazny and Robert Sheckley! Three great novels, by two great authors in one big volume in a wonderful (and stylish) hardcover. What can I tell you, when the publisher "Bard" has decided to christen their series "Great Masters of Fantasy and Science Fiction", they really haven't skimped. And that the "Millennial Contest" trilogy belongs right here - there is no doubt about it! And you will get a damned farce in abundance. Read the review on "Book Wings":

Have you ever seen a film trailer, then watched the actual film and come to the conclusion that the trailer was actually superior? For example, in the cases of Pearl Harbour or The Phantom Menace? Well, this book is rather similar. The premise of the book appears to have the potential to be highly hilarious. It initially gives the impression that it will be filled with side-splitting humor and engaging情节. However, when you actually read the book, you find that it is merely mildly amusing. The jokes and the overall tone of the book don't quite reach the level of hilarity that was promised by the premise. It's as if the author had a great idea but wasn't able to fully execute it to its maximum potential. As a result, the book falls short of expectations and leaves the reader with a sense of mild entertainment rather than the uproarious laughter that was hoped for.

This is a truly humorous fantasy that playfully mocks conventional fantasy and fairy tales. It does so by presenting a rather unique concept - a regularly scheduled contest between good and evil.

I recall having the thought that perhaps it could have been an even better book if either of the collaborators had worked on it independently. However, that's not to say it doesn't have its charms. There are indeed some genuinely hilarious lines and situations that had me chuckling.

Alongside these humorous elements, there are also a few bits of serious business. These serious parts, in contrast to the light-hearted humor, can be a bit jarring. It gives the book a bit of a schizophrenic feel at times.

Overall, it has a similar feel to "Good Omens" by Pratchett and Gaiman. So, if you happened to enjoy that particular work, there's a good chance you might find something to like in this one as well. It's a bit of a mixed bag, but it does have its moments of brilliance and humor that are worth experiencing.

I could embark on an extremely long diatribe regarding this book. However, I am of the opinion that the message will be effectively conveyed if I keep this concise and to the point.

This book gives the impression as if it were penned by a fourth grader. The language is simplistic, the plot lacks depth and complexity, and the overall execution seems rather amateurish.

It fails to engage the reader on a deeper level and lacks the finesse and sophistication that one would expect from a well-written piece of literature.

'Nuff said. There is simply not much more to add to this assessment. The book falls far short of the mark and fails to deliver a satisfying reading experience.

I read this story at least twenty years ago and vividly remember enjoying it immensely. Even as an adult, it was still great fun to revisit.

There's really nothing to be taken overly seriously here. After all, the plot involves a demon who cobbles together Prince Charming and Sleeping Beauty using body parts in an attempt to win the Millennial contest between Good and Evil.

Nevertheless, it's a delightful piece of light fantasy. I've always had a penchant for stories that pit Heaven against Hell, and the sheer goofiness of this particular one gives it an added charm.

It's the kind of book that's perfect for reading in a waiting room, when you need something entertaining to pass the time.

It's not a profound or life-changing work, but it doesn't need to be. It simply offers a bit of escapist entertainment, and sometimes that's exactly what we need.

I vividly remember the very moment when I first laid my eyes on this piece of writing.

As I delved into it, I found myself completely captivated and filled with a sense of profound love for it.

Moreover, a great deal of it had me in stitches, vastly amused by the clever turns of phrase, the humorous anecdotes, and the unique perspectives presented.

It was as if the words on the page had come alive, transporting me to a world of entertainment and delight.

Each sentence seemed to hold a new surprise, keeping my attention firmly fixed and my heart filled with joy.

This initial encounter with the text left an indelible mark on my memory, and to this day, I still cherish the experience of reading it for the first time.

It serves as a reminder of the power of words to touch our hearts, make us laugh, and create lasting memories.

Fun read!

It's like a wonderful blend of Half Discworld and Half Princess Bride. The illustrations at the beginning of each "book" are truly great, adding a special charm to the whole reading experience.

However, it could have actually been a bit longer. The demon, who is essentially the main character, takes up most of our attention throughout the story. This unfortunately leaves some of the other members of the cast underdeveloped. We don't get to know them as deeply as we might have liked.

Despite this minor flaw, the overall concept and the way the story unfolds are still quite engaging. It makes you want to keep turning the pages to see what happens next with the demon and how the other characters might play a role in the future.

It's definitely a book that has the potential to be even better with a bit more exploration of the supporting cast. But as it is, it's still a fun and enjoyable read that will appeal to fans of both Discworld and Princess Bride.

What could have been an enjoyable and lighthearted adventure is unfortunately spoiled by several significant flaws.

Firstly, the characterization is extremely shoddy. The characters lack depth and development, making it difficult for the reader to form any meaningful connection with them.

Secondly, the plot is both pointless and meandering. It seems to lack a clear direction or purpose, wandering aimlessly from one scene to the next without any real sense of progression.

Adding to the problems is the random and unacceptable lodes of casual racism that are scattered throughout the text. This is not only offensive but also detracts from the overall quality of the work.

Finally, there is an excessive and unnecessary insistence on describing the breasts of every female character at least once, regardless of how incidental their role may be. This objectification of women is both inappropriate and tiresome.

The story starts off with some promise,展现ing a jaunty attitude and a cheerfully grisly sense of humor. However, all of this quickly vanishes about a third of the way through, replaced by crude innuendos and a series of tedious episodes that fail to amount to anything of substance.

Overall, this is a disappointing work that fails to live up to its initial potential due to these numerous flaws.

\\"Bring Me the Head of the Prince\\" is a novel-story, permeated with black humor, gore, and blood.

The demon Azzi decides to involve himself in the competition between the forces of good and evil that takes place every thousand years and determines the fate of humanity for the next thousand years - whether it will be controlled by the good angels or the evil demons.

Azzi begins to hatch his cunning plan, which is to re-create the story of Sleeping Beauty. But it won't end as neatly and romantically, and the beauty will kill the prince. So Azzi starts to assemble his prince and princess, basing it on the heads of a tragically deceased couple in love, where the cowardly male representative has abandoned the female.

He takes as an assistant the proud and loyal servant Frike, who dutifully feeds the legs, arms, and heads to ensure the necessary parts for his master Azzi.

However, in the end, everything goes wrong....

This story seems to offer a unique and dark take on traditional fairy tales and the battle between good and evil. The idea of a demon manipulating a classic story in such a twisted way is both fascinating and disturbing. It makes you wonder what other surprises and turns the author has in store for the readers.

Perhaps as the story unfolds, we will see how Azzi's plan backfires and what consequences it has for him and those around him. Will the forces of good prevail in the end, or will Azzi's evil deeds have a lasting impact on the fate of humanity? Only time will tell as we continue to explore this captivating and macabre tale.

Great humour! It's truly a delight to encounter such a book that is filled with wonderful wit and charm.

Great thoughts too! This work is not just a source of entertainment but also a profound exploration of important themes.

A parody of most of the well-known fairy-tales, it takes the familiar stories and turns them on their heads in the most creative and unexpected ways.

A book written with great imagination, it transports the reader to a world where anything is possible and where the boundaries of reality are constantly being pushed.

But also a book that could make anyone think about the difference between good and evil and why good is actually better than evil. It forces us to question our assumptions and beliefs and to consider the true nature of morality.

This book is a must-read for anyone who loves a good laugh and a thought-provoking read. It will leave you entertained, enlightened, and with a new perspective on life.
