Tomie stays slaying (literally).

I absolutely loved this volume. The horror of the regeneration and the sort of cyclical feeling it evokes is truly spine-chilling. You get the distinct sense that it's a never-ending nightmare, something from which there is no escape.

The art in this volume is both jarring and incredibly effective at portraying the story. It vividly shows the characters' deteriorating mental state as they are continuously haunted by Tomie's return. The disgusting way in which she keeps coming back is also masterfully depicted, adding to the overall sense of dread and unease.

Overall, this is a must-read for any horror fan. The combination of the creepy story and the excellent art makes it a truly unforgettable experience.

In general, I liked it.

I was waiting to finish the second volume because in fact it is a collection of stories around a character.

I think some stories are better than others. Some have a more interesting layer of meaning. Others are more like fillers. For example, "Nene" could have not existed.

I like the character of Tomie and what she can come to signify, all her senses bordering on violence and desire.

I also liked to discover, especially in some of these stories in the second volume, that there is a lot of humor behind the terror. For instance, Tomie's head spitting out food, asking for caviar and foie gras, and then getting tired of that and asking to be taken to buy jewelry, etc. These two genres go very well together.

The combination of the disturbing and the comical adds an extra dimension to the overall experience of reading these stories. It makes the reader both cringe and laugh at the same time, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere.

Overall, while there are some weaker stories in the collection, the strengths of the character of Tomie and the unexpected humor make it an enjoyable read.

3.5 stars

This rating of 3.5 stars indicates a moderately good performance or quality. It suggests that the subject being evaluated has several positive aspects, but also has some areas that could be improved.

A 3.5-star rating might mean that the product or service meets most of the expected standards, but may have a few minor flaws or不足之处. It could also imply that the overall experience is enjoyable, but not outstanding.

However, it's important to note that the interpretation of a 3.5-star rating can vary depending on the context and the specific criteria used for evaluation. For example, in some cases, a 3.5-star rating might be considered very good, while in others, it might be seen as just average.

Overall, a 3.5-star rating is a useful indicator that provides some insight into the quality or performance of something, but it should be taken into account along with other factors and considerations.

The second part didn't add anything new or interesting to the series, rated 2.5 rounded up to 3.

The same bodice-ripping continues, as well as how Tomie charms all the men, and then they destroy her, and she is reborn.

It seems that the story is stuck in a repetitive cycle, lacking innovation and depth.

The characters and their actions feel somewhat one-dimensional, and the plot fails to engage the reader on a deeper level.

While the concept of Tomie's charm and her ability to be reborn is initially intriguing, it quickly becomes tiresome without any significant development or variation.

Overall, the second part is a disappointment and fails to live up to the potential set by the first part of the series.

I can't say whether it's better or worse than the first one because I don't remember the first one very well kkk.

Some of the stories I really liked (such as "Adopted" and "Little Mind"), while others I thought were a bit clichéd.

It got more exciting when the stories started to have continuity. Unfortunately, the ending...

Overall, it was an interesting read. There were some really good moments and some that could have been improved. The author has a unique style of writing that kept me engaged throughout. However, I felt that the ending could have been more satisfying. It left me with a bit of a cliffhanger and I was left wondering what would happen next.

Despite the flaws, I would still recommend this book to others who enjoy reading short stories. It's a quick and easy read that will keep you entertained.

Tomie is the first manga that was published for Junji Ito.

In the early stories, it is quite noticeable. However, containing stories that have been released over the years, this compilation is an excellent way to see how Junji Ito evolves as an artist.

I find it interesting to see how in each story, Ito tries to develop his concept in new and different directions. Although sometimes it results in similar or repetitive stories.

Despite this, the overall collection provides a fascinating look at Ito's creative process and the progression of his unique style.

The various interpretations and twists in each story keep the reader engaged and on the edge of their seat.

Whether you are a long-time fan of Junji Ito or new to his work, Tomie is definitely a manga worth checking out.

It offers a diverse range of stories that will satisfy both horror enthusiasts and those looking for something a little different in the world of manga.

Volume 1 - I've got nothing to add.

This simple statement holds a certain truth. Sometimes, after reading a book, we may not have an immediate urge to express our thoughts or add our own insights. It could be that the book has already said it all in a way that left us without much to contribute.

However, it doesn't mean that the reading experience was not valuable. Maybe we were so deeply immersed in the story or the ideas presented that we are still processing them internally.

Volume 1 might have been a captivating read that left us with a sense of awe or a new perspective. Even without adding our own words, the impact of the book can linger within us, influencing our future thoughts and actions.

Volume 1 - a silent but powerful presence in our literary journey.

The original article is not provided, so I can't rewrite and expand it specifically. However, I can give you a general example to show you how to do it.

**Original Article**: The dog is running in the park. It is very happy.

**Expanded Article**:
The cute little dog is running freely in the park.

Its tail is wagging vigorously, as if it is expressing its joy.

The dog seems to be enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful scenery of the park.

It runs here and there, chasing after butterflies and sniffing at the flowers.

It is truly a very happy and carefree moment for the dog.

Could have made a great blockbuster but alas.....

One of the main advantages of Volume 1 for me, and not only according to the reviews, was its consistency. Each story was a continuation of the previous one, and it kept me watching with great interest to see where Tomie's endless life would lead her. However, Volume 2 lacks that consistency. Even though Junji Ito has combined the 2 stories into one, the overall impression remains the same - it's just a collection of unrelated stories. Although these individual stories are interesting on their own, it would have been far better if they all shared the same background and the actions of one story had echoes in the others. This lack of cohesion somewhat detracts from the overall experience.

Good, but it could have been better. 3.8/5

Продовження так само на трієчку. Основна історія не міняється, лише множиться. I quite like the fact that these are separate small stories. They are similar to those scary tales that frighten children in the camp when everyone is sitting around the campfire, and it's already dark outside and the sudden sounds intensify the fear. However, overall, the dialogue left a sense of incompleteness. There is no moral or conclusion, or at least a clear ending. It seems that the author just presented these strange and somewhat creepy scenarios without really tying them together or giving the reader a definite takeaway. Maybe the intention was to let the readers imagine and draw their own conclusions, but for me, it felt a bit lacking in that regard.

There's some truly creepy imagery in this volume.

It's as if the illustrator has delved deep into the recesses of the human psyche to bring forth these disturbing and spine-chilling visuals. The dark and shadowy figures seem to lurk around every corner, their forms indistinct yet menacing.

The colors used are muted and dull, adding to the overall sense of foreboding. However, despite the vivid and unsettling nature of these images, it's still not entirely clear what's going on.

There are hints and suggestions, but the full story remains a mystery, leaving the reader both intrigued and a little bit scared. It's this combination of creepy imagery and unanswered questions that makes this volume so captivating and engaging.

One can't help but turn the pages, hoping to解开 the谜团 and make sense of the strange and terrifying world that has been created.
