I really liked this a great deal.

I am also extremely excited to see where it will lead from here.

What I love about it is that it is presented in small, slightly connected stories rather than one long continuous piece.

I was actually quite curious about this aspect before reading it because of its length.

The art within it is also very appealing.

When you read it, there is a very strong feeling that comes through, and it's a feeling that I often experience when reading Junji Ito's work.

In fact, it's a feeling that only he seems to be able to create.

This particular piece has managed to capture that essence in a remarkable way, making it a truly engaging and enjoyable read.

I can't wait to see what further developments and surprises it has in store.

Ito is a fascinating character, and we can read his first stories in this compilation volume. It is of great interest to both the fans of the mangaka and the fans of terror

. Ito's works have a unique charm that combines elements of horror and the supernatural in a way that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. His art style is detailed and atmospheric, adding to the overall sense of dread and unease.

Whether you are a long-time fan of Ito or new to his work, this compilation volume is a must-read. It offers a glimpse into the early days of his career and showcases his talent and creativity.

So, if you are looking for a thrilling and spine-chilling read, look no further than Ito's stories in this compilation volume.

Junji Ito's works are truly imaginative in a rather weird sense.

Curiously enough, I find myself thoroughly enjoying the strange horror and unique art that he presents.

Take Tomie 1 for example. In my opinion, it sometimes borders on the psychotic, going even further than Uzumaki.

The way he crafts the stories and the visuals is both captivating and disturbing.

I can't help but be drawn into this world of his.

And I'm really looking forward to picking up the next installment in this series soon.

I'm eager to see what other terrifying and mind-bending tales Junji Ito has in store for us.

His work has a certain allure that keeps me coming back for more, despite the fact that it can be quite unsettling at times.

It's this combination of horror and art that makes his works so truly special.

The works of Professor Junji Ito are numerous. However, it cannot be denied that one of the most famous and widely talked about works of the professor must be 'Tomie'.

For the first and second volumes of the collection, they are both compilations of short stories about the mysterious girl named 'Tomie'. She is beautiful and charming, but also has a mysterious and deep side. Men of all ages are attracted to her and fall in love with her. Sometimes, their love becomes so intense that they even want to kill her.

In the first part of the first volume of the collection, it is the beginning of Tomie's story. The origin of the legend of the beautiful and mysterious girl Tomie. Tomie is a beautiful girl in the class who likes to play with men's hearts. Young and old men are all crazy about her. However, because her charm is too irresistible, the men fight each other because of their longing and jealousy. In the end, it turns into a murder case. Tomie is killed, and her body is dismembered and thrown away by everyone to cover up the crime. But no one knows that the parts of her body multiply and grow into new Tomies continuously, resulting in many strange stories for readers to follow.

I'm glad to have read the story of Tomie. Hehe. I've been following the professor's works for many years, but I've never read the story of Tomie before. Why? Hehe. Because the books in the collection are difficult to find and buy, especially these first two volumes of Tomie. It took me many years to finally buy the complete set.

But once I read it, I found it very interesting. I've read many works (many parts) of the professor before, but Tomie is still a story that is as interesting as other works. It has its unique charm and mystery. After reading it, I can't help but wonder what kind of person Tomie really is. She dies and comes back to life again.

One of the most interesting aspects of this first volume of Tomie is that we can almost see in real time the evolution of Junji Ito. By compiling stories of the same character that emerge throughout the author's career, the first stories have a drawing that borders on naive art. Besides, the panels are a bit more confusing to understand, and there are many fewer JUNJI ITO ™️ moments where a scare arrives with a drawing full of prominent lines and more detail than the rest of the pages.

However, if Tomie shows us anything, it is that a good idea can shine so brightly that it can survive over time. And we are grateful that Ito has insisted on continuing to write about this so seductive and enigmatic character. Little by little, his stories handle tension better; his drawing becomes more precious and terrifying; and especially, he stretches his concepts to such strange points that only Ito could be writing them.

I also loved the narrative thread that ties everything together. I thought the stories would be much more episodic, and although we change places and characters several times throughout this volume, there are elements that remain apart from Tomie herself. Some characters who refuse to let her go, for example, or thematic threads about possession, scientific experiments, and art that evoke deeper thoughts about the titular character. But the charm lies in the simplicity: Junji Ito tells these stories to scare you, and boy does he try hard to do so.

Just like other works of Junji Ito, the illustrations in "Del dibujo" are terrifying and grotesque, and the visual impact is there.

However, in this particular manga, the idea of Tomie, what she does and how she does it, is truly chilling, and there are a couple of stories that really leave you with an uncomfortable feeling.

Here are several stories where Tomie appears. There is a reason why there are so many stories that are not specifically connected entirely, but yes, apart from Tomie, there are characters who appear in a couple, and then another one who appears in another couple and so on, and some are intertwined.

What I would have liked is for the Panini México edition to be of a larger size.

Overall, I give it 5 stars.

So far, this is truly fascinating. The evil undead beauty, Tomie, who experiences death a thousand times and is reborn again and again solely to terrorize others as revenge for her own death and the subsequent dismemberment of her body into dozens of pieces. She alternates between being a monstrous Medusa head and a dangerously beautiful minx capable of controlling men into submission... and ultimately leading them to death. Elsewhere, she appears as a headless body with only monster eyes stuck in what would be the neck,发出 "HA HA. DIE! AHA. HA."

In another chapter, there is a lumpy carpet, and the lumps transform into numerous Tomie heads that mock the narrator's desire. "YAMAZAKI! HOLD ME!" the Tomie heads shriek. It's similar to Audition, except that the torture scene keeps being repeated and replayed, becoming uglier and more chilling each time.

Junju Ito is like if HP Lovecraft had lusted after a high school girl and pathologized his desire into a strange castration nightmare that repeats itself over and over and over again.

AHA HA HA

Her beauty is truly captivating, and it has the power to drive me completely crazy!

There are several interesting stories within this manga, although their endings are somewhat predictable if you catch my drift. She meets a rather gruesome fate in almost every story, being killed and dismembered. However, despite this, the stories remain exciting. This manga is like a double-edged sword. On one hand, there isn't anything overly delightful or super cool about it. But on the other hand, it has the ability to play on your emotions.

Six out of the nine stories share a common background, with each one continuing the narrative of the previous one. It would have been really cool if all the stories had a connected chain of events that developed gradually, similar to a TV series. The remaining three stories are also interesting in their own right, although I was a bit frustrated that they weren't connected. The last story of the manga was rightfully honored with an anime adaptation in one of the series called "Junji Ito Collection".

Don't go into this manga expecting anything supernatural. Just make yourself a nice cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the tales of the beautiful and terrifying Tomie! 4.5/5

The painting is nice, and the stories are interesting. However, the theme "such a beautiful young girl is herself to blame for men wanting to kill her" didn't sit well with me. It's a very clichéd and outdated narrative. It's on a triangle.

This kind of theme seems to put the blame on the victim, which is unfair and unjust. A beautiful girl should not be punished or targeted just because of her appearance. There could be many other reasons for the men's actions, such as their own psychological problems or social pressures.

We should look at these stories from a more objective and comprehensive perspective and not simply accept the traditional and one-sided view. We need to question and challenge these clichéd themes to promote a more just and equal society.

So, I guess I'd give it 2.5 stars.

Okay, let me tell you about my experience with this. I read Volume 1 and Volume 2 almost non-stop. Volume 2 was definitely an improvement, but it still didn't change my rating much, and here's the reason. The atmosphere of the whole thing was just amazing. It completely gave me the creeps. However, it was also really boring. The story was so repetitive that after a while, I found myself wondering how many times the same theme could be used in different settings. But still, my curiosity got the better of me, and I kept reading until I finished both volumes. And it turned out to be a good thing because Volume 2 did add some excitement with stories like "Hair" and "Murder".

Now, let's talk about the art. It was simply outstanding. It was both good and horrifying at the same time. I really loved it. I am now extremely curious about other works of Junji Ito. As I mentioned earlier, I am in love with the atmosphere, and the art is just amazing. I can't wait to see what else he has in store for us.
