The first half of this story was truly amazing! In fact, it was great until L met his demise. I'm really hoping that L isn't actually dead and that he was merely attempting to deceive Light and apprehend him as Kira. At least that's what occurred in the live-action movie, and hopefully, it's the same in this book.

Rjuazaki is a genius oddball. He is socially awkward and shy. He has specific rituals and hates Kiru.

Nir, on the other hand, is also a genius oddball. Just like Rjuazaki, he is socially awkward and shy, and has specific rituals. However, the difference is that Nir is blonde.

These two individuals, despite their many similarities, also have this one distinct feature that sets them apart. Their genius and oddball nature make them stand out in a crowd, but their social awkwardness and shyness can sometimes make it difficult for them to fit in. Their specific rituals add to their unique personalities, and their mutual hatred for Kiru is another aspect that binds them in a strange way.

The best and at the same time the worst volume of the entire work.

Okay, indeed, as I previously mentioned, my enjoyment is being slightly hindered. I don't think it's as thrilling anymore. I still have a great love for it, of course, but I truly preferred the initial few volumes.

My sole specific critique regarding the series thus far is that I desire some strong female characters. There are numerous strong male characters; in fact, nearly all of the characters are male. The only female characters that come to my mind immediately are Misa, Rem, Sayu, and Light's mom. Rem is a shinigami, so she doesn't really count. Sayu and Light's mom have very little presence in the series. The only consistent female character is Misa, and she is extremely dumb. She is basically being exploited and believes life is only "sunshines and rainbows." She has this absurd idea that she is in love with Light and will sacrifice her life for him, when in reality, she doesn't even truly know him. He blatantly says, "Do this Misa and I'll love you more," and she's like, "Yay!! Light will love me!" She is easily one of my least favorite characters in any book I have ever read. She is so submissive and naïve. It seems like her only reason for existing is to "love" Light. I really don't like her.

I just can't stop reading this series.

It's truly addictive. The plot has been getting more and more amazing with each passing book.

I recently reread a volume, and I still can't believe the plot twist in it. I mean, it was just mind-blowing.

The way the author has crafted the story and developed the characters is simply outstanding.

Each book builds on the previous ones, adding new layers and depth to the overall narrative.

I find myself constantly on the edge of my seat, eager to see what will happen next.

This series has become one of my all-time favorites, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good read.

I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us in the next volume.

This is truly a remarkable one. As we have arrived at such a crucial juncture in the story, it is finally set to shatter the old patterns of the L/Ryuzaki - Kira/Light's battle of wits. The introduction of new characters at this stage is more than welcome.

Moreover, Misa remains utterly insufferable. Seriously, she should stop referring to herself in the third person. However, Light Yagami is such a despicable being that it is actually quite enjoyable to loathe him! His actions and manipulations are so devious that they constantly keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

The tension between L and Light continues to build, and with the addition of these new elements, the story is bound to take some unexpected turns. It will be fascinating to see how the battle of wits unfolds and who will ultimately come out on top.

Overall, this part of the story has the potential to be a game-changer, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

This volume would have been on par with, if not at the same level as Volume 6. However, I'm not entirely sure if I like the way the ending has set up the plot for future instalments.

I'm going to continue reading these because I forgot how binge-worthy they are. But I'm having doubts about how the next volumes will live up to their predecessors without essentially repeating what has already happened.

That being said, this was a bold volume. The illustrations are truly remarkable as they bring the characters to life in a way that gives me chills at times. I'll rate it a solid 4/5 and will keep going. But deep down, I have a feeling that the next 5 volumes might not be as good.

P.s - I'm kind of annoyed because I felt click-baited when Near and Mello were introduced. I was hoping for some great female characters, but it turns out they're guys too. Typical.
