The Plot Twist Was Everything I Hoped For

I have always been a huge fan of stories that have unexpected plot twists. They have the power to completely change the direction of a narrative and keep me on the edge of my seat. Recently, I read a book that had a plot twist that was everything I hoped for and more.

The story had been unfolding in a relatively predictable way, but then, out of nowhere, the author threw in a twist that I never saw coming. It was so well-executed that it completely blew my mind. Suddenly, everything I thought I knew about the story and the characters was called into question.

The plot twist added a whole new layer of depth and complexity to the story. It made me look at the events that had come before in a completely different light and forced me to reevaluate my assumptions. It also made the ending of the story much more satisfying, as it tied up all the loose ends in a way that I could never have predicted.

Zero is the tragic turning point of the entire Death Note series, and undoubtedly the best volume in the series thus far.

So much happens in this volume that it's hard to cover all its facets. It not only pays off the previous volumes but also sets a new direction for the series.

The return of Kira-Light sets in motion an explanation of his scheme on par with the climax of The Count of Monte Cristo. In fact, it elevates the quality of the previous two volumes. Every single piece that I had an issue with previously is not only explained but also fits in as an integral part of Light's long-term diabolical plan. It's written absolutely brilliantly.

It is through the execution of this plan that Light crosses a line into a realm of pure evil. The climax of this volume is absolutely heart-wrenching and entirely divisive for the Death Note fan-base. I won't give it away here, but as hard as the twist hit me, I still found it necessary for the series. The tragic web that closes between L, Light, Misa, and Rem is perfectly plotted.

The passage of years is surprising but also exciting for the future of the series.

A tragic, perfect volume. It's worth reading the whole series just to get to this point. It offers a depth and complexity that keeps readers on the edge of their seats and leaves them with a sense of awe and admiration for the masterful storytelling.

It was logical, I know. But, L can't just die that easy! It was equivalent when both Light and L were competing. But now, Light can't just win! Even if L is replaced by a successor who's just as smart as L once was.

The competition between Light and L was intense and full of twists and turns. Their battle of wits was like a thrilling chess game, with each move carefully calculated. L's death was a shock, but it also opened up new possibilities.

Now, I'll have to wait before I get back to the library and start Vol. 8. I'm eager to see how the story unfolds and who will come out on top in this battle of the minds. Will Light continue to reign supreme, or will L's successor be able to outsmart him? Only time will tell.

Likes: I have a deep affection for all the volumes in this series. It is an extremely emotional one, yet it is also truly amazing. Light, who I consider as my "husband," is just outstanding. He is such a powerful and captivating main character. His actions and decisions throughout the story keep me on the edge of my seat.

Dislikes: However, at times, all mangas can be rather confusing for me. Additionally, I'm not too fond of the fact that there are numerous other characters. I feel that perhaps there could be a slight reduction in the number of characters. This would make it easier for me to follow the story and keep track of everyone's actions and motives.

What mood should you read this book in?: It is best read in an emotional and adventurous mood. The story takes you on a thrilling ride filled with twists and turns, and you need to be in the right frame of mind to fully appreciate it.

Pace: The pace of the story is fast, which adds to the excitement. There is always something happening, and you never have a chance to get bored.

Likable Characters?: Without a doubt, Light is an extremely likable character. His intelligence and charm are just irresistible. However, I have to say that Misa better back off. She can be a bit too overbearing at times.

Overall, I have just started watching the TV show based on this manga, and it is very good. I am really enjoying it and would love to continue watching it. Unfortunately, my sister is too scared to watch it with me. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to enjoy it on my own. BYE!

Volume seven was without a doubt a significant improvement over the previous volumes.

However, it still maintained a relatively slow pace, and I find myself lacking a deep connection to these characters or the story at this point.

Thankfully, some much-needed action finally took place in this volume, which has led to a drastic change in the plot.

I have a hunch that I'm going to have a great liking for Near. He bears a resemblance to L, yet there's something about him that makes him even more appealing to me.

I'm eager to witness how the events unfold and will most probably continue reading this series.

It's interesting to note that throughout the story, there have been elements such as murder, heart attacks, a brief mention of a fatal motorcycle crash, and a brief mention of terminal cancer. These aspects add an extra layer of complexity and drama to the narrative.

Despite my initial reservations, the recent developments in volume seven have reignited my interest and made me curious to see what lies ahead.

The next volume and another entanglement of the plot. If the author manages to handle this well, that would be great. But for me, I'm already getting lost and have the feeling that the story is being stretched forcefully. Personally, nothing surprises me anymore. Even what happened here, I have the feeling that it was actually just meant to mislead us, but we'll see. I still have 5 volumes left until the end. I'll read them, but it probably won't be a fun and pleasant pastime.

It seems that the story has lost its charm for me. The continuous twists and turns don't seem as exciting as they used to be. Maybe the author is trying too hard to create a complex and engaging plot, but in the process, it has become a bit convoluted and tiresome.

I hope that in the remaining volumes, there will be some new elements or revelations that can rekindle my interest. Otherwise, it might just be a chore to finish reading this series.

So, Kira/Light is playing as L's successor, but at the same time L trained two successors, from whom he wanted to choose: Near and Mell (probably). In the end, he didn't have time to choose, so here we have Good L, Bad L and Kira L.

This looks like a deadly duo in Vegas.

By the way, Saju is quite a cat. It would be fun if she could be put together with Mell, for example.
