Currently, volume 7 is the best volume. Although the first half progresses a bit slowly, it takes a very enjoyable journey with the tempo it gains later. Even though when reading the previous volume, I didn't remember the Yotsuba arc very well, as I read the events in this volume, I remembered. It was very nice to see the events heat up a bit more, Kira's appearance, and the big game set up for him step by step. Even as the plan works smoothly, I read with excitement how the next step will develop. When talking about the plan, even if I don't remember, I must not forget that the plan Light set up before also worked smoothly.
The story in this volume becomes more intense and engaging. The actions and decisions of the characters keep the reader on the edge of their seat. The development of the plot is well-paced, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader interested. The introduction of new characters and the deepening of existing ones add more depth to the story. Overall, volume 7 is a great addition to the series and leaves the reader eager to see what will happen next.
I will give it 4 stars again because Light in the role of a meek and innocent boy really doesn't appeal to me at all. L, on the other hand, is starting to look more and more like a psychopath, even more dangerous and manipulative than Kira. If by the end of this saga the two of them have swapped roles, this reversal won't surprise me at all. In this volume, the arc with the corporate sharks deepens. There is a little action towards the end, but overall the plot line was rather dull. At least for me. And the last thing that annoys me is that they still don't reveal Light's hidden plan that was set up a hundred thousand chapters ago. But secretly I flipped through volume 7 and - spoiler alert - the truth is revealed already in the first few pages there.
Way to go, Aizawa!
