[Auszug aus meiner Leserückschau März]

The story continued with criminals and psychos in the second part of Death Note, Vereinigung. In this volume, readers get significantly more of L's perspective. It becomes increasingly clear that there are similarities between him and his adversary. They are fanatics on two sides of the same coin, with one based on legality and the other on self-justice. This makes the dynamic between the two even more interesting, and one can hardly wait until the two masters of the charade face each other :3

Moreover, Light also has competition from another side, namely Naomi, the woman whose husband died by his hand. As a former FBI agent, she is anything but stupid. And oh my God, this race against time, in which he has to find out her name within 10 minutes (!) to get rid of her, is the most exciting so far in the whole series! It puts everything, even how Light nullifies his own police observation, in the shade

I truly admired the way Naomi had astutely arrived at some of her conclusions regarding Kira.

Her deductions were sharp and well thought out. However, unfortunately for her, things didn't pan out as she had hoped.

Light, on the other hand, was being his usual overly intelligent self and managed to elude any real consequences.

It seemed as if he always had a way of staying one step ahead.

Naomi's efforts, although commendable, were ultimately in vain against Light's devious mind.

It was a classic case of a battle of wits, with Light emerging victorious once again.

Despite the outcome, Naomi's work was still an important part of the story, as it added depth and complexity to the overall narrative.

And so, the cat and mouse game between Light and those trying to catch him continued.

If I were to make even a single mistake... If I were to leave even the tiniest clue about my true identity, my fate would be sealed. Just one little clue could mean the end for me.

Mass murder has seldom been this entertaining. (This particular set of episodes truly emphasizes the fact that Light is indeed a cold-blooded killer.) The battle of wits between Light and L is simply amazing. Whom should I root for? Do I even have a clear answer? (Can I dare to throw my support behind Naomi? Come on, Naomi!) Light's interactions with his family are extremely well-written, and his father's suffering really makes this entire volume stand out. And yet, there is still no additional information about our resident god of death... It gets more and more curious.

Now, it's time to move on to volume 3 and descend further into this delightful rabbit hole.

This series, while lacking in overall believability, manages to make up for it with its captivating plot twists and interesting characters. The story takes unexpected turns that keep the reader on the edge of their seat, eager to discover what will happen next. The characters are well-developed and each has their own unique personality and motives.

However, the portrayal of women in the series is still a bit odd and not to my personal liking. In this volume, at least there is actually a female character, which is a step in the right direction. But her characterization could still use some improvement.

Despite these flaws, the series still manages to raise some very interesting questions about morality. It makes the reader think about what is right and wrong and how our actions can have consequences. I'm curious to see where the plot will go from here and how these moral questions will be addressed. Will the characters make the right choices or will they give in to their temptations? Only time will tell.

I was really happy and satisfied with the first volume, and I just couldn't help but buy the second one as well. So my great adventure with "Death Note" by Tsugumi Ohba continues in a big way! I must say that the images are very clear, the quality of the drawings is good and it's also very well-crafted. The manga is always very smooth to read, and this time too, I managed to devour it right away.

The manga, which I bought in Italian, has 208 pages and is published by Planet Manga/Panini Comics; at a price of 4.90 euros.

(I highly recommend to those who haven't read the first volume not to read this review to avoid possible and probable spoilers)

Light Yagami implements a plan to eliminate all the American agents after discovering that one of them was keeping him under control. But despite his successful attempt, L decides to focus his research on the people involved in the agents' investigations. Light, however, is in his sights and will be forced to pay more attention not to be discovered. But is that a camera?

And here again the doubt arises spontaneously... from Light's side or from L's side? As I've already said, I'm attracted to Light and fascinated by L, but I still can't side with either of them. Light doesn't have completely the right, and L is just doing his rightful duty. In theory, I should fully support L, but it's not that easy. It's the first time I'm facing this kind of dilemma. Usually, I can always find the favorite between two, but here it's really difficult. Can I say that I'm neutral and not side with anyone? They are both brilliant... the fact that L almost managed to find Kira makes me a bit nervous, but Light is just as good at hiding all his secrets. We'll see!

The cover is amazing (and in this case too, I'm not saying this just because L is on it).

My vote is as follows: 4.75 stars out of 5.

Okay, this is truly so amazing!

I literally freaked out because I just cannot fathom how incredibly amazing it is. And this is my second time reading it!

The image provided, with its width of 400 and height of 350, adds to the overall impact.

Team Kira all the way and I feel no shame at all! I am completely dedicated to Team Kira.

And I want Ryuk! I would give him all of our apples without hesitation.

Btw, can I say that detective Raye Penber deserved what he got? I seriously disliked the way he talked to his fiancée, Naomi. His attitude towards her was unacceptable and perhaps that led to his downfall.

Overall, this experience has been mind-blowing and I can't wait to explore more.

Death Note isn't a series that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

It doesn't rely on constant thrills and chills to hold your attention. Instead, it takes a more deliberate approach.

It tells you a tale, presenting a story that unfolds in a unique and engaging way.

As the narrative progresses, it provides you with the facts, laying out the details in a clear and understandable manner.

This allows you, the viewer or reader, to draw your own conclusions.

You can analyze the events, the characters, and their actions, and form your own opinions about what is happening and why.

It encourages critical thinking and invites you to be an active participant in the story, rather than simply being a passive observer.

In this way, Death Note offers a different kind of viewing or reading experience, one that challenges you to think and engage with the material on a deeper level.

Gods of death are addicted to APPLES? Haha. Great!

It's an interesting and rather humorous thought. The idea of gods of death, those mysterious and often feared figures, having a penchant for apples is quite unexpected. One can't help but wonder what it is about apples that would attract these powerful deities. Maybe there's some hidden property in the apples that gives them a certain allure. Or perhaps it's just a strange quirk of the gods of death. It could also be a play on the traditional association of apples with various myths and legends. Whatever the reason, the concept is sure to capture the imagination and bring a smile to people's faces. It shows that even in the realm of the supernatural, there can be elements of lightheartedness and fun.

In this second volume, the story takes a much darker turn, making it extremely difficult to determine whose side I truly support!

We are finally introduced to L, who is quite an enigma. He is rather peculiar, being very young for a brilliant detective, yet simultaneously incredibly captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed witnessing the intense battle of wits between L and Light, with each believing they are gaining the upper hand, but neither quite able to achieve it. L is definitely edging closer to uncovering the true identity of Kira.

This volume also presents a new adversary for Light in the form of Naomi, the fiancee of the FBI agent who was shadowing Light. She is intelligent, and observing how Light copes with her is truly fascinating.

Overall, this volume is an outstanding read that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!
