Ochi admires Toya and hopes to be seen as a potential rival and equal, but he soon realizes that Toya's only concern is Shindo. Toya has an ulterior motive as well; he's using Ochi as a proxy to gauge Shindo's strength on the goban. Let's just say their relationship isn't exactly courteous or friendly.

To prove to Ochi that he should take Shindo seriously, despite what he's heard about Shindo's strength during the Pro Exam, Toya shows him Shindo's game with Hon Suyon (from tankobon 9). Toya's School Go Club Adviser witnessed the match and shared the kifu (record) with him. Later, to further emphasize that Ochi should be cautious of Shindo, Toya shows him the second game he played with Shindo (or rather Sai through Shindo), which really scares Ochi.

All in all, this tankobon is filled with dramatic tension, and there's a promise of more drama and pressure to come, as the very last match that Shindo has to play in his Pro Exam is against Ochi. I'm eagerly anticipating reading the next tankobon.
