It is fascinating to observe how the authors effectively convey Hikaru's intense desire to become stronger. This longing stems from his hope that Akira will take notice of him.

The way Hikaru approaches the game, his determination and focus, all contribute to the development of his character.

Moreover, the mention of Sai brings a sense of foreboding. There is an air of mystery and uncertainty surrounding his presence.

One cannot help but wonder what role Sai will play in Hikaru's journey and what events might unfold as a result.

The combination of Hikaru's growth and the enigma of Sai makes this story all the more captivating and engaging.

It leaves the reader on the edge of their seat, eagerly anticipating what will happen next.

This is an absolutely fantastic series, whether you consider it as a manga or as an anime. I've noticed an interesting difference between the two mediums. In the anime, Sueyong Hong, the twelve-year-old Go player from Korea, is depicted as speaking English directly. However, in the manga, the words are shown in parentheses as English, but they are being translated from Korean by an older man so that Shindo can understand what he is saying. In this particular aspect, I have a preference for the Funimation anime version.

Otherwise, the manga and the anime are almost perfectly alike. This volume specifically marks the first actual episode of the beginning of the Pro Test. It's quite remarkable that only four guys have managed to win all six of their first Pro games (a total of 28 games in all), namely Ochi, Isumi, Waya, and Shindo.

I'm really looking forward to reading Volume 10 next. I was so impressed with this volume that I毫不犹豫地 gave it 5 stars! It truly is a great addition to the series and I can't wait to see what else is in store.

The simultaneous tie games were super interesting.

It was truly a captivating sight to behold. Multiple games ending in a tie at the same time, creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation.

The players on both sides showed great skill and determination, with neither side willing to give in easily.

The spectators were on the edge of their seats, cheering and applauding for their favorite teams.

It was a display of sportsmanship and competition at its finest.

The simultaneous tie games not only provided entertainment but also served as a reminder of the unpredictability and excitement that sports can bring.

It was an event that will be remembered by all who witnessed it.

I love this series to an extent that far exceeds what I could have ever imagined when I first picked it up.

The art in this series is truly remarkable. You can actually witness Hikaru and his age-mates maturing throughout the course of the series. It's like watching a beautiful transformation unfold right before your eyes.

And let's not forget about the story. It's engaging, thrilling, and full of heart. Hikaru is probably my favorite character, but I have a soft spot for all of the other characters as well. I find myself rooting for each and every one of them.

I want Hikaru to succeed, but the tension of the pro test and the desperation of all those involved in it make me feel for everyone. It's a complex and emotional journey that keeps me on the edge of my seat.

The only thing I wish for is that new volumes of HnG were published a little bit faster. The wait between new volumes can be quite painful, especially when I'm on an emotional high from the latest volume. I can't wait to see what happens next in this amazing series.

So far, I'm truly relishing this series. However, I must exclude volumes 5 and 6 as they were the weakest in the series up until now. Watching Hikaru's games in this volume was an absolute delight. Even though I still don't have a profound understanding of how to play go, perhaps I should review some of those tips that Yumi Hotta provided in the initial few volumes once again. The only aspect that didn't appeal to me was Akira's match against the assemblyman and his supporters. That part was rather dull. This is precisely the reason why this doesn't receive a full 5 stars.

I really AM rooting for everyone during the Pro Test.
