Most fans I've spoken to really like this arc, but in my opinion, it was rather underwhelming.

A significant number of the twists emerged out of nowhere, with minimal, if any, build-up. This effectively drained any potential emotional impact the climax might have had.

From what I can discern, the Yama/Shura arc seems to serve as foreshadowing for several books further down the line. However, I think CLAMP might have sacrificed the story aspect for the sake of cryptic dialogue that won't bear fruit for another four volumes.

I love the concept that the group can be split up when being transported to different worlds. But I was really eager to see what Kurogane and Fai were up to in Yama while the kids were idling in Shura. The mystery of where the older duo ended up and whether they would be reunited felt a bit lackluster, with what seemed like a hasty conclusion.

I wouldn't claim that it was out of character for Kurogane and Fai to act as they did, but I would have preferred to witness a bit more build-up to the situation.

Ashura and Yasha's subplot definitely felt rushed, with a rather abrupt "oh but they were in love" ending that was supported by only a few lines of dialogue. I like Ashura, but she definitely required more development.

This volume isn't all bad, though! The art, as always, is dynamic and fluid, which is perfect for the battle scenes. CLAMP has definitely made progress in this regard since the start of Tsubasa. Yuuko working behind the scenes to assist the travelers is really cool, as is the stipulation that she has to work through others to actually bring about any change.

We got a glimpse into Fei Wang's motivations and a bit of Syaoran's backstory, but it's hard to say whether this will have any payoff in the next few volumes.

Also, there were a few translation errors, but I'll just have to accept them. I really like the translation team behind Tsubasa; I just wish they had given everything one more thorough check.

Personally, I liked the action, the confusion, and the interactions more. I had almost forgotten all of that. However, it's really cool, and they are gradually revealing things about Xiao and Fei Wang.

The story seems to have a lot of potential, with its complex characters and mysterious plot. The action scenes are likely to be exciting, keeping the readers on the edge of their seats.

The element of confusion adds an air of mystery, making the readers eager to find out what will happen next.

Continuing with the adventure, the fact that they went to a parallel world to the one they were already in seems extremely great to me.

Once again, they find themselves on different sides. Sakura and Syaoran on one side, and Kurogane and Fye on the other. This situation will be taken advantage of by Kurogane to continue training Syaoran, which will cause some confusions but turns out to be a part full of a lot of action, where Kurogane shows himself to be a rival with great strength and skill.

We will meet Ashura-ou and Asha-ou, who hold some secrets that we will gradually discover and that will serve in the journey of our protagonists.

We know a little more about the plans of the villains and the great power of Yuko, who has an important participation in this volume. Although, of course, there are still things that are not entirely clear.

However, the entire development of this part of the story turns out to be one of the best and is greatly enjoyed with those small unexpected twists, with an ending that undoubtedly makes you want to know how this part of the adventure will end.

I have a particular fondness for two characters in it. Firstly, there's Mokonda, who is like a "white pork bun". He has a certain charm and uniqueness that makes him stand out.
