For so long I haven't read this, and I even forgot about it! As a fan of Card Captor Sakura, I was once so excited to welcome this comic. Sigh. I still remember how enthusiastic I was to collect the first dozen volumes of this series. It feels like a reunion with the characters of CLAMP from various generations.
And it's really great because some characters whose fates were tragic in the original series like Sorata, Arashi, and Souma, can have a much better life in another dimension. I'm curious. In which volume will the opening scene of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle actually be revealed, huh?
A story of love that transcends time and space. This manga is truly a captivating piece that is filled with a nice amount of magic, adventure, and soul. All of these elements unfold within the enchanting CLAMP universe. One of the great things about this manga is that you don't necessarily need to have prior knowledge of other CLAMP creations. However, if you do, it will surely enhance your overall experience. The story takes you on a thrilling journey, with unexpected twists and turns along the way. The end, in particular, has a great twist that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Although the intertwining timelines can be a bit confusing at times, they add an extra layer of complexity and depth to the story. Overall, this manga series is a must-read for fans of magical adventures and love stories that defy the boundaries of time and space.
One of my all-time favorite manga series is definitely "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle" (TRC). It consists of a whopping 28 volumes and is truly one of the most mind-bending and brain-torturing series ever. Just when you think you have a grip on what's going on, CLAMP, the brilliant minds behind it, reveals yet another piece of the intricate puzzle. The series completed its serialization a year ago, and this week, I couldn't resist rereading the entire thing. Even now, I find myself still grappling with trying to fit all the pieces together. It's that engaging and thought-provoking!
TRC takes the beloved characters from "CardCaptor Sakura" and whisks them through multiple worlds in a desperate search for the scattered fragments of Sakura's memories. This series has it all: murder, magic, love, hate, and the concept of hitsuzen (destiny). There's truly something for everyone to enjoy. What makes it even more exciting is the heavy reliance on cameos from beloved characters from CLAMP's other works. Fans of their other series will have a blast seeing these familiar faces popping up all over the place in TRC.
If your brain can withstand the countless plot twists and turns, then I wholeheartedly recommend that you give this series a read. It's an experience like no other!
I'm currently engaged in rereading the manga that I possess. Honestly, I don't have a distinct recollection of my initial feelings towards Tsubasa. Perhaps I wasn't truly captivated by the series at that time (which is understandable considering I only own the first three volumes). However, upon reading it now, I find the first volume to be really charming. I'm well aware that the series takes a significant turn and becomes far less cute and much more profound as it progresses.
I haven't delved deeply into the works of CLAMP, but I've always been intrigued by their art style. It has a certain allure that sets it apart. Moreover, the concept of reusing characters is also quite unique. It adds an extra layer of complexity and familiarity to their stories.
As I continue to reread Tsubasa, I'm looking forward to uncovering more of its hidden gems and experiencing the evolution of the plot and characters. I suspect that this second reading will offer me a全新的 perspective and a deeper appreciation for this manga series.
