MY FLIPPING FEEELS!!!

\\"How can a man, who was given terrible powers at birth...escape his destiny?\\" This question lingers in my mind as I immerse myself in this amazing story.

Noriko is not just a great heroine; she is truly remarkable. She knows her limits, which is a trait that every protagonist should possess. She is smart and uses her brain as intended, knowing when to stay out of the way and when to act. This makes her a successful and likable character, not the annoying kind that we often see.

The love interest, Izark, is equally wonderful. He has a troubled past that tugs at your heartstrings. His mother tried to kill him, scarring him for life. Despite this, he is a precious baby who needs love. The romance between him and Noriko is not overwhelming or angsty; it is well done and has already made me shed tears.

It's obvious that Izark is hopelessly in love with Noriko, but he doesn't realize it yet. And when Noriko discovers what he is, she couldn't care less. Their relationship is like that scene in volume 6 of Fruits Basket, except with a kiss scene.

The bonus chapter that delved deeper into Izark's past nearly broke my heart. If you haven't read this series yet, you should definitely give it a try. Unfortunately, it's out of print, but you can still find it on Viz's digital store or through scans. Viz, please reprint this series!

It seems that I lost interest as soon as the new character appeared.

I don't know why, but the background story of the new character is not interesting at all. One is that mother. It's too unbelievable that the daughter is more adult than the mother. Then, it's hard to believe that the man who works in that reliable government would marry such a ditzy woman.

The new character's introduction didn't capture my attention. The lackluster background details failed to engage me. The relationship between the mother and daughter, as well as the pairing of the man and the woman, seem rather implausible.

Perhaps more effort could have been put into developing the new character's story to make it more captivating and believable. As it stands now, it simply doesn't hold my interest.

It's more of a 3.5 stars.

I still firmly believe that Kyoko Hikawa isn't particularly outstanding when it comes to drawing. If you take a close look at her depictions of animals or her close-up shots, it becomes evident that her drawings are lacking in details. The lines seem a bit rough and the overall appearance lacks the finesse that one might expect.

However, this aspect isn't overly crucial. What truly matters is that the story remains more than just good. I have a genuine liking for Izark and Noriko as well. Now, we have finally grasped the true nature of Izark, and this revelation has made him even more captivating. And Noriko continues to improve with each passing chapter. She's not entirely helpless; although perhaps there are moments when she shows vulnerability, she always manages to give her best and come to the aid of everyone around her.

I have a particular fondness for the bonus story at the end. The author skillfully narrates the tale of how Gaya and Izark met and how she imparted the knowledge of using a sword to him. This provides valuable insights into their lives prior to meeting Noriko, adding depth and richness to the overall narrative.

Now, it's time to move on to volume #6 with great anticipation.

A lovely "back in time" manga - much better done than most.

This manga takes readers on a charming journey through time. The story is engaging and filled with interesting characters. The art style is beautiful, with detailed illustrations that bring the past to life.

What sets this manga apart is its attention to historical detail. The author has clearly done their research, and it shows in the accurate portrayal of different time periods.

Readers will find themselves immersed in the story, eagerly turning the pages to see what happens next. Whether you're a fan of manga or just interested in history, this is a great read that is sure to delight.

Overall, this "back in time" manga is a must-read for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable story. It's a wonderful example of how manga can be both entertaining and educational.

I absolutely love that after all the hardships Izark had endured and the complex he had developed about himself, Noriko's first response upon seeing Izark's beast form, perhaps more than anyone else ever has, including himself, is to beg him not to leave. She is thinking about how unbearable it would be without him again. Then, she professes her love for him and kisses him in his demonic form, saying she doesn't mind how he looks or what he is as long as he is still Izark.

Besides just these two, I also enjoy seeing Banadam expressing his affection for Noriko. It's very cute and pure. I feel as though Noriko continuously surprises Izark, and that's somehow beneficial for him. But I wonder what her love and affection for Izark will do for him physically. Besides her mere presence, do her actions also accelerate his awakening?

I really liked Irktule, the spirit of the morning mist tree. He was extremely beautiful, very serene, and overall a very pleasant, beautiful, and mysterious character. The story of that village is heartbreaking, yet it's also bittersweet. They were finally freed by the tree they cared so much for, with the help of the Awakening, the Sky Demon, and their companions.

Additionally, Gaya and Izark's meeting is cute. If he was 17 when they met and it was 2 years ago, then he must be 19 now. I think I estimated Noriko to be 16 at the start, but I don't quite remember. They're not too far apart in age. I can now understand how and why Izark trusts her as he does. He likely has a great deal of respect for her as well as some attachment. In a roundabout way, he owes a lot to Gaya. Whether he feels that way precisely is uncertain, but she is definitely someone special to him.

Lastly, I quite like how this manga depicts blushing and other such emotions to signify normal, human reactions among each other, as opposed to strictly romantic tropes like in modern manga. I, too, blush with my friends, whether it's due to embarrassment or because someone has warmed up to me when they hadn't before, or even for many other reasons. My heart can skip a beat or race for a variety of emotions, not just romantic ones. I like that you can see this type of thing being portrayed on their faces. I don't see it often anymore in newer manga unless it's for the purpose of shipping. This simply feels warm and, at times, exciting.

"He told me that I could do a lot just by being who I am. If I can do important things and be who I am I should do those things first before trying to change."

Oh geeze, the sexual tension in this story is absolutely killing me! It's so palpable that it almost jumps out of the page.

And it's not just the two protagonists who are creating this intense atmosphere. The secondary characters play a crucial role in enhancing the story as well.

They bring in their own unique personalities, motives, and relationships, which add depth and complexity to the overall narrative.

Their presence not only enriches the story but also provides additional layers of interest and excitement.

It's truly amazing how well the author has developed these secondary characters and integrated them into the plot.

They really make the story come alive and keep the readers on the edge of their seats.

I can't wait to see how their storylines unfold and how they will continue to impact the lives of the protagonists.

As if being dumped down into a completely fantastical and strange world that doesn’t speak her language or play by her rules wasn’t bad enough.

Noriko faces bigger enemies in this volume and feels more powerless than ever. She can’t help her friends or fight the bad guys, all she can do is be herself. But will that prove to be enough?

It turns out being herself is more powerful than Noriko originally thought. However, she isn’t the only one showing her true colors. Izark finally breaks down and reveals his true self to Noriko, and the result ends up shocking them both.

This volume delivers two fantastic, worth the wait, reveals. One is Izark’s long-kept secret that he now shares with Noriko, and the other is a flashback to Izark’s childhood and his struggles right after he left home. Both were exciting to read about, and I’m glad this twist has come along. It will be interesting to see where things go from here.

The author is still interrupting herself a bit, but it’s becoming less, which is good. Her side panels throughout the volume responding to fan mail are very annoying and keep coming in during key tense and emotional scenes in the book. That I could really do without.

Overall, this volume has its strengths and weaknesses. The story is engaging with its interesting reveals and character developments, but the author’s interruptions and annoying side panels do take away from the reading experience to some extent. Nevertheless, I’m still looking forward to seeing how the story progresses in the next volume.

AH! Be still my heart! That is all.

I'm going against the grain of a rambling review, but rest assured this volume did NOT disappoint. It had a unique charm that lulled me into a slow burn. The story gradually built up the tension and anticipation, and then it suddenly caught fire. I'm especially looking at you, Izark and Noriko. Their relationship added an extra layer of excitement to the plot.

I want whoever reads this to be just as surprised and delighted when THAT moment arrives. You'll know it when you see it. It's one of those moments that will make your heart race and leave you on the edge of your seat. So, don't miss out on this amazing volume. It's definitely worth reading.
