3.5 "I can't erase...Noriko's face from my mind."

This volume contains a one shot by the same mangaka, which makes it much shorter. Izark realizes that he must leave Noriko in a place he trusts before moving on with his life. Despite his earlier doubts, he now believes that Noriko won't reveal that she might be the Awakening. So, he entrusts her to a friend. What follows is a heart-wrenching scene where Noriko thanks Izark, but he can't bear to look at her and leaves. Fortunately, we get to see his perspective, which clears up the confusion.

Noriko has been in this world for 3 months and has made significant progress in learning Izark's language. This is truly impressive and motivating. I'm learning Japanese myself, and if I could achieve what Noriko has in just 3 months, I'd be overjoyed. It makes sense that she's able to learn so quickly since she's constantly surrounded by the language and needs to learn it to survive. It's refreshing to see such a complex issue being developed in this way.

Later, when politics and other factors come into play, Noriko's caretaker is threatened, and she soon finds herself in need of Izark's help. Unfortunately, he's been captured by a Duke. It seems that Izark might be more attached to Noriko than he initially thought ;)

Awww, this volume is truly quite sad. Izark and Noriko have separated, and danger seems to be lurking all around them.

There is a great deal of action in this volume, which keeps the story moving at a brisk pace. At the same time, there is also a lot of pining between the two main characters, which is simply adorable.

Despite the sadness and danger, there is something about this volume that I just can't resist. Maybe it's the chemistry between Izark and Noriko, or maybe it's the exciting plot. Either way, I love it... a lot.

I can't wait to see what happens next in their story.

Welcome to Volume 3 of From Far Away. As this volume demonstrates, no action does not necessarily mean inaction!

When we last left our duo, they had left Calco and were headed...somewhere farther away. Noriko's language difficulties were gradually lessening, and things seemed to be progressing smoothly. However, there were still some issues lurking in the background. Keimos was out there somewhere, and Lord Rachef was with him. Noriko's possible status as the destroyer of worlds was a concern, and Izark was unhappy about it.

We pick up the story approximately three months after Noriko landed in this world. She is frantic because Izark has left her behind. The long and short of it is that they arrived at a small town, and Noriko started chatting about how she met Izark. True to his nature, Izark decided they needed space and left her in the care of a friend. Noriko is upset but eventually reasons that he wouldn't have left her if he didn't trust the woman and believe she would be safe.

I must emphasize again that Noriko's practical approach to matters is truly refreshing. (This is especially noticeable when compared to Miaka in Fushigi Yugi, which I was also reading in 2004.)

Here's where Izark unfortunately needs to stop trying to escape fate. He leaves her with his friend, who happens to be on friendly terms with the newly deposed leader of the city she lives in. To make matters worse, she decides to harbor this deposed leader, and fighting ensues.

We also meet Barago (who becomes important later), and Noriko meets Agol & Geena Haas (who have left Rachef's service). Izark feels a pain in his chest when he thinks of leaving Noriko behind, and then he gets kidnapped. For once, it's the capable warrior man who is kidnapped, not the damsel in distress.

There is also a short story - chapter 3 of "Girls Have a Lot of Room in Their Hearts" or Onnanoko wa Yoyuu. I always found it strange that this was included because the first two chapters were not officially translated in America, so the full nuance of the story is lost. The basic plot is that Tomomi was originally in love with her best friend, but he loved another classmate. Heartbroken, she finds her senpai, Ojika, trying to win her heart. This final chapter shows how the previous two chapters culminate. It's a sweet slice-of-life manga, very much in line with Hikawa's other series that I love, like Chizumi & Fujiomi.

The plot thickens!

I truly have a soft spot for those cute little end stories. It's like a sweet treat at the end of a delicious meal. And so, without further ado, let's move on to the next one!

Number 4, to be precise. I'm over the moon that this series has come to an end. Usually, I'm left on tenterhooks, eagerly waiting for the next installment. But not this time! It's such a refreshing change. I can't help but give it a big five stars. It's been a wonderful journey, and I'm glad to have been a part of it.

What was that cliff hanger?!

It left me on the edge of my seat, my heart pounding with anticipation. I couldn't believe how the story had suddenly taken such a thrilling turn.

The author had masterfully built up the tension, leading me to believe that everything was going to be resolved in a certain way. But then, out of nowhere, came that cliff hanger.

Now, I find myself constantly thinking about what might happen next. Will the main character be able to overcome the obstacle? Will they find a way out of the dangerous situation?

I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment to find out. This cliff hanger has truly piqued my interest and made me eager to continue reading.

It's amazing how a single moment in a story can have such a powerful impact on the reader. That cliff hanger has left an indelible mark on my mind and has made this story one that I won't soon forget.

I have a deep affection for this manga. However, I was extremely disappointed when I discovered that nearly half of this volume was occupied by some other work of this author. What's more, it wasn't even a complete story but merely chapter THREE of something. I found this bonus work rather confusing and disjointed. It completely spoiled all the pleasure I had derived from following the story of Noriko and Izark.

Noriko is truly emerging as one of my favorite heroines in the fantasy genre. She is not foolish. Instead, she is making the best of the situation and doesn't waste her time crying and being in a state of hysteria. The storyline itself is intricate and rich in politics, just as it ought to be. The world depicted is truly fascinating.

Consequently, my disappointment regarding being presented with something else to read is understandable. Especially an earlier work that clearly doesn't showcase the true talent of this artist.

I am hopeful that future volumes will focus more intensively on Noriko. I still highly recommend this series, but this particular volume simply doesn't meet the author's typical standard.

Oh~, that ending is really bad. I might seriously die. Making me so excited and then betraying that excitement by cutting it off at the climax!?! It's too much!?!?! I have to wait until tomorrow! Twenty-four hours! How am I going to do it?!

Like the appearance of Isaac! How is Isaac's Noriko going to overcome this trial? Like! Now everyone is doubting Isaac, well, it can't be helped, right? Since he attached his cut-off arm again, I should also be doubting. But, I think there is some deep meaning! Noriko and Isaac might be the messiahs of this world, and all the fortune-tellers might be wrong. Aaaaaaaaaah, I'm so frustrated! I want to read it!!!

It's really torture to have to wait for the next part. I keep thinking about what might happen next. Will Isaac and Noriko prove themselves? Will they overcome all the difficulties and become the saviors of the world? I can't wait to find out. The anticipation is killing me. I hope tomorrow comes quickly so that I can continue reading and satisfy my curiosity.

It's probably worth noting that a full third of this volume is taken up by an unrelated story.

This story is a painfully unoriginal modern day thing.

It seems to lack any sort of creativity or innovation.

One wonders why it was included in the first place.

Perhaps the author thought it would add some sort of depth or variety to the volume, but in reality, it just feels out of place.

It doesn't seem to fit with the overall theme or tone of the rest of the work.

As a result, it detracts from the overall reading experience.

It's a shame, really, because the rest of the volume may have had some potential if it wasn't for this unnecessary addition.

Hopefully, in future works, the author will be more discerning about what they include and focus on creating something truly unique and engaging.

Three months have passed.

Noriko is making good progress in learning the language of this new world. However, it is also the end of her journey with Izark, who leaves her in the care of Gaya as her guardian. But unfortunately, trouble soon rears its ugly head, and Noriko is left all by herself.

The Grand Duke Jeida, his two sons, and Banadam are captured by Kemil's followers.

Lord Nava's warriors manage to capture Izark and force him to fight in his arena.

Meanwhile, Noriko meets Agol Dena Orfa and Geena Hans, who have been tirelessly searching for her and Izark.

The story continues to unfold, with many more adventures and challenges awaiting Noriko and her companions.

To be continued...

A lovely "back in time" manga - much better done than most.

This manga takes readers on a charming journey through time. The story is engaging and filled with interesting plot twists that keep you hooked from start to finish.

The characters are well-developed and each has their own unique personality. You can't help but root for them as they face various challenges and try to find their way back to the present.

The art style is also very appealing. The illustrations are detailed and bring the story to life. The colors are vibrant and add to the overall atmosphere of the manga.

Overall, this is a must-read manga for anyone who loves time-travel stories or just enjoys a good manga. It's a great example of how a well-done manga can transport you to another world and make you forget about your own for a while.
