3.5/5 Stars

This rating indicates that the product or service being evaluated has a decent level of quality. It's not perfect, but it does have several positive aspects.

Perhaps it offers good value for money, with features and functionality that meet the basic needs of most users. The design might be aesthetically pleasing, although it could use some improvements in terms of usability.

On the other hand, there may be a few areas where it falls short. Maybe the performance is not quite as smooth as expected, or there are some minor glitches or bugs that need to be addressed.

Overall, a 3.5-star rating suggests that the product or service is a solid choice, but it may not be the top pick in its category. It's important to consider your own specific requirements and priorities when deciding whether it's the right fit for you.

Noriko and Izark part ways in this third volume of Kyoko Hikawa's epic fourteen-volume manga series.

The story follows a contemporary Japanese schoolgirl, Noriko, who is transported to another world. Her arrival, known as the "Awakening," has been foretold. She becomes involved with a wandering warrior, Izark, who has a connection to the same prophecy.

Izark leaves Noriko in the care of Gaya, a gruff but kindhearted person. He sets off on his own, determined to forget Noriko. However, Noriko's presence is set to bring cataclysmic changes to his world.

Noriko tries to adapt to life at Gaya's but loses this new protector when Grand Duke Jeida seeks shelter at her house and it is attacked by his enemy, Grand Duke Kemil.

Noriko and Izark, now far apart, face different challenges. Noriko is pursued through the streets by a gang of young men, while Izark is harassed by men who want to fight him for the entertainment of Lord Nada.

Despite their separation, there is still a connection between them. Izark hears Noriko's cries for help from miles away, indicating a strong metaphysical bond. The pain they feel at parting also shows a strong emotional connection.

There are hints of Izark's curse in the beginning scene, where he fights monsters and other travelers. Noriko begins to figure out that she is the Awakening, despite the language barrier.

I enjoyed this installment and the revelations it brought about the main characters and their relationship. The appearance of Agol Dena Ofa and his blind seeress daughter, Geena Haas, in the unnamed town where Gaya lives, intrigues me. I suspect they will be allies for Noriko.

Overall, this was an engaging entry in the series that left me wanting more. The inclusion of an unrelated story at the back was a bit odd, but aside from that, it was an entertaining book that I would recommend to readers who enjoy romantic-fantasy manga.

I have a certain fondness for the concept of this world and the things that I envision are going to take place. However, it slightly annoys me that the only characters who stand out are Noriko and Izark. The story, in and of itself, isn't really captivating me to a great extent either.

Nonetheless, I am determined to carry on. There might be something more that lies ahead, something that could potentially change my perception. Maybe there are hidden depths to the story or other characters who will emerge and add more dimension. I am willing to give it a chance and see where it leads.

Who knows, perhaps as I progress further, I will discover the true essence and魅力 of this world and the story will finally grip me and draw me in completely.

They’re apart for most of this volume, which is a bit of a letdown.

So, I gotta knock a star off.

Moreover, it has another manga promo story at the back.

This means that, in terms of the main plot, it's shorter than some of the others.

However, despite these drawbacks, I'm still completely obsessed with the series as a whole.

The overall concept, the characters, and the world-building are just so engaging that I can't help but keep coming back for more.

Even with this volume's shortcomings, it still manages to hold my interest and leave me eager to see what happens next in the story.

I'm sure that future volumes will make up for any disappointments in this one and continue to deliver the high-quality entertainment that I've come to expect from this series.

What’s with that "see you tomorrow" thing at the end?

No thanks. I really don't understand why people always feel the need to say that. It seems so obligatory and sometimes even insincere.

Maybe it's just a common phrase used to end a conversation, but it doesn't always have to be that way. There are so many other ways to say goodbye that can be more meaningful and personal.

For example, we could say "take care" or "have a great day" or even just a simple "goodbye". These phrases show that we actually care about the person and wish them well.

So, the next time you're about to say "see you tomorrow", think about whether it's really necessary. Maybe you can come up with a more unique and heartfelt way to end the conversation.

Noriko has made significant progress in learning the native language of her new world. She can now decipher most things and communicate in broken sentences. This newfound ability both helps and endangers her as she jokes about her own identity. Izark manages to convey to her that her memories, although not false, must be hidden and replaced with another story. However, she doesn't understand why, other than the fact that the truth of her identity is bad. Gradually, she realizes that she might be exactly what everyone fears and is desperately trying to find.

Meanwhile, Izark is grappling with his growing feelings of affection for Noriko and his strong desire to protect her. I have the sense that their connection goes beyond imprinting, bonding, or even curses. It seems as if there is something more at work. While it is evident that a large part of their connection stems from the fact that Noriko is the Awakening and Izark appears to be the Sky Demon, only time will tell if there is something else entirely.

P.S. The one-shot story at the end was charming, but it felt like a random chapter from a multi-chapter manga. It was a bit strange, lacking any resolution or conclusion. I suppose the enjoyment and mystery were to be found in the middle, in Tomomi's observations of life in Japan, especially in Japanese schools.

That was really weird.

It wasn't entirely focused on the story of Noriko and Izark. Instead, there was also a bonus story which was, quite frankly, dull!

I still have my reservations about the art by Hikawa-sensei. However, when it comes to the plot, that's a different story altogether: it's extremely interesting.

Noriko is your typical Japanese girl, but she has that certain something that sets her apart and makes her special. She is more than ready to defend Izark and fight for him.

And it's rather nice, for a change, that the guy is the first to experience those special feelings for the girl, while she probably doesn't feel the same way at this point.

The bonus story was, well, I don't really know. It was as if it was just taped on there because there were pages that needed to be filled.

Nonetheless, I'm really looking forward to volume #4.

Izark was drugged o.O

This is a truly alarming situation. Izark, who was once a strong and capable individual, has now fallen victim to this insidious act. The effects of the drug are unknown, but it is clear that he is in a vulnerable state.

Meanwhile, Noriko is also in danger. With Izark incapacitated, she may be left without protection. We don't know what kind of threat she is facing, but it could be anything from a physical attack to a more subtle form of danger.

It is essential that we act quickly to help both Izark and Noriko. We need to find out who drugged Izark and why, and we must also ensure that Noriko is safe. This may require the assistance of the authorities or other trained professionals.

In the meantime, we can only hope that Izark will recover from the drug and that Noriko will be able to avoid harm. We must stay vigilant and do everything we can to protect those we care about.

"Good job, honey."

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! This volume is truly one of the BEST parts of the series so far! I've read it no less than 3 times, and each time, I couldn't help but laugh out loud because it's just so precious and funny!

These two characters continue to be the ultimate ship, although I was completely heartbroken and crushed by Izark's decision in this installment! There was a moment when I literally wished I could have shaken him and shouted, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IZARK?!?!!" with a big sigh. Later on, we see him realize the error of his ways, but it feels way too late, and it's just like, WHY MUST IT END ON THIS CLIFFHANGER!!! GAHHHHHH!!

*coughs*

But I digress…It was really awesome to see a new aspect to their friendship/relationship. Noriko calls for him, and it's clear she's feeling all kinds of things! On top of that, my heart was breaking for Noriko. She's trying so hard, and she really deserved a bear hug in this one. My favorite part was definitely the beginning because it was happier than what comes later. LOL!

I also LOVED Auntie, as well as Agol and Geena! Auntie was intimidating when we first met her, but she definitely has a heart of gold! And Agol! Ah, I love his relationship with his daughter. They're both so precious together on the page, and I'm really excited to see more of them, even though we now know who he's working for, and I'm a little nervous about that. For now, though, I'm just enjoying the fact that nothing "bad" is happening and just savoring their moments with Noriko. <3

Overall, this was such a great volume! I confess that I got a bit lost with the politics near the end (and I really disliked Izark's decision LOL), so I deducted a star. But I still very much love and enjoy this series!! It's truly wonderful.

In this series, we encounter the third best person, Gaya.

Meanwhile, Noriko is beginning to understand that emerging from the sea of trees holds greater significance than she initially realized.

I believe this marks the commencement of important characters crossing paths and the introduction of political elements into the story.

The art in this series is truly breathtaking.

It adds an extra layer of beauty and allure to the narrative, captivating the readers and enhancing their overall experience.

The detailed illustrations bring the characters and the world they inhabit to life, making it easier for the audience to immerse themselves in the story.

As the story progresses, we can expect more interesting developments and interactions between the characters, further fueling our anticipation for what lies ahead.

Overall, this series shows great promise and has the potential to become a memorable and engaging read.

"Kanata Kara" by Kyoko Hikawa has been my absolute favorite Shoujo Manga from the early 90s until now, and I firmly believe it will remain my most beloved for many years to come.
"Kanata Kara" is the sole shoujo manga that can rival shounen manga. Hikawa has the remarkable ability to exquisitely blend a love story with an engaging adventure and thrilling fighting scenes. Moreover, she incorporates some excellent moral lessons within it.
