I’ve never read a manga before, so this review is unfortunately quite brutal. However, I have to get it out there.

This book was wild, just like its title, but perhaps a bit too much so. Now, I do recognize that having nothing to compare it to is really unfair. My exposure to manga is so limited that it’s extremely hard for me to form a reasonable opinion.

I read this manga cover to cover. Given its popularity, I simply had to check it out for myself.

Mostly, my low rating is due to my ignorance and lack of knowledge about manga. It’s truly my downfall.

Nevertheless, I did want to branch out of my typical reading habits and try something different.

The story is so crazy that it’s difficult for me to fully grasp, even though I generally enjoy fantasy and sci-fi novels. But still, I’m glad I read it, even if it was a bit bizarre.

Overall, this experience has made me realize how much I have yet to learn about the world of manga. Maybe with more exposure, my opinion will change.

First of all, the book I read isn't listed yet as I had the privilege of reading an early-release review copy. It's none other than the first Phantom Blood book. And let me tell you, this book was absolutely crazy!

It is so masculine that it could potentially make even the most feminine of chests sprout hair. In the first half, it features the world's burliest twelve-year-olds, which is quite a sight to behold. Moreover, it doesn't hold back when it comes to the violence in the fight scenes.

However, it also contains some very upsetting animal cruelty. To be honest, if I wasn't reading this book for work purposes, I would have put it down right after Dio punched the dog. And unfortunately, it only gets much worse from there.

Dio is undoubtedly one of the most repulsive villains in literature. But on the flip side, I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the Jojos take him down in the future installments.

In a nutshell, this book is definitely not for the faint of heart. But if you have a penchant for good old seinen beat-em-ups, then this one is at the top of the line. (A more in-depth review will eventually be published on the Anime News Network.)

Boys own adventure, rugby, boxing and English manor houses? There seems to be no real reason for the animosity between JoJo and Dio. In fact, there doesn't seem to be a proper reason for anything in the entire series. Especially when it comes to the oversized male toons and the brutalised, marginalised and toy-like females. It's quite concerning.

This manga is overrated, boring and irrelevant. It's so bad that I can easily envision myself buying lighter fluid and burning it. It's that unappealing to me.

By giving JOJO'S BIZARRE ADEVNTURE one star, I mean only one thing. It is totally and completely crap and can be avoided at great benefit to yourself. You would be better off spending your time on something else that is more engaging and worthwhile.

The story has been a little bit confusing up until this point, and it's rather hard to fully understand. However, I truly have a deep love for the art. The illustrations are simply captivating, drawing me in and making me eager to explore more.

Moreover, the characters in this story are just awesome. Each one has their own unique charm and personality that makes them stand out. They add a great deal of depth and interest to the overall narrative.

Despite the initial confusion, I find myself constantly engaged with this story because of the wonderful art and the amazing characters. I'm looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds and how these elements continue to develop.

I'm sure that as I read further, everything will become clearer, and I'll be able to fully appreciate the story in all its glory.

My favorite manga has always been a source of great joy and inspiration for me. However, lately, I have noticed that the character designs in the latest seasons have become rather lackluster in my opinion. It's a bit disappointing because the unique and captivating character designs were one of the main reasons I was initially drawn to this manga. The new designs seem to lack the creativity and charm that the previous ones had. They appear to be more generic and less distinct, making it harder for me to form a strong connection with the characters. I hope that in the future, the manga creators will return to the original style of character design or at least find a way to bring back the magic and individuality that made the earlier seasons so special.
