**Great title**

In today's fast-paced world, people are constantly on the go.

We are so busy with our daily lives that we often forget to take a moment and appreciate the simple things.

However, it is these simple things that can bring us the most joy and happiness.

For example, a beautiful sunrise, a gentle breeze, or a smile from a stranger.

These are the things that make life worth living.

We should make an effort to slow down and notice these small pleasures.

Take a walk in the park, read a good book, or spend time with loved ones.

By doing so, we can reduce stress, improve our mood, and gain a new perspective on life.

So, the next time you're in a hurry, stop and look around.

You might be surprised at what you've been missing.

Remember, life is too short to waste on the unimportant.

Focus on the things that truly matter and enjoy every moment.

More than just statics. This is for a doctoral class that I'm taking. It's not a pleasure read by any means. However, the concepts presented in this book make statistics much more manageable! I'm able to understand them without getting bored. Math has never been my strong suit, so reading about it used to be pure torture. But this text has been extremely helpful. I even went ahead and purchased the companion book as well. It really helped me get through the class with an A!

The book offers clear explanations and practical examples that make the often-daunting subject of statistics accessible. The author's approach is engaging and easy to follow, which is a huge plus for someone like me who struggles with math. The companion book provides additional resources and practice problems, further enhancing my understanding of the concepts.

Overall, I highly recommend this book and its companion to anyone who is taking a statistics class or needs to have a better understanding of the subject. It has truly made a difference in my academic journey and I'm sure it will do the same for others.

The semester wasn't too bad overall. However, I do feel that he oversimplified various aspects of the functions we were performing. This, ironically, made the math more difficult rather than easier.

I discovered that using this book, along with the instructor's lectures and a fair amount of research on Wikipedia, contributed to a good semester.

I can't imagine how challenging it would have been to attempt the semester with just this book and without the other two resources.

It's important to have a comprehensive approach when studying math, and having multiple sources of information helps to fill in the gaps and provide a more in-depth understanding.

While the oversimplification by the instructor was a bit of a drawback, the combination of the book, lectures, and Wikipedia research ultimately made the semester a success.

The article was, for the most part, well-written.

However, my online edition, which I accessed through Pearson/VitalSource, was unfortunately filled with numerous editing errors.

For instance, in the answer key, there were answers that didn't even correspond to the questions from the Practice sections.

Moreover, there was a section that simply ended in the middle of a sentence, leaving the reader confused and frustrated.

Overall, it was quite a chaotic and unsatisfactory experience.

I would not recommend Pearson for textbooks at all.

I have consistently had a bad experience with their products, and this particular instance is just another example of their subpar quality control.

It is truly a pity that such a well-known publisher has such issues with their online content.

Hopefully, they will take steps to improve and rectify these problems in the future.

Until then, I will be looking for alternative textbook providers.

This book was a part of the required reading for a quantitative research class.

Although I haven't read every single page, I have completed it for the requirements of the class.

To begin with, I should note that I'm not naturally inclined towards math. I did well in math during primary and secondary school, but my advanced studies have been in the social sciences (qualitatively) and liberal arts.

For quite some time, math, especially statistics, has been outside the realm of my thinking.

All of this means that I was intimidated by this (and the other) textbook for the class.

However, Salkind does an outstanding job of explaining statistical analysis in simple terms.

My praise goes beyond the sometimes witty and engaging language he uses in this text.

Understanding what a correlation coefficient is is one thing; understanding how and why one would want to know what it is is quite another.

Salkind does a great job of providing insights into the latter.

The Microsoft Excel material in this text is also excellent. It is truly very helpful.

The only issue I have with this text is that there seem to be quite a few typos throughout.

For example, I was able to find Data Set 3 for Chapter 5, but only the column headings were listed, not the data.

As a result, I couldn't work through the practice problems that referenced that data set.

In full disclosure, we were required to use the third edition; perhaps some of these discrepancies have been corrected in the fourth version.

I didn't read the whole thing as it was for school. However, I can say that it definitely made learning statistical concepts palatable.

Statistics can often be a dry and difficult subject to study. But this particular resource or material managed to present the concepts in a way that was engaging and easy to understand.

It might have used interesting examples, real-life applications, or perhaps a more intuitive approach to explain the often complex statistical ideas.

By making the learning process more enjoyable, it increased my motivation to explore and understand the subject further.

Even though I didn't cover the entire content, the part that I did read was enough to give me a positive impression and make me believe that it could be a valuable tool for learning statistics.

I look forward to delving deeper into it and seeing how it can help me improve my understanding of this important field.

I truly hope that Neil has been granted a penthouse in Heaven.

A place where he can look down upon the world and smile.

I hope that all of his dreams and wishes have come true.

That he is surrounded by love and happiness, and that he never feels alone.

Neil was a remarkable person, and he will be deeply missed.

But I know that he is in a better place now, and that he is watching over us.

May his soul rest in peace, and may we all find comfort in the knowledge that he is no longer suffering.

Hallelujah!

I'm finally done with this freaking book! It has been a long and arduous journey going through its pages.

The content was often dense and difficult to understand, causing me a great deal of frustration along the way.

Now that I'm finished, I can't help but feel a sense of relief.

I hope and pray that I never have to refer back to it after this semester ends.

The thought of having to open it again makes me cringe.

I'm looking forward to moving on to new and more interesting books in the future.

Maybe those will be ones that I actually enjoy reading and that won't cause me so much stress.

For now, though, I'm just happy to be done with this one.

Hallelujah!

The parts I had to read for my directed reading were extremely confusing. It was not as simple as the writer seemed to imply. In fact, it was much more complex and difficult to understand. I only managed to read the 6 assigned chapters, but even within those, I struggled to make sense of some of the concepts and ideas presented.

The language used was often technical and unfamiliar, making it hard to follow the author's train of thought. I found myself having to re-read certain passages multiple times just to try and grasp the meaning.

Despite the challenges, I did my best to persevere and gain as much knowledge as possible from the reading. However, I still feel that there is a lot more that I need to learn and understand in order to fully appreciate the material.

Overall, the directed reading experience was a bit of a struggle, but I hope that it will ultimately help me to improve my understanding and knowledge in this particular area.

I still hate statistics.

Statistics has always been a subject that gives me a headache. The complex formulas, the piles of data, and the endless analysis make me feel completely lost.

Every time I open the statistics textbook, my eyes glaze over and my mind goes blank. I struggle to understand the concepts and apply them to real-life problems.

No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get the hang of it. It's like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces.

I often find myself frustrated and demotivated when it comes to statistics. I wonder if I will ever be able to master this subject.

But despite my hatred for statistics, I know that it is an important field. It helps us make sense of the world around us and make informed decisions.

So, even though I may not like it, I will continue to study statistics and try to improve my understanding. Maybe one day, I will finally overcome my hatred and discover the beauty and usefulness of this subject.
