Great job for introducing and brushing up on stats.

Most everything is presented in a way that is easy to follow, with solid examples, clear steps, and real world applications. This makes it highly accessible for readers who are looking to enhance their understanding of statistics.

The addition of humor is a wonderful touch. It not only makes the learning process more enjoyable but also comes across as genuine, adding a personal and engaging element to the text.

I particularly appreciated the rating system in difficulty. It provides a light hearted way to plan ahead for how much time one would need to muddle through the material. This allows readers to better manage their expectations and allocate their time effectively.

Overall, the article does an excellent job of presenting statistical concepts in an engaging and accessible manner, making it a valuable resource for anyone interested in the subject.

I used this book to review my statistics knowledge as a non-specialist in neither math nor statistics.

As someone with a social science background, the book served as an excellent review for me.

It presented the concepts in a clear and understandable way, without overwhelming me with complex mathematical derivations.

The author focused on the practical applications of statistics, which was very helpful for my needs.

One thing I really liked about the book was that it did not bother with assumptions until the end, when it was time to talk about non-parametric tests.

This allowed me to first understand the basic concepts and methods of statistics without getting bogged down in the details of assumptions.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to review their statistics knowledge or learn the basics of statistics.

I know I hate statistics. It's a subject that has always seemed so dry and uninteresting to me. The numbers and formulas just seem to blend together, making it difficult for me to understand and retain the information. Every time I open a statistics textbook or sit through a lecture, I feel my eyes glazing over and my mind wandering. I struggle to see the practical applications of statistics in my daily life, which makes it even harder for me to motivate myself to learn. I've tried different study methods, but nothing seems to work. I just can't seem to get a handle on this subject. It's frustrating and demoralizing, but I know that I have to keep trying if I want to succeed in my studies.

I give the author credit for attempting to infuse the book with some personality for graduate students who have absolutely no interest in math or statistical applications at all. It is a noble effort to make the subject matter more engaging and accessible to this particular audience.

However, there is a significant drawback. We were informed of and had to manually correct a little less than 20 errors in the book. This is quite concerning as it indicates a lack of proper proofreading and quality control. Additionally, there were errors in the online companion component of the book. When I am paying for a brand new book, I have the right to expect that all the bugs and glitches have been ironed out. The presence of these errors gives the impression of a very unprofessional approach to publishing. It is disappointing and may undermine the credibility of the book and the author.

I think the only people who truly believe that statistics is more than just okay are either math teachers or mathematicians.

Math teachers have an in-depth understanding of the subject and are able to appreciate the significance and applications of statistics. They see how it can be used to analyze data, make predictions, and solve real-world problems.

Mathematicians, on the other hand, are experts in the field of mathematics and have a deep knowledge of the theoretical aspects of statistics. They understand the principles and concepts behind statistical methods and are able to develop new techniques and models.

For the average person, statistics may seem枯燥 or difficult to understand. However, it is an important field that has many practical applications in areas such as business, economics, medicine, and social sciences. By understanding statistics, we can make more informed decisions and better understand the world around us.

In conclusion, while statistics may not be everyone's favorite subject, it is an important field that is studied and appreciated by math teachers and mathematicians. Their knowledge and expertise in this area help to推动 the development and application of statistical methods in various fields.

I still hate statistics!

Statistics has always been a subject that gives me a headache. The complex formulas, the endless data analysis, and the mind-boggling graphs and charts - it all seems so overwhelming and confusing to me.

I just can't seem to wrap my head around the concepts and principles of statistics. No matter how hard I try, I always end up making mistakes or getting the wrong answers.

Maybe it's because I'm not a math person, or maybe it's because I find the subject too枯燥 and无趣. But whatever the reason, I just can't bring myself to like statistics.

I often wonder why I have to study this subject. What's the point of learning all these statistical methods and techniques when I'm never going to use them in my daily life?

But despite my hatred for statistics, I know that it's an important subject and that I need to pass the course in order to graduate. So I guess I'll just have to suck it up and keep trying until I finally understand it.

This is my professor's attempt at humor, I am sure.

I've started reading it, and while I don't think I'll ever love stats, I do understand and can calculate mean, median, and mode without running to my Blackberry and having it do it for me.

It's quite an achievement, really. Understanding these basic statistical concepts gives me a certain level of confidence in dealing with data.

I used to rely so much on my phone to do the calculations for me, but now I can do it on my own.

It's not that I suddenly have a passion for stats, but I realize that having this knowledge can be useful in many aspects of life.

Maybe one day, I'll even find myself enjoying stats more than I do now.

But for now, I'm just happy that I can calculate mean, median, and mode without any external help.

Read it for a grad course as a required text,

I found that I had to supplement it with scholarly work to have a deeper understanding.

This is because the text alone may not provide all the necessary details and perspectives.

By referring to other scholarly works, I was able to gain a more comprehensive view of the subject matter.

It allowed me to explore different theories, research findings, and interpretations.

This additional reading also helped me to make connections and draw comparisons, enhancing my overall understanding.

However, for those who don't need a medium to deep dive, the original text may be sufficient.

They can still gain valuable insights and knowledge from it.

But for those of us in the grad course, the supplementary scholarly work was essential for a more in-depth study.

It enabled us to engage with the material at a higher level and contribute to the academic discourse.

Really makes stats easy to grasp!

This statement holds true for a variety of reasons. Stats can often seem intimidating and complex, with a plethora of numbers and formulas to understand. However, when presented in a clear and accessible way, it becomes much easier to wrap our heads around.

For example, using visual aids such as graphs and charts can make a huge difference. They allow us to quickly see patterns and trends in the data, without having to wade through pages of text. Additionally, breaking down complex concepts into smaller, more manageable parts can also make stats more approachable.

Another important factor is having a good teacher or guide. Someone who can explain the concepts clearly and answer any questions we may have can make all the difference in our understanding of stats. With the right resources and support, anyone can learn to master stats and use them to make informed decisions.
