I had a strong desire to gain a deeper understanding of diabetes from the perspective of a patient. This was specifically for a project that I was actively engaged in. I believed that by approaching it from this angle, I could uncover valuable insights and experiences that might otherwise go unnoticed. Understanding the daily challenges, the emotional toll, and the various aspects of managing the condition on a personal level would provide a more comprehensive view. It would also enable me to empathize better with those living with diabetes and potentially contribute to the development of more effective support systems and educational materials. Through this patient-perspective exploration, I hoped to make a meaningful contribution to the project and enhance the overall understanding of diabetes.
