This book is an outstanding resource for those who desire to gain a deeper understanding of Type I diabetes.

The author, not only a professional diabetes educator but also a person living with the illness, truly knows what he is talking about.

I had been confused by all the diabetes-related discussions in my caseload, but this book has significantly enhanced my comprehension.

Although the author doesn't explore why Type I diabetes is now more prevalent than a couple of generations ago, he does answer questions that left my own doctor stumped, with a response of "Gee, I dunno."

This book will remain in my home health library as new cases of Type I diabetes continue to emerge.

It is user-friendly, well-written, and has a lighthearted and engaging style.

The author doesn't talk down to the reader like some doctors do; instead, he simplifies the illness from an overwhelming challenge to a more manageable one.

This is the only resource I've discovered that focuses solely on Type I diabetes.

Other books on the shelves seem to predominantly discuss Type II diabetes, which is a completely different issue, and then dismiss Type I by stating, "If you have Type I, none of what I just said applies; go talk to a specialist."

If you want to learn about Type I diabetes, this is the book for you.
