It is quite interesting indeed. However, it is a bit on the dry side and leans more towards the scientific realm than I had initially anticipated.

The content seems to be presented in a rather straightforward and factual manner, lacking some of the engaging elements that would make it more accessible and captivating to a wider audience.

Perhaps a bit more storytelling or real-life examples could be incorporated to bring the scientific concepts to life and make the whole piece more relatable.

Nonetheless, it still holds value for those who are specifically interested in the scientific aspects being discussed.

I thought this was an extremely terrific survey of doggie minds.

To be more specific, it delved into the realm of doggie senses. After all, a dog's "intelligence" is closely intertwined with how it synthesizes all the incredible levels of sensory information.

The last third of the survey was more focused on how to apply an understanding of dog brains into training techniques. I have to admit that this part didn't really capture my interest as much. However, the first two-thirds were truly fascinating.

And here's a bonus: Coren often employs cat facts to highlight certain aspects of dog stuff. This added an interesting and unique perspective to the entire discussion.

Overall, despite my slight disinterest in the training techniques section, the survey as a whole provided valuable insights into the minds and senses of our furry canine friends.

This book offers a fascinating exploration of the world from a dog's perspective.

Coren delves into each of a dog's senses and utilizes research to vividly explain to the reader the distinct ways in which dogs perceive the world.

The text is presented in an accessible manner, making it an easy and enjoyable read.

However, it should be noted that some of the author's interpretations of the research have come under scrutiny.

Despite this, the book provides valuable insights into the inner world of our canine companions and helps us to better understand their unique experiences.

Overall, it is a worthwhile read for anyone interested in learning more about dogs and their perception of the world around them.

Really interesting, but not quite what I expected.

Coren provides a wealth of detailed information regarding how dogs' senses function for them, as well as an exploration of how dogs learn and so on. There is also a bit of philosophical meandering into questions such as, "Do dogs have what can accurately be termed personality?" and, "Can dogs actually appreciate - or even create - art in its various forms?"

I had anticipated more about how dogs might perceive specific situations differently from humans. To Coren's credit, that aspect is present, but it just didn't fully meet my expectations. Nevertheless, the content that I hadn't anticipated being there managed to hold my attention regardless, and overall, this was a rather good read.

You get a little bit of both with this book.

It offers a good look at the debate of what constitutes being conscious and how a dog actually thinks.

This exploration will truly open up your mind to things that even those of us who are well aware that our dogs have thoughts and feelings, never would have known about what Fido is really thinking.

For example, did you know that dogs can make art? Yes, they can and do!

This book delves into such fascinating aspects, shedding light on the inner world of our furry friends.

It challenges our preconceived notions and broadens our understanding of the complex nature of canine consciousness.

Whether you're a dog lover or simply interested in the mysteries of the animal mind, this book is sure to provide valuable insights and keep you engaged from start to finish.

Dogs are truly fascinating creatures, and learning about their world is both very interesting and informative.

They have a unique set of behaviors, instincts, and communication methods that are essential to understanding them.

For example, their sense of smell is incredibly敏锐, allowing them to detect scents that humans could never even imagine.

They also use body language to communicate with each other and with us, such as wagging their tails, barking, and growling.

Understanding these signals can help us better interact with our furry friends and build stronger relationships with them.

Additionally, dogs have a rich history and have been domesticated for thousands of years, evolving to become the loyal companions we know and love today.

By learning more about their world, we can gain a deeper appreciation for these amazing animals and the important role they play in our lives.

This is an extremely interesting book that delves deeply into the fascinating world of the dog's brain.

It meticulously explains which regions of the dog's brain are more developed and which ones are less developed in comparison to the human brain. By doing so, it helps us gain a profound understanding that the world does not present itself in the same way to dogs as it does to people.

From the aspect of color perception, where dogs have a different view of the color spectrum than humans, to their remarkable hearing frequencies that allow them to detect sounds beyond our range, and most importantly, their highly acute sense of smell which is far superior to ours.

This book truly offers you a wonderful opportunity to understand How Dogs Think, enabling you to see the world from a dog's perspective and gain a better appreciation for these loyal and intelligent companions.

I absolutely loved this.

As a dog owner myself, it was truly fascinating to observe how a dog's senses are distinct and how this impacts her perception of the world.

This piece was written by a psychologist who not only owns a dog but also loves them deeply, and it is extremely readable.

I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who is about to get a new puppy or already owns a dog.

The insights provided are valuable and can help us better understand our furry friends.

When and if I ever get a new puppy in the future, I definitely plan on re-reading this again.

It will serve as a useful guide to ensure that I can provide the best care and training for my new companion.

Overall, this is a must-read for all dog lovers.

This topic is really very interesting. It contains a lot of great factoids about how dogs actually think and communicate with us.

We are now moving on to Mr Coren's "How to Speak Dog". I find this book extremely helpful as I need all the assistance I can get in the field of dog behaviorism.

Dogs have their own unique ways of expressing themselves, and understanding these behaviors is crucial for building a strong bond with them.

By learning how to speak their language, we can better communicate our expectations and needs, and in turn, they will feel more understood and loved.

I'm excited to explore this book further and gain more insights into the fascinating world of dog behavior.

A very interesting book on dog psychology has recently come to my attention. It delves deep into the minds and behaviors of our furry friends, offering valuable insights and explanations.

Certainly, this book makes a lot of sense as it presents various theories and research findings in a clear and understandable manner. It helps me understand my dog a lot better by providing me with a framework to interpret his actions and emotions.

For example, I now know that certain behaviors my dog exhibits, such as excessive barking or chewing, may be due to specific psychological needs or triggers. Armed with this knowledge, I can take more appropriate measures to address these issues and improve our relationship.

Overall, I highly recommend this book to any dog owner who wants to gain a deeper understanding of their pet's psychology and build a stronger bond with them.

The content seemed

too technical and didn't get to the point in a timely manner.

As a result, I simply couldn't maintain my focus to read it straight through.

Instead, I directly jumped to all the sections that I wanted to know more about.

This approach allowed me to quickly access the specific information that was of interest to me.

However, it also meant that I might have missed some important details or connections that were presented in the earlier parts of the text.

In the future, I will try to be more patient and make an effort to read through technical articles more thoroughly, even if they seem difficult at first.

This will help me to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and make more informed decisions.

Now I can understand better my dogs.

I have spent a lot of time observing and interacting with them. Their body language, barks, and whines all convey different messages. For example, when my dog wags its tail vigorously, it usually means it is happy or excited. On the other hand, if it tucks its tail between its legs, it may be feeling scared or submissive. I have also learned to pay attention to their eyes. A dog's eyes can tell a lot about its mood and intentions. If its eyes are wide open and staring, it may be feeling threatened or aggressive. By understanding these signals, I can better communicate with my dogs and meet their needs. I can also prevent potential problems and ensure that our relationship remains strong and healthy. Overall, understanding my dogs has been a rewarding experience that has deepened our bond and made me a better pet owner.
