Insightful

Lots of scientific evidence exists to support various arguments. In the case of understanding our pets, especially dogs, this evidence provides a wealth of knowledge. Through studying and learning about these scientific findings, I have gained a profound understanding of my own dog. I now know that dogs have complex emotions and behaviors that are influenced by a variety of factors such as genetics, environment, and training. This newfound knowledge has made me realize that I can be a better caregiver for my dog. I can now respond more effectively to its needs, provide a more suitable environment, and use training methods that are based on scientific principles. I am confident that by applying this knowledge, I will be able to build a stronger and more fulfilling relationship with my dog, and ensure that it lives a happy and healthy life.

The book has its interesting aspects, but there are also parts that are less engaging.

Since Coren is a professor of psychology, those who have already delved into the field of psychology might be able to breeze through a significant portion of the content.

However, for me, the details regarding dog senses, particularly their remarkable hearing and acute sense of smell, were extremely valuable.

I listened to the audiobook, which allowed me to absorb the information while on the go.

It was fascinating to learn about how dogs perceive the world around them through their unique sensory abilities.

Although some parts of the book may not have held my attention as strongly, the sections on dog senses more than made up for it.

Overall, it was an informative read (or listen), especially for those interested in understanding the inner workings of our furry friends.

I would recommend it to others who have a passion for dogs and want to gain a deeper understanding of their senses and behaviors.

This is an extremely fantastic book for dog lovers.

However, it is also well worth a read even if you are simply curious about how other minds perceive the world.

Although perhaps it was unintentional, Coren's book not only comprehensively explained dog behavior but also, quite interestingly, helped me understand my own thoughts through the process of comparison.

I truly appreciated the significant amount of time he dedicated to justifying his conclusions through solid evidence and in-depth research.

This made the book not only engaging but also highly reliable and informative.

It opened up a whole new perspective for me, not only about dogs but also about my own inner world.

Overall, it is a remarkable book that I would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in either dogs or the fascinating topic of how different minds work.

The detailed research and analysis offer a unique perspective on the behavior, cognition, and evolution of dogs.

It delves into the inner workings of their minds and provides insights that can help us better understand our furry friends.

Whether you are a scientist, a dog enthusiast, or simply curious about the world of dogs, this book is sure to captivate you with its scientific approach and engaging content.

It is a great addition to any dog lover's library and a must-read for those who want to explore the scientific side of dog behavior.

A very interesting book indeed! The author vividly describes the dog's five senses and elaborates on how they differ significantly from human sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. We often wonder why our dog sometimes struggles to find the bright orange ball that we toss for him. As it turns out, to a dog's eyes, bright orange is the worst color possible for a ball when thrown on a grassy field. In the dog's perception, both the grass and the ball appear yellow. Who would have thought of that? Another fascinating piece of information is that a dog who retrieves a ball is the best candidate for training. Also, dogs with gentle mothers are more easily trained. Besides these facts and interesting tidbits, there are numerous anecdotes about the author's dogs and other dogs he has encountered or heard about. Anyone who loves dogs or is simply curious about them will surely learn a great deal by reading this book. Although it didn't tell me precisely how to keep Dude from pulling on the leash, I'm determined to work on it and find a solution.
