Me agrada que en este libro se consideren tanto los criterios cualitativos y cuantitativos a la hora de analizar empresas. Esto, creo yo, es lo más valioso del libro. Warren Buffett, sin duda, ha sido y es el inversionista más exitoso de la historia por estas dos perspectivas que van de la mano. Hay que conocer a las empresas tanto en sus negocios, como en sus números; tanto en su historia, como en su presente y en su futuro (porque, según lo dicho aquí, es posible hacer previsiones a diez o más años).
Aquí se mencionan armas poderosas, como el interés compuesto, el cual si se utiliza a favor es una maravilla. También hay que entender las tendencias del mercado de valores, analizar fenómenos económicos como la inflación, saber identificar a las empresas excelentes, a las que tienen casi un monopolio y hay que ser, sobre todo, paciente, muy paciente para invertir en el momento preciso. Todos los consejos vertidos son relevantes, ayudan a entender que es mejor enfriar los ánimos en los tiempos alcistas y a emocionarse en las caídas de la bolsa, pero todo esto, sabiendo que hay empresas que merecen nuestras atenciones y nuestras inversiones.
Quizá lo que no me gustó, es que los ejemplos citados están desactualizados, pues leí la edición del 2000. Muchas empresas que son mencionadas ahora están desacreditadas. Aun así, creo que los consejos son atemporales y se pueden aplicar hoy día.

It is great book with simple but difficult steps to follow to decide which company to invest in. Patient is a key element for value investment and a proper research can help you out to entertain the waiting. The book might be a bit old but the principles are up to date for investment. Can try with the list of companies that Buffett was/is interested in to practice how to value a company while you wait.

A good primer on Buffett's investing techniques and the types of companies he looks for. I love the simple visual analysis of looking at the EPS trend; it makes it so simple to identify a 'Buffett' business versus a crumby one. Even though this book is 20+ years old, it's not dated. However, I would say it can be tedious as it is directed at beginners. The list of companies in the back (chapter 46) is very useful.

Very logical and a step by step guide to value investing

Decent book for an insider to Warren Buffett's investment techniques. I made some improvement on my option stock, but I'm sure it was my strategic move of looking at the annually statement and not this book. This book was more of a biographical, philosophical and motivational genre for me.

This book explains one of the reasons why Warren Buffet became the most successful investor.

Simple calculations are presented and rules to invest.

Important dos and don'ts are also warned.

Every businessman should read this book. Buffettology is worth your time to learn.

There's nothing groundbreaking here. It works more as a primer for economics at large and the stock market in particular. The later half of the book is full of mathematical equations, designed to help wannabe Buffetts in making sound stock-buying calls. For the casual reader though, its the first half which is interesting as it provides an insight into the mind of the world's most successful investor.

Great book for learning how to invest. It was a bore to read in the second half though.

If you are interested in investing in stocks, read this book. It teaches you some very important concepts that you will want to know before you put one single dollar down on any stock.
