Dark and adult, Stéphane Jorisch's illustrations offer a unique reinterpretation of Lewis Carroll's nonsense poem.

They transform it into a form of nonsense with a distinct political purpose.

The blustering call to war that is depicted makes the warrior into a monster as well.

The illustrations are stark and thought-provoking, challenging the viewer to consider the true nature of war and its consequences.

However, it is important to note that these illustrations are not suitable for kids.

They deal with adult themes and ideas that may be too disturbing or complex for a young audience.

Instead, they are intended for a more mature viewer who is able to engage with the deeper meanings and messages that Jorisch is trying to convey.

Overall, Jorisch's illustrations offer a powerful and unique perspective on Carroll's poem, one that forces us to confront the harsh realities of war and its impact on our lives.

This is an extremely long poem book that delves into the most random of things. It poses a challenge for me to offer a proper review. However, I adored what I managed to read due to its remarkable creativity.

After conducting further research online, I came to the realization that the Jabberwock was a creature within Through the Looking Glass, which is the sequel to Alice in Wonderland.

The sole reason I suggest it is suitable for 4th graders is because of the nonsensical words that might surface. These could prove to be rather difficult for younger readers to comprehend.

Overall, this poem book is a unique and captivating piece of literature that offers a world of imagination and creativity for 4th graders to explore.
