Jabberwocky is, without a doubt, one of the truly remarkable nonsense poems in the English language. It has a unique charm and appeal that has endured over the years. Stephane Jorisch's visual treatment of this poem is an extremely original and creative endeavor. While it may be debatable whether all of the artist's interpretations of the writer's source material are entirely faithful to Lewis Carroll's original intent (which is perhaps open to interpretation in itself), there is no denying that this is an engaging and thought-provoking way to re-explore a certified literary classic. The combination of the vivid and imaginative language of the poem with Jorisch's artistic vision creates a new and exciting experience for the reader/viewer. It allows us to see the poem from a different perspective and discover new layers of meaning and beauty within it. This visual interpretation of Jabberwocky is a testament to the power of art and literature to inspire and delight.
