My sophomore year of high school was truly a memorable one. My dance company performed "Alice in Wonderland", and guess what? I had the honor of being Alice. There was a hip hop group that performed a dance called the Jabberwocky. Little did I know at that time that it was actually a poem! As a little girl, I was absolutely in love with the book and movie "Alice in Wonderland". So, when I discovered this poem, I thought it would be super appropriate and incredibly fun, considering I had never read it before.

The Jabberwocky is about the villainous creature in the sequel novel of the Alice series, "Alice Through the Looking Glass". The context of the poem is quite interesting. Alice finds it, and on the page, it looks like utter nonsense. She realizes it is written backward, and even when she holds it up to a mirror, it still seems like a bunch of nonsense words. This poem is said to be one of the greatest nonsense poems of all time.

There are two great ways to integrate this poem. One way is within a unit on fiction, as "Alice in Wonderland" is extremely fictional. The other way is within a poetry unit, to show students that poems don't always have to be deep and philosophical. They can also be fun and a little bit silly. This poem was classified under "WOW" for me because of my love for the story of Alice and Wonderland and the whimsy that is so hard to find nowadays. It truly added a special touch to our dance performance.

Of course, this book is indeed intended to be read.

However, what makes it truly special are these illustrations that bring it to life for a newer generation, even younger than my own children.

I have the wonderful opportunity to read to children once a month at my neighborhood library.

One of my daughters presented this particular version to me to read to the kids.

And let me tell you, it was an absolute glorious hit!

The children were completely captivated by the story and the beautiful illustrations.

I wholeheartedly urge all parents and grandparents out there to get this book.

It's a treasure that will surely delight and engage your little ones.

So don't hesitate, go ahead and get it for your family!

Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Sometimes, I find myself in a state of confusion when it comes to the Jabberwocky.

I often mix it up with the Gruffalo from the British children's book. The Jabberwocky's strange and mysterious nature seems to blend with the Gruffalo's unique characteristics in my mind.

Additionally, there are times when I confuse the Jabberwocky with those random creatures that worship Max in "Where the Wild Things Are". Their wild and untamed appearances somehow remind me of the Jabberwocky.

But perhaps the most confusing aspect is when I confuse the Jabberwocky with myself. At times, I feel like I am babbling, speaking nonsensical words, just like the Jabberwocky. It makes me wonder if there is a part of that strange creature within all of us.

The Jabberwocky continues to be a source of confusion and mystery for me, blurring the lines between different fictional beings and even myself.

My partner has an abundance of love for the Jabberwocky.

So, when I came across the fact that one of our most cherished poetry series had attempted to bring this particular poem to life, I simply had to seize it as a wonderful surprise!

This specific series is known for beautifully illustrating popular poems. The imagery it creates for the Jabberwocky is truly strange and has a touch of surrealism.

It weaves a rather confusing visual narrative that is extremely fitting for the words it accompanies.

The illustrations manage to capture the essence and the oddity of the Jabberwocky, making it a truly unique and captivating experience for anyone who loves this poem.

It's like opening a door to a奇幻 world that is both familiar and yet full of surprises, just like the Jabberwocky itself.

This is a truly strange poem that has been presented in book form and is bizarrely illustrated.

The ideas that can be gleaned from this unique creation are perhaps not entirely suitable for the youngest of readers.

However, it holds a certain charm and is quite interesting to explore.

The use of nonsense words in the poem adds an element of mystery and intrigue.

It makes one wonder what kind of hidden meanings or emotions might be lurking beneath the surface.

Although the words may not have a traditional or obvious significance, they can still evoke a sense of imagination and creativity in the reader.

Overall, this strange poem in book form with its bizarre illustrations offers a fascinating and somewhat unconventional reading experience.

It challenges our preconceived notions of what a poem should be and encourages us to look beyond the literal and embrace the unexpected.

Whether or not one fully understands the poem, it is sure to leave an impression and spark further thought and discussion.

To write something like this and have it transcend, one must be famous. I think that memorizing it to exercise the memory or fight against Alzheimer's is the best merit that I can attribute to it.

There are different translations due to the difficulty of adapting invented words.

Entertaining... don't look any further. This piece of text presents an interesting perspective on the nature of writing and its potential impact. It suggests that achieving fame is a prerequisite for creating something that will have a lasting influence. Additionally, it highlights the challenge of translating invented words, which can lead to multiple interpretations. The final sentence, "Entertaining... don't look any further," implies that the text itself is engaging and worth exploring. Overall, this expanded version provides a more detailed analysis of the original text, while maintaining its essence and tone.

After listening to this one,

I seriously need to get on listening to my Alice in Wonderland audiobook soon.

The Jaberwocky was one of my favorite villains, and I'm glad that I got to listen to this.

I found one where Benedict Cumberbatch narrated it, which makes it even more exciting.

Benedict Cumberbatch has a wonderful voice that can bring the story to life.

I'm sure that listening to him narrate Alice in Wonderland will be a great experience.

I can't wait to immerse myself in the magical world of Wonderland and encounter all the strange and wonderful characters again.

The Jaberwocky, with its mysterious and menacing presence, is sure to add an extra layer of excitement to the story.

I'm looking forward to listening to this audiobook and rediscovering the charm of Alice in Wonderland.

I'm such a hard-core fantasy girl.

My daddy used to read us this poem in great, growly, booming voices. It was truly an experience.

I've always associated it with knights and monsters, kind of like the idea in Beowulf.

As a matter of fact, when I read Beowulf in high school, this poem was the first thing that came to my mind.

I absolutely love this re-imagining as a sports contest.

I don't really understand sports. I never have.

But this gives me a great look into someone else's imagination, and I really loved it. It's like opening a door to a whole new world of creativity and fantasy.

It makes me think about how different people can have such unique and wonderful ideas.

And it shows that even things that seem completely unrelated, like a poem and a sports contest, can be brought together in a way that is both interesting and engaging.

I'm so glad I came across this re-imagining and got to experience this new perspective.

It's definitely something that will stay with me for a long time.

One of the really cool aspects about poems is the concept that each person hears or perceives something distinct within them.

In this particular version of the Jabberwocky, the illustrator imagines the conflict as a one-on-one basketball game between two extremely mismatched opponents.

The illustrations and colors employed in this book are truly phenomenal. They have the potential to entice even the most reluctant poets or poetry readers to give an "old" poem redux a try.

This book can be useful for students in grades 3 and above. It might even be suitable for high school students???

It offers a fresh and engaging perspective on a classic poem, making it accessible and interesting to a wide range of readers.
