An interesting collection of 11 short stories from various parts of the world awaits you. My absolute favorite story within the book is 'The Coup', which is set in Nigeria. This story truly captured my imagination with its vivid descriptions and engaging plot.
Other stories that I greatly enjoyed were 'The Chinese Statue', which offered a unique perspective on Chinese culture and history. 'Old Love' was a touching tale of romance and the passage of time. 'Broken Routine' was a thought-provoking story about the importance of change and adaptation. 'Henry's Hiccup' was a lighthearted and humorous story that made me smile. 'A Matter of Principle' was a powerful story about standing up for what you believe in. And 'The Hungarian Professor' was a fascinating story about a brilliant mind and his struggles.
The rest of the stories in the collection were also fine, each offering something different and unique. Overall, this is a great collection of short stories that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys reading.
This book really fascinated me. I read it years ago, but even today, I still remember its stories vividly. It was super entertaining from start to finish. The author has a wonderful way of creating engaging characters and plots that keep you hooked until the very end. Each story is unique and full of surprises, making it a joy to read. Whether you're a fan of fiction or just looking for a good read, this book is definitely worth checking out. I highly recommend it!
It was an absolutely wonderful collection of stories penned by Jeffrey Archer. Each story within the collection had its own unique charm and allure. However, my personal favourite among them was THE LUNCHEON. This particular story seemed to have been somewhat influenced by Somerset Maugham, which added an extra layer of depth and sophistication to it. The way Archer weaved the tale, with its engaging plot and well-developed characters, truly captivated my imagination. It took me on a journey filled with anticipation, surprise, and ultimately, a sense of satisfaction. THE LUNCHEON is a prime example of Archer's remarkable storytelling abilities, and it left a lasting impression on me.
