I'm a die-hard fan of the 90's Bulls, and without a doubt, a huge admirer of Michael Jordan. So, it comes as no surprise that I own Michael Jordan's biography.

However, Dennis Rodman's biography? Ugh! It has the most eye-catching cover I've ever seen! Just a bike, five balls, and a naked Rodman. LOL...

I'm not a fan of his, to be honest. But I have to say that this book seems to be a means for him to air all his grievances against other NBA players and the so-called 'injustice' in the NBA industry. He felt that his contribution and skills were severely underrated, while other players whom he thought were far inferior to him were getting paid more. I counted very few people he respected in this book. A few of them include Chuck Daly, Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Phil Jackson.

This book concludes with the beginning of his time with the Chicago Bulls, so it doesn't provide a lot of details about the Bulls team. But it's fair to say that his new team seemed to appreciate him more than the San Antonio Spurs did.

Overall, while Rodman's biography may be controversial, it does offer some insights into his unique perspective on the NBA.

I probably rated this book too highly.

The book had some cool aspects. The formatting was nice, which made it easy to read. Also, his writing style was engaging.

However, there was a significant drawback. Sadly, there were approximately 100 pages where he seemed to be just complaining and praising himself without really moving the story forward.

He could have incorporated his thoughts and opinions about certain subjects while still advancing the plot.

Despite this, he is indeed funny and truthful in his writing.

Overall, while the book had its strengths, the excessive self-focus in those 100 pages detracted from the overall reading experience.

I still think there is some value in the book, but perhaps my initial rating was a bit too generous.

I’m not typically the kind of person who gravitates towards reading sports autobiographies. However, this particular one has stuck with me since the 90s. Recently, I found myself completely engrossed, along with most of Chicago, in watching The Last Dance, and I simply didn't want it to end.

Rodman’s book, despite being written “with Tim Keown”, truly seems to capture his genuine voice. The typeface alterations serve to emphasize key ideas, and the sentences are peppered with acknowledgments to the reader as “bro”. There's a great deal of circling and repetition, as if he's delivering an extended lecture. It contains several interesting snippets about his life and philosophies, and it appears that he was a “woke” player long before it became fashionable. I'm not certain how much he would distinguish himself if he were just emerging in the league today. Nevertheless, it's a good read, and Rodman comes across as more misunderstood than menacing.

Overall, this book offers a unique perspective into the mind of Dennis Rodman, and it's well worth the time for anyone interested in sports or the man himself.

Dennis Rodman's 300-page rant is truly a captivating read. Published in 1996, the book delves into his life before the NBA, providing fascinating insights into his early years. It then chronicles his time with the Pistons and Spurs, offering a detailed account of his experiences during those eras. However, it's not until the very last few pages that the book touches on his days with the Bulls.

Despite this omission, the book is still highly entertaining. Rodman's unique personality shines through on every page, with some parts being downright hilarious. He doesn't hold back, and his honesty and lack of filter make for a refreshing read. Whether you're a die-hard basketball fan or just someone who enjoys a good memoir, this book is definitely worth checking out.

Overall, Dennis Rodman's rant is a must-read for anyone interested in the life and times of one of the most colorful characters in sports history. It offers a rare glimpse into the mind of a man who truly doesn't give an eff, and it's a testament to his individuality and charisma.

It was an okay read.

Perhaps it would be more beneficial for an individual who has in-depth knowledge of basketball and its players.

I was only familiar with a very small number of the players he mentioned playing with or against.

He is extremely confident in himself and has a good enough understanding of the game to claim that he is the best.

I took pleasure in reading more about his personal life.

He is unfiltered and expresses his thoughts freely.

He even addresses his readers as "Bro".. lol..

Overall, while the basketball-related content might have been more engaging for a die-hard fan, the insights into his personal side added an interesting dimension to the read.

It gives the reader a sense of who he is as a person beyond the basketball court.

Despite not being overly familiar with all the players he discussed, I still managed to gain some enjoyment from the book.

It made me curious to learn more about the game and the players he interacted with.

Maybe in the future, I'll have a better appreciation for the basketball aspects as well.

I'm not a die-hard fan of celebrity books. However, after watching an old clip of Rodman on Oprah promoting the book, I was intrigued and wanted to read it. Rodman has always been in the spotlight, not only for his remarkable skills on the basketball court but also for his flamboyant and expressive personality off the court.

I was eager to understand the journey that led him to become the person he is. Unfortunately, as I read, I felt that he held back a great deal. There was a significant amount of repetition throughout the book, and I didn't feel that we delved deep enough into his life and experiences.

One aspect that did capture my attention was the mention of his suicide attempt. Mental health, particularly among athletes, is often overlooked and not taken as seriously as it should be. This part of the story brought me in and made me realize the importance of addressing these issues.

Despite my initial disappointment, I'm determined to give this book another chance when I have the opportunity. Maybe on a second reading, I'll be able to uncover more of the real Dennis Rodman and gain a deeper understanding of his life and struggles.

Frivolous is a word that describes a person or behavior that is lacking in seriousness or depth.

A frivolous person may be more concerned with having fun and enjoying the moment than with taking on important responsibilities or making meaningful contributions.

Frivolous behavior can also include things like being overly concerned with appearance, engaging in idle gossip, or spending excessive amounts of time on unproductive activities.

While there is nothing wrong with having fun and enjoying life, it is important to also be mindful of our actions and their consequences.

We should strive to find a balance between work and play, and to approach life with a sense of purpose and responsibility.

By doing so, we can avoid being seen as frivolous and instead be respected for our intelligence, integrity, and hard work.

I can't believe I read this.

Looking back on it now, it seems almost unbelievable.

The words on the page seemed to jump out at me, telling a story that I never expected to hear.

I was completely engrossed from the very first sentence, and before I knew it, I had finished the entire article.

It was a truly eye-opening experience, and it made me think about things in a whole new way.

I'm not sure if I would have ever come across this information on my own, but I'm glad that I did.

It has given me a lot to think about, and I'm sure that it will have an impact on my future decisions and actions.

Overall, I'm very grateful to have read this article, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for something thought-provoking and inspiring.

2 Stars for Bad as I Wanna be (audiobook)

by Dennis Rodman and Tim Keown read by Tim Keown.

This audiobook was truly a letdown. There surely has to be a more comprehensive and engaging biography of Dennis Rodman out there. When I began listening to this audiobook, I was completely unaware of just how brief it was. It's an abridged version, which really begs the question: what's the purpose of publishing a book about one of the most fascinating NBA players and making it only an hour long?

The story lacks a proper ending; it simply stops suddenly, leaving the listener feeling unsatisfied. Moreover, Dennis himself doesn't narrate the audiobook. Instead, it's the ghostwriter, Tim Keown, who reads it. This takes away from the authenticity and personal touch that one would expect from a book written by Rodman. Overall, I was disappointed with this audiobook and would not recommend it to others.

It's a quick read, yet it manages to pack in a lot of valuable insights. The author's writing style is engaging, making it a pleasure to turn the pages.

It's really nice to see how hard this guy worked to reach the NBA. His journey is an inspiration, showing that with determination and perseverance, anything is possible.

This book not only provides an inside look at the world of basketball but also offers lessons that can be applied to life in general.

He truly lived life the way he wanted to.

It may not have always been the best way in the eyes of others, but he remained unwavering in his authenticity.

I would have to admit that there were times when I didn't fully understand the reasons behind his actions.

However, the most remarkable aspect was that he had the courage to do what he believed in, regardless of the potential consequences or lack of comprehension from those around him.

His unwavering determination and self-assurance were truly inspiring.

Even when faced with challenges and uncertainties, he continued to forge his own path, following his heart and instincts.

In a world where many people conform to the expectations of others, his ability to stay true to himself was a rare and precious quality.

It served as a reminder that we should all strive to live life on our own terms and not be afraid to take risks and make choices that are true to who we are.

I read this book in high school when I was a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls. It was truly fascinating and yet heartbreaking to witness the chaos and dysfunction that his life had descended into, starting from a very young age. The story really tugged at my heartstrings and made me feel a deep sense of sadness for him. However, I must admit that there was quite a bit of language in the book that I didn't particularly like. Nevertheless, despite this minor drawback, it was still an interesting read overall. It provided a unique perspective into the life of this individual and made me think about the various factors that can shape a person's destiny.
