Simply knowing the secret of Max -- the terrified 11-year-old girl with an amazing gift -- could mean death.

The story line is really nice.

There are some interesting characters in it, and they come together quite well.

I didn't consider it to be the best book that I have ever read. However, it is also not the worst one.

Overall, it is a good read. So, why not give it a try?

You might find something that catches your interest and enjoy the experience of reading this book.

It could be a great way to pass the time and explore a new fictional world.

Even though it may not be a masterpiece, it still has its own charm and value.

So, don't hesitate to pick it up and see for yourself.

Frannie O'Neill, a young widowed veterinarian, practices her profession in a secluded town in the rocky mountains of the USA. One day, she sees a girl with wings.

From this moment on, a thrilling adventure begins. It's a real thriller with new and old assassinations all connected to this genetically modified girl named Max, who was raised in an unidentified "school". Patterson's great ability to keep me hooked on the pages persists in this novel. The protagonists, in an attempt to understand what's happening and save Max from her pursuers, become compressed, leaving the stage to the greatest dream of man: to fly. In fact, those who created Max wanted to increase the survival hope of human beings, but that's another story.

Due to the success of Max @ company, James Patterson had to create a new series: Maximum Ride. This series further explores the adventures and mysteries surrounding Max and her unique abilities, captivating readers with its exciting plot and well-developed characters.

This was not a typical James Patterson detective mystery.

However, it was highly entertaining! The concept was truly unusual, revolving around the genetic modification of embryos with the aim of creating a super race.

The story was set in the beautiful Colorado Rockies. It centered on a young veterinarian who was determined to discover the reasons behind her husband's untimely death.

As more murders took place, she was joined in her search by FBI agent Kit Harrison. Together, they uncovered a diabolical plot.

But the question remained: could they stop those responsible for this heinous plan? The story line might have been a bit far-fetched, but it was well written.

It managed to keep my interest throughout, making it a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Despite its departure from the typical Patterson formula, this book had its own charm and excitement.

I would definitely recommend it to fans of mystery and thriller novels who are looking for something a little different.

Wonderful! Suspenseful! This is yet another book that had me completely engrossed until 10:00 pm. (Well, not really, but I'm just emphasizing how captivating it was.) "When the Wind Blows" served as the foundation for James Patterson's highly successful series, Maximum Ride, which incidentally is one of my all-time favorite series. So, when I first heard about this book, I was truly excited.

It shares some similarities with Maximum Ride, yet it also has its own unique charm. Frannie O'Neil is in a state of deep depression after the untimely death of her husband, David. She has no idea who the culprit is. However, when Kit Harrison, an FBI agent, walks into her vet hospital with an intriguing case, everything starts to go horribly awry.

First of all, two people have been brutally murdered in the past two weeks. Both of them were doctors who specialized in biology and were suspected to be involved with a mysterious group of rebel scientists who conducted experiments on humans. Then, Frannie meets Max, an extraordinary girl with extraordinary powers. She has wings and the ability to fly. Max recently managed to escape from the School, the laboratory where she lived, and she is aware of a terrifying plan that the scientists intend to carry out. It now falls upon Frannie, Kit, and Max to stop them before it's too late.

The story unfolds with heart-pounding action, unexpected twists, and characters that you can't help but root for. I found myself on the edge of my seat, eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next. If you're a fan of thrilling adventures and stories that keep you guessing, then "When the Wind Blows" is definitely a must-read.

A few years ago, I delved into the first three of the Maximum Ride kids books. However, I soon abandoned them in disgust. The writing was shockingly poor, and both the plots and characters were incredibly stupid. This particular work seems less like a prequel and more like a previous incarnation of the same concept: Genetically modified children with wings manage to escape from a secret school and are then pursued by the mad scientists who brought them into being. It's evident that JP, realizing the adult version didn't sell well enough, decided to rework it for the so-called YA market. He had someone else actually pen the story, as he often does with most of his books these days, hoping to watch the dollars roll in.

In this installment, the heroine is a female vet whose doctor husband was brutally murdered. A hunky FBI agent arrives to investigate the mysterious deaths of various researchers. They then encounter Max, an 11-year-old bird girl, and embark on a cheesy romance, along with numerous chase sequences through the woods. The writing quality is abysmal, the plot makes no sense - with many elements being introduced but not properly explained, and the ending is completely sappy. It's a shame because the original idea had potential.

Another aspect that irritated me was the blatant laziness. There are two characters named Thomas and two named Michael, for no apparent reason. It seems as if the author simply couldn't be bothered to come up with any other names.

A randomly selected book that unexpectedly turns out to be highly enjoyable. My father purchased this book without having the slightest idea of what it is about. He bought it simply because it is written in English. I find the concept of accelerated human evolution really fascinating. The novel, along with its characters, is typically American, and I really enjoy the simple, everyday language that is used. It gives the story a sense of authenticity and makes it easy to relate to. However, the only aspect that needs some improvement in the novel is the relationship between Frannie and Kim. It seems rather superficially expectable, lacking in depth and complexity. But aside from that, the book is overall very exciting and engaging, keeping me hooked from start to finish.

Oh my gosh, what a pleasant surprise!

I have this bad habit of picking up books just because of the cover or the author's name. In this particular case, it was a combination of my love for James Patterson and the need for something with a moon on the cover. So, when I saw this book, I chose it for a challenge.

What I didn't know at that time was that it would take me right back to the world of Maximum Ride and all those winged children. :) I absolutely adored the entire series, and now I've been able to revisit the angels once again.

In this book, a whole lot of genetic experiments took place, resulting in things like flying children. However, there were certain parts of the book that were really hard to read emotionally. For instance, when Frannie discovered . That was truly heart-wrenching.

Nevertheless, I still loved reading about Max, Matthew, Icarus, and the whole gang again. It was like reuniting with old friends and getting to experience their adventures all over again.
