It was an extremely challenging task for me to determine a rating for this novel.

If I had been perusing it during a vacation at the beach, it very well might have merited a 4-star rating. However, I happened to read it in conjunction with James Patterson's Master Class for novel writing, which perhaps didn't put me in the most optimal frame of mind for approaching it.

The problem is that this is a light and fluffy novel that was constantly engaging, yet I didn't believe in the characters or any of the twists and turns for a moment. Around a third of the way through, I was pondering how it reminded me of one of the lighter Hitchcock films, TO CATCH A THIEF. Shortly after that, two specific Hitchcock movies, NORTH BY NORTHWEST and REAR WINDOW, are referenced in the story. (In fact, the overall style is more like Hitchcock's final film, FAMILY PLOT.)

Now, I'm a huge fan of both Alfred Hitchcock and NORTH BY NORTHWEST. However, although I was carried away by the likable performances and iconic scenes such as the crop dusting attack, I never truly believed that Cary Grant's Roger Thornhill could actually exist. The scenes were constructed to deliver excitement, humor, romance, or a surprise. The dialogue was either too cute or too obvious. In fact, I was aware that I was being manipulated.

All of this applies to this book as well. Some of the dialogue is cringe-worthy, although most of it is designed to set up a humorous retort or extended light bantering. I liked the characters a great deal, yet they never seemed real. Some plot developments were effective in keeping the story moving, but they defied logic. And then, of course, there were the numerous story twists and turns created to elicit gasps of surprise. Unfortunately, I could sense the collaborating writers saying, "Hey, what if this happened? Wouldn't it be great?"

Perhaps it's because I've been倾向于 reading stories that had more substance in my recent selections, and this is like cotton candy served on a rollercoaster. Again, in a different state of mind, I would likely have adored it. (After all, there are times when I truly enjoy another pulp adventure with either Doc Savage or The Shadow.) Right now, it feels as if I completed a "by the numbers" exercise that was definitely entertaining and kept me reading. However, the story was not allowed to unfold naturally. It was manipulated to fit into a pattern.

Of course, in the final analysis, I'm taking a writing class, and one of the writers of this book is teaching it! Who am I to judge?

**Original Article**: This is a short article. It needs to be expanded and rewritten in English.

**Expanded Article**:

This is a rather concise article. It lacks the necessary details and elaboration. In order to make it more comprehensive and engaging, it requires expansion and rewriting.

By adding more specific examples, facts, and explanations, the article can become more informative and interesting.

Moreover, the language can be enhanced to make it more vivid and persuasive.

Proper sentence structure and grammar should also be ensured to make the article more readable and understandable.

Overall, with careful expansion and rewriting, this short article has the potential to become a high-quality piece of writing.

3.5 stars for Honeymoon.

Here is yet another story about a woman with a troubled mind. This time, she kills her rich husbands (yes, not just one husband) for their money.

However, it can be said that the reason why Nora becomes a killer is not clearly stated here. Okay, because of her past, but is it because she hates her father? Or because of her adoptive parents? Then what is actually in the letter that Nora's mother, Olivia, gives to Nora? Is it the reason why her mother killed her father? Or is it to tell her that she is not really adopted? (Which could actually be guessed from the beginning).

But it's still quite okay, there are also many twists.

By the way, why is James Patterson so obsessed with duets? It's already like Anang -_-

Light mystery read.

However, there were several significant matters that perplexed me. Firstly, once Nora killed the writer, it was quite a mystery how she managed to escape suspicion, especially considering she seemingly murdered Connor Brown about a month prior.

Moreover, the fact that she fell in love with the insurance agent seemed rather out of character for her.

Furthermore, it seemed quite absurd that no one in the FBI would have thought to conduct a background research check on her. Such a check would likely have led to the discovery that her mother was in a psychiatric hospital.

All in all, while it was somewhat enjoyable, it also had its fair share of silliness.

This book initially began in a great manner, featuring a black widow killer and a semi-smart investigator.

The story seemed to hold a lot of promise, with an interesting premise and engaging characters.

However, as the book progressed towards the ending, it turned out to be a disappointment.

There was a gaping hole in the logic, which made it difficult for the reader to fully believe and enjoy the conclusion.

I firmly believe that Patterson needs to screen his co-authored books a little more carefully.

If he doesn't, his reputation as a renowned author is likely to suffer.

He has built a strong brand over the years, and it's essential that he maintains the quality of his work to satisfy his loyal readers and attract new ones.

By being more vigilant in the selection and collaboration process, Patterson can ensure that his books continue to meet the high standards that his fans have come to expect.

This experience was truly very enjoyable and had a fast-paced nature that kept me engaged throughout.

The excitement and energy it brought were palpable, making it a great ride from start to finish. However, as the end approached, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment creeping in.

The conclusion seemed to fall short of my expectations, lacking the impact and resolution that I had hoped for. It left me with a bit of a letdown, as if something was missing.

Despite this, the overall experience was still quite good, and I would recommend it to others who enjoy a fast-paced and exciting adventure.

But it's important to note that the ending may not be to everyone's taste.

This book was, to say the least, highly entertaining!

The characters, despite being part of a relatively quick beach read, possess a remarkable depth.

The mystery in this particular story might not be overly complex or mind-boggling, but it does have just enough substance to keep you engrossed and reading in one sitting, especially if you're a dedicated Patterson fan.

What truly makes this book stand out are the characters themselves. There is a plethora of interactions and dynamics happening between them all.

Nora, in particular, is an absolutely awful human being, yet she is so fascinating to read about! It's quite humorous in a way.

My quick and simple overall assessment is that it's a great, quick read that's perfect for enjoying on a hot day in the sun. Although, in my case, I actually spent it in my recliner with the air conditioning blasting.

It's a light and engaging read that can provide a nice escape from the daily grind.

Whether you're lounging by the beach or in the comfort of your own home, this book is sure to offer some enjoyable moments.

So, if you're looking for a fast-paced and entertaining read, give this one a try!

I recently embarked on a week-long cruise, and I decided to take along "Honeymoon" by James Patterson as my reading companion. From the very first page, I was completely and utterly captivated by this thrilling novel. Patterson's masterful storytelling skills are truly remarkable, and they kept me fully engaged throughout my entire journey.

The characters in "Honeymoon" are richly developed and highly relatable. Patterson has a talent for creating characters that feel like real people, and this makes it easy to become deeply invested in their fates. I found myself eagerly turning the pages, desperate to discover what would happen next to these characters that I had grown to care about so much.

One of the things that I loved most about this book was the intricate plot twists that Patterson skillfully weaves throughout the story. Each twist is both surprising and satisfying, and they keep the reader on the edge of their seat from start to finish. The suspenseful narrative is perfectly paced, ensuring that there is never a dull moment. Patterson's ability to blend romance, mystery, and tension into one irresistible combination is truly impressive.

Undercover FBI agent John O'Hara is delving deep into the investigation of Nora Sinclair, a suspected black widow serial killer.

It has been a long time since I last picked up a Patterson book, but this one proved to be thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end. The narrative is fast-paced, with short chapters that keep the reader on the edge of their seat.

The story is so engaging that it's easy to become completely immersed in it. Before you know it, you've devoured the entire book.

Overall, I would rate this book a 4 out of 5. It has all the elements of a great thriller - a captivating plot, well-developed characters, and plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing.

If you're a fan of Patterson's work or just enjoy a good mystery, this book is definitely worth checking out.

The only good part of this book was Nora calling and checking up on her fiancé and her husband, which she referred to as “man maintenance.”

It was quite an interesting concept. Nora seemed to have this routine of making sure her significant others were doing okay, almost like she was taking care of them in a unique way.

This aspect of the story added a touch of humor and a different perspective on relationships. It made me wonder if other women also had similar ways of looking after their men.

Maybe it was her way of showing love and concern, or perhaps it was just a quirk of hers. Either way, it was a memorable part of the book that stood out among the other elements.

I found myself looking forward to those scenes where Nora would engage in her “man maintenance” activities.
