What I liked about this work is Patterson's unique approach.

He crafts short chapters, which makes it extremely convenient for readers to pick up and put down the book at any time.

Moreover, his introduction to the characters is very easy and straightforward, allowing readers to quickly get to know and engage with them.

However, there are also some aspects that I didn't like.

In some parts of the story, it seemed to lack a certain degree of realism.

The情节发展 sometimes felt a bit forced or artificial.

Nevertheless, despite these shortcomings, I would still recommend this work to those who enjoy an easy read with a touch of suspense.

It offers an entertaining experience that can keep readers hooked from beginning to end.

Overall, it has its strengths and weaknesses, but it is definitely worth a read for the right audience.

The review on the front cover's top exclaims, "WHAT A HONEY OF A STORY IT IS!... HONEYMOON IS SEXY AND SCARY."

However, in reality, it was far from being either of those.

To be honest, it was a rather predictable "black widow" tale, with just a few PG-13 allusions to sex or the act of having it. I could foresee the ending a whopping 200 pages before it actually occurred. Moreover, the few twists that were incorporated were merely minute details that wouldn't have been significantly missed if they had been omitted.

I believe the issue with my reading of these kinds of novels (by Patterson, Hoag, Higgins-Clark, etc.) is that I've simply outgrown them. I was devouring this sort of literature when I was 14 – half of my lifetime ago – and back then, they presented a challenge. But that's no longer the case.

I'm a discerning reader. I peruse a wide variety of books, am willing to and do explore new territories or sometimes even revisit old favorites. Even though most of the time I know precisely the kind of book that will capture my heart, and often what I have in my hand at that particular moment isn't it. I have a passion for reading and truly desire to love all books. But due to my pickiness, I end up loving very few.

I didn't have a profound love for this one. I liked it enough to maintain my interest and was able to complete it. Most likely, I won't remember much (if any) of it. It was light and easy to read, and has accompanied me through four different residences, patiently waiting to be read.

Sometimes, though, you require a quick, fluffy, and effortless read that's somewhat like a TV show, but not quite. That's precisely what this book was for me.

I have to say though. I really, really would have liked to have known exactly what was in the note Olivia wrote to Nora.

Fun read,

but I'm just not a big fan of how the author writes women.

The story itself has its interesting aspects and manages to keep the reader engaged. However, when it comes to the portrayal of women, there are some areas that could be improved. The author seems to fall into certain stereotypes or present women in a rather one-dimensional way. This makes it a bit difficult for me to fully connect with the female characters and understand their motivations and emotions. It would be great if the author could explore the complexity and diversity of women more deeply, giving them more rounded personalities and unique storylines. Overall, while the read is enjoyable, the way women are written is a bit of a let-down for me.

The usual formula of short chapters and fast-paced action that works wonders for James Patterson is once again on display.

It makes for a good, quick read that grabs your attention from the start.

I truly enjoyed this one. The short, punchy chapters not only generate fast-paced action but also help build up the suspense in a masterful way.

The synopsis is equally enticing. When FBI agent John O'Hara first encounters Nora Sinclair, she appears to be perfect. She has an impressive career, oozes charisma, and possesses a tantalizing sex appeal. The whole extraordinary package - Nora doesn't just attract men, she enthralls them. She has worked hard for this life and has no intention of giving it up.

However, there is a mystery surrounding Miss Sinclair. Why is the FBI so interested in her? Mysterious things keep occurring to the men in her life. And when Agent O'Hara takes a closer look, he discovers something dangerous in Nora - something that both lures him and fills him with fear.

The more time he spends with her, the less he knows whether he is pursuing justice or succumbing to his own fatal obsession. It's a thrilling tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Just WOW!!!

James Patterson is truly adept at crafting captivating plots.

It reminds me of a few weeks ago when I was watching the TV series Castle. The main character is Rick Castle, a thriller writer. When a murder case occurs that mimics the killings in his books, Castle helps the police solve the case. But when the murderer is easily caught, Castle is confused and dissatisfied. Something is missing and doesn't match the case.

Due to his confusion, Castle asks for advice from his writer friends, who happen to be Patterson himself and Michael Connely (each playing themselves, by the way). After hearing Castle's story, they comment, "That's it? Where's the twist?"

Well, when I was reading this book, I was reminded of that scene. The twists or unexpected turns/events (in my understanding :D) in this book start from the very beginning of the chapters.

Nora, who is beautiful, talented, and successful, has a wealthy and loving fiancé. Her career as an interior designer with high-class clients is also very satisfying and requires her to travel for business to meet her clients.

Well, imagine my surprise when I got to the following chapters and found out that there is a husband waiting for Nora in another state! No kidding, the husband is a best-selling novelist adored by women and has a whopping $6 million in emergency savings!

And when her fiancé and husband both die of a heart attack, I can only shake my head...

Patterson, you really really hooked me!

However, there are still some things that I think Patterson didn't explain well. What made Nora do such horrible things? Was she abused or molested as a child, causing her to hate men? Or was poverty so deeply ingrained in her that it motivated her to kill for money? Did witnessing her mother kill her father cause something to be missing in Nora's mind? Why did Nora's mother kill her husband? And what was in the letter that Nora's mother wrote to her?

Truly, I really want to know the answers to these questions.

I liked Nora Sinclair.

She was a remarkable person with many admirable qualities. Nora had a charming personality that could light up a room. Her smile was infectious, and it always made those around her feel at ease.

She was also extremely intelligent and had a great sense of humor. Conversations with her were always interesting and engaging. Nora was not afraid to speak her mind and would offer her honest opinions, which I respected.

In addition to her personality, Nora was also very talented. She was an excellent artist and could create beautiful paintings that captured the essence of her subjects. Her work was truly inspiring, and I always looked forward to seeing her latest creations.

Overall, Nora Sinclair was a wonderful person, and I was lucky to have known her. I will always remember her with fondness and cherish the memories we shared.

This is my first book to read with two authors.

And it is also my first book where Patterson is one of the authors.

I obtained this book several years ago because I took JP's masterclass, and he utilized this book as examples during the class.

When it reached the ending, I was a bit surprised and somewhat disappointed.

The small twists were a little perplexing.

Overall, it was an okay read.

It had its moments of interest, but the ending could have been stronger.

The twists, while intended to add excitement, ended up causing some confusion instead.

Despite this, I still managed to enjoy certain aspects of the story.

Perhaps with a different approach to the twists or a more satisfying conclusion, this book could have been a better read.

Nevertheless, it was an interesting experience to read a book by these two authors.

The premise of this story was indeed interesting, which initially piqued my curiosity. However, as I delved deeper into the book, the plot seemed to get lost within the first 100 - 200 pages.

The crime elements felt repetitive, lacking the excitement and novelty that one would expect from a good crime fiction. Moreover, the plot twist was not only annoying but also quite predictable. I found myself constantly anticipating something major to occur regarding this or that aspect of the story, but unfortunately, it all led to more questions that ultimately reached a dead end.

The ending, in particular, made no sense to me whatsoever. It left me feeling dissatisfied and confused.

On the positive side, I did like the framework of the story. Some of the characters were intriguing, which kept me engaged to a certain extent. Additionally, there was a good payback scene that provided a momentary sense of satisfaction.

If you're looking for a light crime fiction to read during your vacation, this book might be worth picking up. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it can offer some entertainment value if you don't expect too much.

I'm fairly certain that this was indeed the very first James Patterson novel that I've managed to read all the way through. To be honest, I was a bit underwhelmed by it. However, I suspect that this might not be his finest work.

"Honeymoon" features very short chapters, which I believe is a characteristic of most of Patterson's novels. This made it quite quick to breeze through.

I've always been highly character-oriented. If a book lacks good characterisation, I seldom give it a high rating. The characters in "Honeymoon" struck me as being very childish. They are privileged and petty, which is a rather fatal combination. Additionally, there were numerous character codenames, such as "The Tourist", which were easily confusing. It took me a while to get accustomed to them, and by the time I did, I was almost at the end of the book.

Part of the storyline involves our main character, Nora, lowering her guard. Given her role, this felt extremely uncharacteristic, and as a result, I wasn't entirely convinced by this book.

It wasn't terrible, but I don't think I'll be rushing to pick up the sequel.

Trigger warnings: mention of cancer, graphic sex, adultery, murder, psychiatric hospitalisation, attempted suicide.

This is a fast-paced thriller that, despite having some elements that don't quite add up, manages to keep you thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

The story unfolds at a breakneck speed, constantly throwing new twists and turns your way. You'll find yourself on the edge of your seat, eager to see what happens next.

However, upon closer inspection, there are a few plot holes and inconsistencies that might bother some readers. But don't let that deter you from enjoying the overall experience.

The characters are well-developed and engaging, and the author does a great job of creating a sense of tension and suspense.

Overall, if you're looking for a thrilling read that will keep you occupied for a few hours, this book is definitely worth checking out. Just don't expect it to be perfect.
