I'm currently binge-reading through this series multiple times for a work-related matter.

As a result, I'm not going to provide a proper review at the moment. However, this particular installment taught me some rather interesting and macabre things.

I learned about murder-by-burking, which is a rather gruesome method of killing. Additionally, I discovered how to fume a body with superglue for forensic purposes.

Now, I can't help but think that these newfound pieces of knowledge are going to make me the most shunned guest at the next cocktail party I attend.

People are likely to be rather uncomfortable when they hear about these topics of conversation.

Oh well, at least I'll have some unique stories to share, even if they might not be the most welcome ones.

Maybe I'll just have to keep these facts to myself and find more appropriate topics to discuss at social events.

Who knows, perhaps I'll end up being the life of the party after all, just not in the way I initially expected.

This one was much better than the fourth.

Once again we have two cases (or maybe three?) and both are interesting and tense. Completely different. Yuki, one of the four main heroines, is personally involved in one of them. Until the very end, I didn't know who was the culprit in the case of the "mysterious deaths" in the hospital, but I knew it wasn't the one everyone suspected. As for the second case, the idea was excellent, the strange murders of young "rich" women. I was surprised when they revealed who the murderer was. However, I would have liked there to be a little more investigation, a little more hunting. They solved it quite quickly. I thought that some things would remain unresolved, that we wouldn't find out who The Night Walker was after all, but in the end, even that was satisfactorily explained. The book was a good distraction for a couple of days (after the previous one with its almost 700 pages, whose reading took and took and took) and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

I'm really hoping that these books start to improve soon. You know, I truly adored the first few installments. They were engaging and had me hooked from the start. But unfortunately, the last couple of books have been quite a letdown.

The main plot, which revolved around the unexplained hospital deaths, really made me feel extremely uneasy. It actually managed to create a new fear within me. However, the secondary plot involving the car girls was so disjointed from the rest of the book. I'm really confused as to why it even existed. Like, girls were being murdered, there was a random moment of transphobia, and then the plot was wrapped up very quickly. I just can't figure out what it added to the overall story. As far as I can tell, it added absolutely nothing.

Overall, this book just didn't reach the level of quality that it could have achieved. I find myself getting more and more tired of Lindsay. I would really love to see more of Claire and the other women. They have so much potential, but unfortunately, in the last couple of books, they've just been pushed to the sidelines. They only seem to come into the spotlight when they're experiencing personal tragedies. It's really a shame.

Lindsay and the girls in the Women’s Murder Club are once again embroiled in a new mystery.

This time, the mysterious deaths are taking place within the walls of a hospital. Book 5, much like book 4, incorporates a touch of courtroom drama. I have to admit that I quite enjoy this addition to the story. It adds an extra layer of excitement and complexity.

One of the newer and interesting characters, Yuki, is given a significantly larger role in The 5th Horseman. She brings a fresh perspective and her own set of skills to the table.

All in all, this book is just as enjoyable to read as most of the previous installments in the series have been so far. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, guessing and speculating until the very end. If you're a fan of the Women’s Murder Club series, you won't be disappointed with this latest offering.

So, the question is how one catches a murderer in a municipal hospital.

They leave behind no clues other than 2 caduceus (medical coin) placed over the eyes.

The other case involves finding out who is killing women and leaving them inside luxury vehicles, dressed expensively.

On top of all this, Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer desires to be actively involved in the action rather than just being the department's supervisor.

In the Murder Club, there is murder, suspense, a crooked lawsuit, romance, and the loss of a loved one.

With all this going on, it sort of lost me to some extent, especially when the name of the book and its explanation were near the end of the story and had a biblical connection.

Overall, it was an okay read.

However, it could have been more engaging if the plot had been developed in a more straightforward manner and the connections had been made clearer earlier on.

The characters were interesting, but their actions and motives sometimes seemed a bit muddled.

Still, it had its moments of excitement and kept me reading to the end.

Perhaps with a bit more refinement, this could have been a truly great book.

I haven't read a James Patterson book for a long time. This particular one was donated to the Christian High School library. However, to my disappointment, there is one extremely graphic sex scene in it.

This graphic content makes it completely unfit for a Christian school environment. In addition to that, there are also a few scattered curse words throughout the book.

Despite these drawbacks, the story itself was quite strong and engaging. The characters were well-developed and fleshed out, which made the reading experience somewhat enjoyable.

But considering the inappropriate content, I have no choice but to throw this book away. It's a pity that such a well-written story has to be discarded due to these issues.

I hope that in the future, authors will be more conscious of the audience for whom their books are intended and will refrain from including such inappropriate material.

The four women are once again engaged in their endeavors, and this narrative vividly showcases their emotions, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. What I truly appreciate is that nothing is presented as being perfect. Instead, there are conflicts, doubts, and fluctuations. There isn't just one case in this story; rather, there are two robust cases, each with its own twist!

Jacobi emerges as my MVP in this round. I can envision him with such clarity, and I'm drawn to his tenacity and loyalty. Lindsey, too, is a strong character, but we witness her aversion to leadership reaching a critical point. I believe she has become more relatable than ever, given her concerns and worries regarding both personal and professional aspects. The ending and the beginning come full circle, and it was indeed a great experience delving into these matters along with Lindsey and her team!

This story offers a rich and engaging exploration of the characters and their various challenges, making it a captivating read from start to finish.

Another excellent entry in the saga of Homicide Detective Lindsey Boxer and her social club of professional women who work in law enforcement or journalism.

Lindsey is currently facing a double challenge. On one hand, she has to track down a pair of serial killers who have a disturbing modus operandi of posing their victim's dead bodies in cars. On the other hand, her friend's mom has unexpectedly passed away at a local hospital where there have been a significant number of mysterious deaths.

The books in this series move at a very fast pace, which is one of the aspects that I truly appreciate. The plots are engaging and interesting, constantly keeping the reader on the edge of their seat and eager to turn the page. However, I do have a couple of minor critiques. I wish Lindsey would spend more quality time with her dog, as it seems like an important part of her life that is sometimes overlooked. Additionally, I find it a bit hard to believe that someone of Lindsey's age could pull repeated all-nighters without it having a negative impact on her job performance.

Overall, despite these small drawbacks, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrilling mysteries with strong female characters. It's a great addition to the series and is sure to satisfy fans and newcomers alike.

Pretty terrible so far.

A friend informed me that these books deteriorate as the series progresses. I'm perhaps not even 50 pages in, and I've already thought at least 10 times that this book is SO blatantly written by a man (because women don't behave like that).

For instance, there are two female friends, a detective and a coroner, and they encounter each other at work - and hug. What??? I've collaborated with individuals I regard as great friends, yet I still don't HUG them when I arrive at work in the morning.

However, I require something effortless for the Memorial Day weekend - especially since I'll be flying and such. But up until now...1 star...

It seems that the author's portrayal of female characters doesn't quite align with my perception of how women interact in real life. The hugging scene between the two female friends at work just felt out of place and unrealistic.

Despite this, I'm still hoping that the book might improve as I continue reading, especially since I need something light to pass the time during my travels.

But based on what I've read so far, I can't give it more than 1 star.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong and the subsequent pages will offer a more engaging and believable story. Only time will tell.

This one really missed the mark for me.

The two storylines within the book seemed to exist in parallel universes, not coinciding with one another at all. It felt rather disjointed and made it difficult for me to fully engage with the narrative.

Moreover, both storylines ended quite abruptly. There was a lack of proper explanation and closure, leaving me with a sense of dissatisfaction. It was as if the author had simply run out of steam or time and decided to wrap things up hastily.

This installation in the Women’s Murder Club series is definitely not one of my favorite Patterson novels. I have come to expect more from this author, especially in this well-known series. I was hoping for a more seamless and engaging story, but unfortunately, this one fell short of my expectations.

James Patterson's "The 5th Horseman" is yet another thrilling addition to the Women's Murder Club series. In this installment, Patterson once again showcases his remarkable talent for crafting riveting tales. The plot is masterfully woven, filled with countless twists and turns that will keep readers on the edge of their seats, guessing until the very end. Each page turn brings a new surprise, leaving you breathless and eager for more.

The characters in "The 5th Horseman" are well-developed and highly relatable. Patterson has a knack for creating characters that feel like real people, with their own flaws, strengths, and emotions. This adds a significant depth to the story, making it not just a mystery but also a exploration of human nature.

Overall, "The 5th Horseman" is an absolute must-read for fans of the Women's Murder Club series. It continues the tradition of excellence that Patterson has established with this series. However, it is also a great read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery. With its engaging plot, well-developed characters, and thrilling twists, it is sure to satisfy even the most discerning mystery lover.

I had a distinct feeling that the doctor was implicated in it in some way. There was just something about his behavior and the way he interacted with the situation that made me suspect his involvement.

However, what truly shocked me was the nurse. I had always thought of her as a kind and trustworthy individual. She had always been there to assist the patients and provide care with a smile.

But now, I couldn't help but wonder if there was more to her than met the eye. Could she also be involved in whatever was going on? The thought sent shivers down my spine.

I needed to find out the truth, and fast. I decided to start looking into their backgrounds and see if I could uncover any evidence that would prove or disprove my suspicions.

It was going to be a difficult task, but I was determined to get to the bottom of it. No matter what the outcome, I had to know the truth.
