My last James Patterson book was a real disappointment.

I usually have a great passion for his works, which is the reason why I have devoured so many of them. However, this particular book was truly awful and felt like a torture to get through.

I had hoped to be captivated by the psychopaths in the story, but instead, all of the characters were extremely boring and completely lacked life.

It's not that they didn't seem real; rather, it's that we are given so little information about them that we simply don't care.

The lack of depth and development made it impossible for me to engage with the story or become invested in the characters.

Overall, this book was a major letdown and has made me question whether I will continue to read James Patterson's work in the future.

I've come across a plethora of reviews regarding this novel, many of which state that it's the very last James Patterson book the reviewer would ever consider reading. It's like the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. It's not hard to fathom the reasons behind this.

The plot is a chaotic mess, constantly jumping around among different character points of view, various settings, and even time itself. There is virtually no character development to speak of. We have no idea what the motivations are for the main antagonists.

The narrative is short and choppy, and the dialog sounds completely phony. It's so bad that not even a cameo by John Sampson could salvage this disaster. By the way, his presence is completely unexplained. He just pops in and out, and it amounts to absolutely nothing.

In conclusion, it's best to simply pass this one by and look for something else to read.

This thing is not of my likings at all.

To be honest, I actually found it extremely boring from the very beginning.

As time went by, I couldn't help but feel more and more uninterested.

However, I didn't give up completely. Instead, I decided to start reading between the lines.

I thought maybe there were some hidden meanings or interesting aspects that I had overlooked at first glance.

By doing so, I hoped to find something that could arouse my curiosity and make this experience a little more worthwhile.

Although it was still a bit of a struggle, I was determined to persevere and see if I could discover something new and exciting within this seemingly unappealing thing.

Awfully bad reading

I have always been a big fan of this author, but I never in my wildest dreams thought that he would attach his name to such a truly monstrous piece of bad writing. The story line was simply burdened with an excessive amount of complete nonsense. It was so convoluted and made no sense at all. The rhythm of the writing was also extremely confused. At times, it felt as if I was reading a children's book at bedtime, but not in a good way. I had to stay up late just to force myself to get through this terrible story so that I could finally be rid of it. I will surely remember this story for what it truly is, a MONSTROSITY! It has really disappointed me and made me question my previous admiration for this author. I hope he can learn from this and produce better works in the future.
Sincerely
Melvin Bazerman

This seemed a lot meatier than his usual offering. It was as if he had put in more effort and thought this time around. The content was more substantial and engaging, yet it was still a super-quick read.

You could breeze through it in no time, yet it left a lasting impression. It was like a delicious snack that you couldn't get enough of. Despite its brevity, it managed to pack a punch and convey important ideas.

It was a pleasant surprise to see such a well-written piece that was both concise and full of substance. It made you wonder what else he had in store for his readers. Overall, it was a great addition to his body of work and left you eager for more.

It was just, alright.

I had a really tough time getting into it.

From the very beginning to the end, it was a solid 3.

It was clearly written for the 70's, with numerous references that I simply didn't understand.

The language and the cultural context seemed so foreign to me.

Maybe if I had lived during that era, I would have been able to appreciate it more.

But as it stands, it was just an average experience.

I found myself struggling to connect with the story and the characters.

There were moments when I thought it might pick up and become more engaging, but it never really did.

Overall, it was an okay read, but nothing that blew me away.

I'm sure there are others who would love this book, but for me, it was just a 3 out of 5.

I couldn't finish reading this book.

From the very beginning, it seemed to be filled with too much senseless killing. Page after page, there were descriptions of violent acts that left me feeling rather queasy.

Moreover, there was no apparent plot that I could discern. The story seemed to jump around randomly, without any clear direction or purpose.

I found myself constantly asking, "What is the point of all this?"

I really wanted to like this book, but unfortunately, it just didn't hold my interest.

I gave up halfway through, hoping to find a more engaging and meaningful read elsewhere.

Perhaps others might enjoy this type of book, but for me, it was a definite miss.

We may wonder, but are we really certain that Patterson wrote it?

There could be various factors to consider. Maybe there are doubts about his authorship due to the style of writing not being entirely consistent with what is known of Patterson's work.

Or perhaps there are other possible candidates who could have had a hand in penning the piece.

It's important to carefully examine the evidence and look for any clues that might point to the true author.

Was there any specific context or circumstances surrounding the creation of this text that could shed light on who actually wrote it?

Without conclusive proof, it remains a matter of speculation whether Patterson is indeed the one responsible for putting those words on paper.

This was not well done at all.

It was extremely confusing and hard to follow.

The story seemed to lack a clear direction and purpose.

It just meandered along without really going anywhere significant.

As a result, the overall experience was very unsatisfying.

One could not help but feel disappointed with the way it was presented.

The lack of a coherent narrative made it difficult to engage with the story on a deeper level.

It failed to capture the reader's attention and hold it until the end.

Perhaps more thought and planning should have gone into the construction of the story to make it more engaging and fulfilling.

Overall, it was a missed opportunity to create a memorable and enjoyable piece of work.

The only good thing I found was the main character... which isn't that great either

This book was truly disgusting, and I'm not using that term lightly.

There are numerous unnecessary sexualizations of women throughout the text. Why on earth do we need to know the details of a character's breasts when she appears for only a single page and it has no bearing on the plot whatsoever? The simple answer is that we don't!

Unless the book aims to present the psychological profile of a pervert (and some books do, but this one clearly doesn't), then we should not have to endure the character or narrator's opinions on such matters.

Another aspect of this book that is simply abhorrent is the graphic sexualization of minors. There are two such instances, and both are completely unacceptable.

In one case, a teenage girl who is completely out of her mind is sexually abused by a grown man. There was absolutely no reason for this scene to be included in the book, and there can be no excuse for writing something so disturbing.

It was explicit and not portrayed as the horrible event that it is, which is extremely concerning.

Unless you have extremely perverse tastes, you are highly unlikely to enjoy this piece of trash.

My least favorite Patterson book is one that really disappointed me.

It had a storyline that seemed rather convoluted and lacked a clear direction. The characters, too, failed to engage me on a deeper level. They felt somewhat one-dimensional and didn't have the complexity that I usually expect from Patterson's works.

The pacing of the book was also an issue. It was either too slow in certain parts, making me lose interest, or too rushed in others, which didn't allow for proper development of the plot and characters.

Overall, this particular Patterson book just didn't live up to my expectations. I had high hopes for it, but unfortunately, it didn't deliver the kind of thrilling and engaging reading experience that I have come to associate with his name.

I'm still a fan of Patterson's work in general, but this book will definitely not be one that I recommend or revisit.
