My favorite of this series so far :)

This statement holds a great deal of significance for me. It implies that among all the installments in this particular series, there is one that stands out above the rest in my eyes.

Perhaps it's the unique plot that captured my attention from the very beginning, filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Or maybe it's the well-developed characters, each with their own distinct personalities and motives, making them truly relatable and engaging.

Whatever the reason may be, this favorite installment has left a lasting impression on me. It has become a source of entertainment, inspiration, and even a form of escape from the daily grind.

I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this series and whether there will be another installment that can surpass my current favorite. Until then, I will continue to cherish and revisit this wonderful piece of work.

Another exciting and quick read awaits, this time featuring the brilliant psychologist/detective Alex Cross and his persistent nemesis, the Mastermind.

In the previous novel, the identity of the Mastermind was revealed to the reader, but Alex Cross is still in the process of untangling the web of mystery surrounding this elusive foe.

Meanwhile, he has his hands full as he chases after some truly deranged individuals across different cities in the country, including San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Savannah.

As expected, this installment is filled with the characteristic staccato chapters and numerous twists and turns that make Patterson's works so popular.

However, don't look for deep and profound themes here. Instead, it offers simple yet enjoyable mind candy that will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Whether you're a die-hard fan of the Alex Cross series or just looking for a thrilling read, this book is sure to satisfy.

Quick, easy and perfect.

These three words perfectly describe my reading experience of the Alex Cross books.

I have been a huge fan of this series for a long time, and I just can't get enough of it.

The stories are always thrilling, with plenty of twists and turns that keep me on the edge of my seat.

The characters are well-developed and engaging, especially Alex Cross himself.

I love how he is such a complex and multi-faceted character, with a strong sense of justice and a heart of gold.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Alex Cross books to anyone who loves a good mystery or thriller.

They are quick to read, easy to understand, and yet still manage to be perfect in every way.

So, if you're looking for your next great read, look no further than the Alex Cross series.

Next please!

This one wasn't my favorite.

I felt that it took an inordinately long time to resolve the cliffhanger that we were left with in Roses are Red (Alex Cross #6).

The main plot of Violet are Blue (Alex Cross #7) was, in and of itself, interesting enough.

However, it just didn't manage to hold my attention in the same way that other Patterson books have been able to.

Perhaps it was the pacing of the story, or maybe it was the way the characters were developed.

Whatever the reason, I found myself losing interest as I read on.

Despite this, I still appreciate Patterson's writing style and his ability to create engaging stories.

I will likely continue to read his books in the future, hoping that the next one will be more to my liking.

I simply can't say enough good things about James Patterson's books, especially the Alex Cross Series. They are truly AMAZING!!!

I began reading this particular book with some initial doubts, thinking that the story seemed rather weird at first. However, as I delved deeper into it, it definitely redeemed itself.

Just like the previous book in the series, this one also had its own charm and吸引力. The last 2 chapters and the final sentences were truly WOW!!! They left me on the edge of my seat, eager for more.

James Patterson has a unique way of crafting stories that keep readers hooked from start to finish. His characters are well-developed, and the plots are full of twists and turns that keep you guessing.

If you haven't yet discovered the Alex Cross Series, I highly recommend that you do so. You won't be disappointed!

Number 7 in the Alex Cross series

This is a rather macabre little story. The highly visible villains are sociopathic, wannabe vampire brothers. They, with prosthetic vampire teeth, bite their victims to death and then drain them of their blood. The more important villain, the mastermind, remains invisible to everybody, including Alex Cross.

Alex, with the help of the FBI, is in hot pursuit of the vampires. Despite being as good as he is, the brothers always seem to be one step ahead. To make matters worse for Alex, he keeps receiving phone calls from the mastermind, threatening all sorts of sordid revenge on everyone that Alex holds dear.

When the mastermind is finally revealed, although I had seen it coming from a long way off, it was still a jaw-dropper when it happened.

This is typical of James Patterson, with short chapters filled with lots of death and violence. There is nothing much to stretch the brain, just a quick, easy, and entertaining read.

Recommended for lovers of murder and mayhem.

It has been quite some time since I last delved into an Alex Cross book.

Fortunately, I recalled this remarkable series. To my surprise, I managed to figure out the plot before Alex did.

However, it was still an incredibly intense psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat.

The story was filled with twists and turns that made it impossible to put down.

I am now extremely interested in seeing what lies ahead for Cross.

Will he face even greater challenges? Will he solve more complex mysteries?

These questions have piqued my curiosity, and I am determined to continue the series.

I can't wait to discover the next thrilling adventure that awaits Alex Cross.

The book delved into the investigation of several murders that took place.

They observed that each victim had bite marks on the neck and all the blood was drained from the body.

The two vampire brothers would embark on man hunts and suck people's blood while they were still alive.

Kyle Craig, known as the mastermind, was the one dispatching the two brothers to kill specific individuals.

Alex Cross was bitten by a boy who claimed to be a vampire and got an infection as he didn't go to the hospital immediately.

When he was sleeping at his house, the mastermind broke into his home in the middle of the night with the intention of killing him but didn't because his daughter lay by his bed the whole night waiting for him to recover.

Jamilla, one of Alex's friends from the investigation team, was kidnapped. So, Alex and Kyle, who supposedly knew nothing, went to a barn to find her.

They found her and a group of guys with fangs. Alex accidentally shot one of the brothers in the head because they were trying to run him over, and the only way to stop the car was to shoot at it. So, when he did, he killed one of the brothers.

When he killed both brothers, he found the sire, who was the vampires' boss, and before he could even question him, Kyle shot him.

I liked this book. It was better than the first one as it had more action. It was extremely interesting. At first, I didn't want to put it down, but eventually, I stopped reading it as much because I was busy with a lot of homework. I can't wait to read the third book because every book of James Patterson is very interesting and makes you not want to stop reading it.

Dumb reader alert…

Do you know it took me until this book to realize that all these titles were nursery rhyme/poem titles… I feel like a dufus.

Honestly, I was really expecting more from this book, but nonetheless, I did love it!

The book started with Kyle and Alex working together. Of course, I know from "Roses are Red" that Kyle is the mastermind, and I just want Alex to know… like I was screaming at a scary movie, "Don’t do it!!! He’s the killer!!!"

So this book did touch on a little bit of the paranormal in the sense that Alex was learning about vampire culture because, well, you know the victims were being bit… like bitten by humans!

I thought I would appreciate that, but it was more than a little disturbing.

Also, I like Jamilla WAY WAY WAY WAY more than I like Christine. She and Alex seem to get on way better, and she is in law enforcement… Win win.

I thought the vampire party with Daniel and Charles to be super cool. I caught myself wondering if I could find one of those in real life… not that I want to get bit or anything like that, but it would be a fun atmosphere!

Finally, though, he figures out that Kyle is the mastermind… I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out when he was going to get it! Sometimes I just want to reach in the book and shake these characters.

The story had its ups and downs, with the mystery keeping me on the edge of my seat. The paranormal aspect added an interesting twist, although it was a bit creepy at times. The characters were well-developed, and I found myself really invested in their relationships and the outcome of the story. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, even if it didn't quite meet all of my expectations.

Wild setting, bizarre characters - it's as if the author has an unwavering need to crank up the excitement.

However, there's still that persistent nagging feeling of less than professional FBI work. There's simply too much repetition, both in the text and within the characters themselves.

Yet, that sense of anger serving as a driving force, that tenacious never-say-die spirit, and the suspense - they're all great. It's nice to seemingly complete a story, but it does indeed add an extra layer of suspense.

I'm accustomed to depressed detectives and constant danger, but this guy could be a bit happier. He has his happy moments, but he tells us about them far too often. I truly wish I knew his love for music as well as I know Heironimus Bosch's.

Overall, the story has its strengths and weaknesses, but it manages to keep the reader engaged with its unique blend of elements.

When I first read that the Mastermind was back, I was certain that this book wouldn't be of much interest to me. After all, the Mastermind's story in the previous book had failed to capture my attention. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Mastermind was actually the best part of this new installment.

This book follows the Mastermind as he returns, hot on the trail of Alex Cross. His cold and taunting threats not only leave Alex angry but also deeply concerned for the safety of his family while he is away from home. Meanwhile, Alex teams up with Jamilla Hughes, a savvy woman detective, to investigate the mysterious deaths of two joggers who were found bitten and hung by their feet to drain their blood. Could it be vampires?

The Mastermind plot this time around was truly captivating. It was a gripping and compelling read, filled with numerous twists and turns. I both loved and hated his interruptions into Cross' life. On one hand, it was exciting and intense, but on the other hand, I really wanted Alex and his family to be free from harm as I had grown to love them throughout the series.

Unfortunately, I didn't like the 'vampire' storyline at all. It paled in comparison to the Mastermind plot and seemed completely unnecessary. The two storylines didn't blend well together, and I often found myself wanting to skip those parts of the book. I really don't know what James Patterson was thinking when he included this aspect in the story.

Overall, this book is purely worth a read just for the thrilling Mastermind plot!
