I absolutely adored this book. The Bennett family is truly amazing. Their characters are so well-developed and engaging. Each member has their own unique personality and charm. And the best part is that the baddies don't get away with everything! There is a sense of justice and fairness that prevails throughout the story. It's so satisfying to see the good guys come out on top. I will definitely be reading more of this series. I can't wait to see what adventures the Bennett family will have next. I'm sure it will be just as exciting and entertaining as this book. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a good mystery or adventure story.

This is by far my favorite James Patterson book so far!

Micheal Bennett may be one of the most likable characters in any book I have ever read. He is a father of 10 adopted children, and his loving wife is dying of cancer. Despite all these difficulties, Bennett must step up and help save 34 celebrities who are being held captive by some of the most evil people one will ever encounter.

The story is filled with mystery and suspense, keeping you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. You will find yourself constantly guessing who the captors are and what their motives are.

At the same time, the book also tugs at your heartstrings as you follow Bennett's struggle to balance his family life with his duty to save the celebrities. You will feel his pain and his determination, and you will root for him every step of the way.

If you like mysteries and you like your heart string tug on a little bit, then you will love this book. It is a must-read for any fan of James Patterson or anyone who enjoys a good thriller.

After only reading this book, I have become a huge fan of Detective Michael Bennett.

The book is extremely well written. The author has masterfully crafted a story that is filled with suspense and is truly riveting from start to finish.

One of the great aspects of this book is that the chapters are short. This made it very easy for me to keep telling myself that I would just read one more chapter. However, before I knew it, I found myself not being able to put the book down until at least ten chapters later.

The short chapters also added to the overall pacing of the story, making it feel like I was on a thrilling ride that I couldn't get off.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery or detective story. It is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more.

There wasn't anything I liked about this book,

except for the family aspect. It was a glimmer of warmth in an otherwise unappealing story.

Unfortunately, the book didn't end all that happily. I had a hunch it wouldn't, but still, it was a letdown.

I don't much like political thrillers to begin with. The plot of someone trying to kill the president's wife by giving her nuts seemed rather far-fetched.

And the Neat Man? Oh, he was just super annoying. His character added nothing positive to the narrative.

I did like Michael's character well enough, and I really liked the kids. They were the saving grace of the book.

But overall, this book just didn't do it for me at all. It failed to engage me or hold my interest.

I'd be perfectly happy if I could go through the rest of my life never again reading a James Patterson novel. It seems that his style just isn't for me.

This is the book that truly got me back into the wonderful world of reading a few years ago.

It holds a special place in my heart as I find great comfort within its pages.

The words seem to flow like a gentle stream, carrying me away to different places and times.

A few years later, when I circled back to this book, it was like reuniting with an old friend.

I found this book to be highly unbelievable.

What busy detective is going to have ten adopted children!? It's truly absurd. And how odd is it that the former first lady is murdered and at her funeral, terrorists see this as an opportunity to strike?

At the same time, his wife loses her battle with a deadly disease, leaving him with all the children and a high-profile case. This story is far too cliché and predictable.

We barely get into the depth of the characters and there seem to be numerous plot holes.

The insanely short chapters made me feel like I was reading a play rather than a novel.

It seems to me that the strain of producing so many books a year is causing Mr. Patterson to be rather lazy in his work.

He is simply churning out books for profit, rather than focusing on genuine storytelling.

I've not given up on James Patterson though, as I have been told his Experiment novels are much better than these crime dramas.

Perhaps I will have better luck there, but I'm certain this is the last of his murder mysteries I will read.

Die-hard Patterson fans will no doubt love this, but it's just not my cup of tea.

Really, it's 3.5 or 3.75 stars.

It's not Patterson's typical page-turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. However, it is still a page-turner in its own right.
