Cok zekice planlanmis!

Expanded version:

The action is not bad but it is tiring. There are too many words and events. It might be good to watch as a film but it seems excessive in the book.

The main role here is Michael Bennet, one of the important people in the police organization. He has to take on the mediation task in a hostage incident. It is very cleverly planned! It takes quite a while to understand what the real planner of the hostage situation is like.

That is to say, a rather intelligent and responsible organization is shown but because Michael is super intelligent and a great person! (He adopted 10 children and even in the face of the death of his beloved wife, he still does his job in the best way.)

In the end, the culprits are found but who they are, everything gets intertwined here... Whoever wants can read. Even if it is not a literary masterpiece, it is still worth spending time on.

It's okay for a thriller. The way it reads is quite similar to a TV movie script. There are numerous short action-packed scenes that keep the reader on the edge of their seats. Each scene is filled with excitement and anticipation, making it difficult to put the book down. What's more, at the end of every chapter, there is a clever quip that adds a touch of humor and lightens the mood a little. It's a unique style that gives the thriller a different flavor. Overall, it's an engaging read that will satisfy fans of the genre.

James Patterson is an author who has a remarkable talent for writing excellent books. His works are not just good; they are truly outstanding.

One such book is "Step on a Crack." In this novel, readers have the pleasure of getting to know Michael Bennett and his large family. It's a delight to discover that this is the first in a long series.

While some people might criticize Patterson for his short chapters, I, on the other hand, find them to be a great asset. These short chapters add a sense of urgency to the story, which is perfectly in line with the genre of the book.

Moreover, the short, choppy chapters make reading not only easy but also speedy. It allows the reader to quickly progress through the story and stay engaged.

"Step on a Crack" is written as a police procedural, and I appreciate the way in which every character, including the main protagonist, goes about their job in a proper and professional manner. No one rushes blindly into a dangerous situation, which adds to the authenticity of the story.

Overall, I found this book to be very enjoyable, and I look forward to reading the entire series in the future. James Patterson has once again proven himself to be a master of his craft. Step on a Crack is definitely a must-read for fans of the mystery and thriller genres.

This is a truly brilliant story that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

The funeral of the Mayor's wife takes a dramatic turn when it is hijacked, and hostages are taken. What makes it even more intense is that only the rich and famous are targeted.

The emotions in this story are palpable, and at one point, I was so moved that I actually shed a tear. It really makes you think about the value of life and how quickly things can change.

Overall, this is an excellent and worthy read that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a thrilling and emotional story. It's a page-turner that will leave you with a lot to think about long after you've finished reading.

I absolutely loved this book!! It was the first Patterson crime book that I’ve ever read, and I am truly impressed. From the very beginning to the end, it was filled with suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I found it so difficult to put the book down that I actually had to force myself to stop reading and go to sleep. Books that have such a powerful hold on me are truly amazing.

I kind of regret not giving Patterson a chance earlier. But, as they say, live and learn. I am now determined to read more of his works.

This book definitely deserves five stars!! It has set a high standard for crime novels, and I can’t wait to explore more of Patterson’s thrilling stories.

Epic fail.

The best thing that could be said about this book is that it could serve as an invaluable tool for writing teachers. They can use it to demonstrate to their students how NOT to write a novel. It breaks every rule for good writing imaginable.

Not to mention that everything about "Step on a Crack" is shallow and unconvincing. The plot is weak, the characters lack depth, the drama feels forced, the action is unexciting, the romance is unconvincing, and the comedic relief falls flat. Everything about it is just bad.

How sad that Patterson gets paid by the boatload to pen such dreck. The story comes across as an ill-advised combination of "Cheaper By the Dozen" and "Dog Day Afternoon", as if written by a high school kid.

It would be better to stick with Patterson's previous Ledwidge collaboration, "The Quickie", which actually gets a few things right and is reasonably entertaining to boot. I give "Step on a Crack" two stars instead of one simply because at least a few of its 116 chapters were somewhat amusing, and it's a very quick read.

But overall, it's a disappointment and not a book that I would recommend to anyone.

Michael Bennett's Thriller: A Captivating Read

Michael Bennett's latest thriller is an exciting addition to his series. Set in Patterson, it marks a new era for the author who has now limited his chapters to just 3 pages. But don't let that fool you, as this story is full of twists and turns.

The wife of a former president is brutally murdered in a restaurant (yes, you read that right - a former president's wife!). The funeral is a grand affair, attended by a who's who of New York society - politicians, celebrities, priests, and singers. And of course, there's heavy police protection.

But things take a turn for the worse when a group of priests take the entire congregation hostage inside the church and demand a ransom. Enter Michael Bennett, who is called in to negotiate.

The action heats up as the kidnappers make their demands and Bennett races against time to solve the mystery of their identities. Along the way, he also has to deal with some personal issues that threaten to tear his family apart.

Overall, this is a solid thriller that doesn't disappoint. It may not have the same level of drama as some of Bennett's previous works, but it's still an enjoyable read. With its short chapters and fast-paced plot, it's perfect for those who want a quick and easy thriller to pass the time.

However, there is one thing that has been bothering me since I finished reading the book. What happened to the body of the former president's wife? Did they just leave it there? It's a small detail, but it's one that keeps popping up in my mind.

The first installment of the series centered around top NYPD detective Michael Bennett. I had previously read "Tick Tock" and discovered while perusing the inner book cover that it was the latest in a series featuring Bennett. I'm extremely glad I took a chance and purchased my first Patterson novel, "Toys," as this author is now firmly on my list of top favorite authors. I'm in awe of how he can produce so many books, and yet they're all incredibly good. "Step On A Crack" is no exception; I was on the edge of my seat throughout this highly intriguing page-turner. Here, top NYPD detective Michael Bennett is introduced, along with his ailing wife Maeve, who is hospitalized with terminal cancer, and their 10 adopted children from various nationalities.

The Christmas holidays have arrived, and as all the citizens of N.Y. rush home with their gifts and prepare for their individual festivities, the Bennetts are striving to maintain happy faces while their mother is in the hospital with very little time left. Michael, while dealing with this personal trauma, gets drawn into a hijacking/hostage situation. During the first lady's funeral, some very dangerous individuals take over St Patrick's Cathedral, which is filled with the who's who of the wealthiest people from all walks of life, including actors, politicians, and various other affluent individuals. We observe as Bennett, who has been named the chief negotiator for this case, attempts to balance all of this with his home life without everything falling apart.

It's a great page-turner that I completed in no less than 3 days, as I typically do with all of Patterson's reads. Even though his body of work is extensive, I'm now rapidly working my way through the collection and can't wait for the next read.

A good start for a new James Patterson series.

I truly liked the fact that in this Patterson novel, there is only one major investigation. During the funeral of a former First Lady, an attack takes place, and the rich and famous are held hostage. It is up to Michael Bennett to attempt to negotiate with the leader, Jack.

I believe that Patterson leans towards quantity rather than quality. Many of his recent books have so many diverse plots crammed into them that it becomes difficult to keep track of everything and obtain a high-quality story. Fortunately, this one adopted a different approach, and I appreciated that. Of course, it wasn't the finest novel I've read regarding a hostage situation, but it was still enjoyable and an easy read.

I also think that with this novel (and series), one needs to put aside reality. It seems highly unrealistic that a NYPD detective would have ten children and be almost single-handedly raising them.

This aspect might make it a bit challenging for some readers to fully immerse themselves in the story. However, if one can overlook this and simply enjoy the action and drama, it can still be an entertaining read. Overall, it's a promising start to a new series, and I'm curious to see where Patterson takes it next.
