Dr. Don Colbert appears to be highly intelligent in the field of medicine.

However, when it comes to writing, it seems he suffers from a case of literary amnesia. What I mean by this is that nearly every other page is a repetition of what he has already stated multiple times.

I have the impression that when individuals have a subject they desire to write about but lack sufficient content to fill an entire book, they resort to filling it with nonsensical rubbish and repeating themselves extensively.

For instance, the first chapter informs you that by cleansing your liver through a diet of fruits and vegetables and an all-juice fast, you can eliminate numerous chronic illnesses that afflict most Americans.

The subsequent countless chapters continue to rephrase this point in a not-so-subtle manner, stating things like, "Chronic illnesses can be traced back to what we eat, and by detoxing our liver, we can eliminate them."

Fortunately, this book can be read quickly, especially if you learn to identify the repetitions and simply skip over them.

Another aspect of this book that I find rather laughable is Colbert's integration (or attempted integration) of health and religion. The book consists of three volumes, with the third titled "Spiritual Fasting."

Here, the author attempts to convince the reader that God is just as crucial in maintaining physical health as a good liver cleanse. Just like Christian rock, I believe that this is a subject from which God should be excluded. I skipped the last few chapters.

Nevertheless, I did like some of the metaphors used in the book to explain the body's processes to the average person (myself), such as the comparison of the liver to a car's oil filter and the blood to the oil.

However, similar to the book itself, this metaphor is somewhat disjointed because if you correctly interpret the analogy, it would imply that you need to have a liver transplant and a blood transfusion every couple of years and that you can purchase a new body when yours completely fails.

Overall, I rate this book 3 out of 5 God-fearing livers.

Could not finish.

The dose of dogma was toxic. It poisoned the mind and hindered progress. Dogma, with its rigid and unyielding nature, leaves no room for exploration and innovation.

It forces people to conform to a set of beliefs and ideas, regardless of their validity or applicability. This kind of thinking can lead to stagnation and close-mindedness, preventing individuals and society from evolving.

We must break free from the shackles of dogma and embrace a more open and flexible approach to knowledge and understanding. Only then can we truly move forward and achieve progress.

Definitely, there were some new and good ideas in it.

However, I have read an excessive number of health books, and as a result, it has become increasingly difficult for one to truly stand out anymore.

The plethora of available health literature makes it a challenge for any particular book to distinguish itself.

Perhaps this book had some interesting concepts, but in the sea of countless others, it struggled to make a significant impact.

Nonetheless, it is important to continue exploring different health books in the hope of finding those rare gems that offer truly unique and valuable insights.

Maybe with more time and a more discerning eye, I will come across that one health book that will truly change my perspective and make a lasting impression.

This is a truly great book.

It contains a wealth of scientific information that backs up the content presented. I am definitely going to give it a try, but I need to wait until I have enough time to fully commit to the juice fast.

One of the things I really liked about this book is that in the back, it has a devotional section on religious fasting. It was quite interesting and enjoyable to read.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a healthy way to fast or detox their body. Whether you are interested in the scientific aspects or the spiritual side of fasting, this book has something for everyone.

It provides valuable insights and practical tips that can help you achieve your health and wellness goals. So, if you are ready to embark on a journey of self-improvement and better health, this book is definitely worth checking out.

Although the gaunt-looking gent on the cover is not the greatest advertisement for this book, we cannot judge it solely based on that!

Dr. Colbert's book is highly accessible and truly simplifies the process of cleansing. It clearly explains what occurs in your body as a result of the cleansing process. It definitely instilled a healthy fear of toxins in me!

I didn't read the entire book from cover to cover, but chapters 6 through 9 were outstanding and served as an excellent starting point for my personal detox journey.

These chapters provided valuable insights and practical tips that I could easily apply to my own life. The author's writing style is engaging and easy to understand, making it a great resource for anyone interested in improving their health through detoxification.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to learn more about the benefits of cleansing and how to support their body's natural detoxification processes.

I firmly believe that if every single person were required to read this particular book, it is highly likely that at least half of them would make significant improvements, especially when it comes to their eating habits.

This book seems to have the power to bring about a positive transformation in people's perspectives and behaviors regarding food.

As a result, it is quite conceivable that juicers and blenders would probably face a situation where they go out of stock sooner or later.

The reason for this is that people, after reading the book, might become more inclined towards preparing healthy juices and smoothies at home, thereby increasing the demand for these appliances.

In conclusion, the impact of this book on people's eating habits and the potential consequences for the market of juicers and blenders are indeed quite remarkable.
