"It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then." ♥
This profound statement holds a wealth of truth. We are constantly evolving and changing as individuals. The experiences we have, the people we meet, and the choices we make all shape us into who we are today. Going back in time would not change the fact that we have grown and learned from those past events.
I adore this book. It's a classic. It's a legend. It has stood the test of time and continues to captivate readers of all ages. The story is filled with imagination, adventure, and valuable life lessons. It takes us on a journey through a magical world and introduces us to unforgettable characters. This book is not just a source of entertainment, but also a source of inspiration and wisdom. It reminds us that life is a journey of self-discovery and that we should embrace change and growth.
How long is forever? This is a profound question that has intrigued philosophers, poets, and thinkers throughout the ages. The answer, it seems, can be quite unexpected. Sometimes, forever is just one second. In that fleeting moment, a lifetime of emotions, memories, and experiences can be compressed. A single second can hold the power to change a life forever. It could be the moment when you fall in love, make a crucial decision, or witness a miracle. In that one second, time seems to stand still, and the world around you fades away. Forever is no longer a distant concept but a tangible reality that exists within the briefest of instants. So, the next time you find yourself wondering about the length of forever, remember that it might just be a single second away.
This book is not for me (=_=)
I read this book almost a year ago. I still vividly remember the feelings that surged within me while reading. The writing style was truly remarkable. However, it was the PLOT that was the whole issue. Alice was masterfully written, yet I simply couldn't establish a connection with her. I didn't have much concern for her. I didn't really care whether she would manage to get out of Wonderland or not. I'm not sure why I couldn't connect with any of the elements in this book, despite everything being great on paper.
My problems were:
The entire plot unfolds within Alice's dream. The whole of Wonderland is a product of Alice's imagination. And the adventures were so dreadfully boring.....so dull that it felt like this:
Aside from my dislikes, Wonderland does hold a certain degree of interest.
You might be curious why I rated this 4 stars if I didn't particularly like this book. Right?
I believe it would be unjust to rate this book that low. One must understand that this book was written in the 1860s, which is approximately 150 years ago. For that era, this book is indeed a masterpiece.
Regarding my issue with the dream aspect, I think the author did that perhaps because he thought nobody would appreciate this book if he presented everything as happening in reality, like modern-day fantasies. In a dream, everything is possible. This is the reason that comes to my mind. If you have any other thoughts, feel free to comment.
Another reason I didn't rate it lower is that this book is one of the very first books ever written in the fantasy genre. It introduced readers to the enchanting world of fantasy. I've heard this, but I'm not sure if it's true or not.
Regardless of my personal feelings, I will most definitely read its next book: Through the Looking Glass
Very soon!
Or if you are looking forward to reading this book, go ahead. Read it! Don't be deterred by my review. This is not my intention.
