I read this book earlier this year, before COVID-19 confined us to our homes. Now, stuck inside, I'm feeling bored and too lazy to pick up any book. So, what do I do? Obviously, I come here to criticize a book I didn't like. (*Evil smirk*)

Let's start. Reading a children's book as an adult is quite an experience, isn't it? Let's discuss it in terms of pros and cons.

Pros:

1. It allows the imagination to run wild, without any restrictions on thoughts. As a child, I would have loved to read such an unconventional book.

2. Alice is a brave girl who goes on adventures on her own. Thank goodness! I'm tired of girls waiting for a prince to rescue them from every little thing.

3. That's about it for the pros. Now, let's move on to the cons.

Cons:

1. The imagination runs wild, really wild! (I know it seems contradictory, but you know what I mean.) Anything can happen in the story, and it does.

2. I believe children's books should teach them some lessons. Let's see what Alice in Wonderland teaches:

(i) Alice wanders around and follows anyone without thinking even once. No, kids, that's not how you do it. You could get killed, kidnapped, or at least lost.

(ii) She eats and drinks anything without even trying to find out if it's edible or not. Girl, you might die, get kidnapped, or at least get sick.

(iii) She keeps judging people and I don't see her showing any respect. At one point, she calls her classmate ugly (or something similar). Nope, we don't teach our kids that.

(iv) People are mocked for their emotions and physical features. (No thank you. I'll read Panchatantra to my kids instead.)

Bye for now. I'll come back if I feel the need to edit anything. And please don't hate me if you love this book. We're all entitled to our own opinions.

Alright, I'm back.

Isn't it truly hilarious to take a trip down memory lane and revisit those enchanting childhood stories? The ones that painted magical worlds, making the universe seem infinitely vast. But now, as an adult, looking back, it's astonishing to see how much smaller everything appears. It's quite remarkable that for such a seemingly diminutive tale, it has left an indelible mark on the entire landscape of pop culture.

Anyway, as has always been the case, it was the dialogue that really stuck with me. It's the very same thing that has captivated me since the very first time I delved into the pages of this book. Because nothing about it is ordinary or standard. The characters are engaged in a perpetual game of one-upmanship, vying to see who can twist and manipulate language more skillfully. They are constantly questioning the words that Alice utters and rephrasing them in such a way as to completely transform their meaning.

All in all, I'm overjoyed that I rediscovered this book sitting on my bookshelf. It had been ages since I last flipped through its pages. It's always a wonderful experience to remind oneself why a classic is, in fact, a classic. It holds a special charm and significance that endures through the ages.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a classic children's story, but what if it was more like Alice on crack?

Imagine a world where the colors are brighter, the characters are more eccentric, and the rules of logic don't apply.

Alice would find herself in a place where everything is topsy-turvy and she has to use her wits to survive.

She might meet a talking rabbit who is high on mushrooms, or a caterpillar who is smoking a hookah and spouting philosophical nonsense.

The Cheshire Cat could be replaced by a hallucinogenic feline that disappears and reappears at will, leaving behind a mischievous grin.

Alice's journey would be filled with strange and wonderful experiences, but also with danger and confusion.

It would be a wild ride that she would never forget, and one that would challenge her perception of reality.

More like Alice on crack, this version of the story would be a psychedelic adventure for the ages.

How did this ever become so popular?

I truly wonder how something that is supposed to be pure nonsense could gain such a high level of popularity.

I mean, I understand that it's labeled as nonsense, but who in their right mind would actually want to read something that makes no sense at all?

I just don't get it.

Maybe there's some hidden charm or appeal that I'm not seeing.

Perhaps it's the very fact that it's so different and unexpected that吸引了 people.

Or maybe it's a form of escapism for those who are tired of the ordinary and the rational.

Whatever the reason may be, it's clear that this nonsense has managed to capture the attention and imagination of a large number of people.

And yet, I still find myself scratching my head, trying to figure out what it is that makes it so appealing.

Maybe one day I'll finally understand.

Brilliantly bonkers!

This phrase perfectly encapsulates something that is both extremely clever and completely crazy at the same time. It describes a situation, idea, or creation that defies normal expectations and takes a wild and unexpected turn.

When we encounter something that is brilliantly bonkers, it often catches us off guard and makes us laugh or gasp in surprise. It can be a work of art, a scientific discovery, a marketing campaign, or even a person's behavior.

The beauty of the brilliantly bonkers is that it challenges our preconceived notions and forces us to think outside the box. It shows us that there are infinite possibilities and that sometimes, the most unlikely ideas can lead to the most amazing results.

So, the next time you come across something that is brilliantly bonkers, don't be afraid to embrace it. Let it inspire you and open your mind to new and exciting possibilities. Who knows what amazing things you might discover?

I had a truly awful experience attempting to read this when I was a child. It simply didn't make any sense to me whatsoever. I couldn't get into the spirit of the nonsense even a little bit. Instead, I thought it was all extremely stupid and I couldn't fathom the commotion around it at all.

This time, when I was trying to read it for a class, I found it a bit more interesting solely because I was contemplating the way it is constructed, the intended audience, and the themes that I believe do shine through the nonsense. For instance, the issue of identity is undeniable, with Alice constantly pondering whether she is the same person as she was the day before.

However, I'm afraid I still don't feel especially enthusiastic. In many respects, it really does seem to be nonsense mostly for the sake of being nonsense, and I've never been able to relate to that. I can see the value in analyzing its structure and themes, but it still doesn't hold a great deal of appeal for me on a personal level.

Perhaps with further study and a deeper understanding, I might come to appreciate it more, but for now, my initial impressions still linger.

The Disney version of this story is truly remarkable in how closely it adheres to the original book. It's almost as if they managed to capture the essence of the story with great precision.

In the book version, however, the mouse and the Cheshire cat take on an even more enchanting quality. The descriptions of the mouse's antics and the Cheshire cat's mysterious grin are brought to life in a way that the movie just can't quite match.

Reading the book allows you to fully immerse yourself in the world of the story and discover all the little details that make it so special. It's like taking a journey through a magical land, filled with wonder and excitement.

Overall, both the Disney version and the book have their own unique charm, but for those who truly want to experience the full beauty of the story, the book is the way to go.

I couldn't say precisely how many versions of this I've read or witnessed since my childhood. However, it continues to bring me joy even as an adult. Recently, I had to re-read it for an online science-fiction/fantasy course, and it still managed to make me burst into laughter.

The constant puzzling over the strange creatures and the crazy dialogue never seems to grow old. It's as if there's an eternal charm to it.

Perhaps it's because, in a way, we are all a little mad here. The story's eccentricity and absurdity resonate with something deep within us, allowing us to escape from the ordinary and embrace the奇妙 and the unknown.

It's a reminder that sometimes, the most enjoyable and captivating experiences are found in the realms of the imagination, where anything is possible and the rules of reality can be bent and broken.

They're both amazing, the cartoon and the book *-*

The cartoon brings the story to life in a vivid and colorful way. The characters are animated with great detail and their expressions and movements add a whole new dimension to the narrative. The bright colors and engaging visuals make it a treat for the eyes, especially for children.

On the other hand, the book offers a different kind of experience. It allows the reader to use their imagination and picture the scenes and characters in their own minds. The written words can paint a more detailed and nuanced picture, delving deeper into the emotions and thoughts of the characters. It also gives the reader the freedom to read at their own pace and explore the story at their leisure.

Both the cartoon and the book have their own unique charm and appeal. Whether you prefer the visual excitement of the cartoon or the imaginative journey of the book, they both offer an amazing and unforgettable experience.

Having recently delved into the enchanting world of "Heartless" by Melissa Meyer, my admiration for this petite volume has been elevated by an extra star.

It is a captivating blend of whimsy and nonsense, offering a truly delightful escape from the ordinary. The concept of being able to casually nibble on a bit of mushroom here and there to adjust one's size as required is not only charming but also highly imaginative.

As I explored the pages, I began to understand why this book is regarded as a classic and has withstood the test of time. Its unique charm, engaging narrative, and unforgettable characters make it a timeless piece of literature that continues to resonate with readers of all ages.

Whether you're looking for a lighthearted read or a magical adventure, "Heartless" is sure to satisfy.

I'm in my 20s, and I had never read this book or seen the Disney movie. But I've always heard references to the book, like "follow the white rabbit", "going down the rabbit hole", the Cheshire Cat and Cheshire grins, and the Mad Hatter. Now that Tim Burton is working on a movie, even more people will talk about it. So, I finally read it.

This book must consist of Carroll's drug-induced fantasies, or his ridiculous dreams, because this book is complete nonsense. There's no coherent plot to speak of, and the dialogue is just plain foolish, save for a few puns and plays on words. I simply can't imagine that any sane kid would take pleasure in reading or having this story read to them. I held out hope that perhaps it would all make sense at the end; that maybe there would be some sort of explanation that would make all the insanity forgivable. But alas, it was all in vain. It was a complete waste of time. Fortunately, it only took me 3 days to read, or I'd truly regret having squandered so much of my life on it.

I can't recommend strongly enough that you avoid reading this book! It's a pointless and frustrating read that offers little to no value.
