ما جعلني أصل لهذا الكتاب هو عملية البحث التي كنت أقوم بها لأجل تطوير دورة الميزانية .. شهرة الكتاب وانتشاره وموضوعه الخاص بالثقافة المالية جعلني أضعه على رف القراءة

الكتاب فعلاً اثبت استحقاقه للسمعة المشتهر بها، فاجئني بكونه كتاب قصصي وهذا يضيف للكتاب ميزة المتعة في قرائته، وهو ما تحقق فعلاً، إذ إني كنت أتجاوز في بعض الأحيان فترة الوقت المتاح لي للقراءة

القصص التي في الكتاب تتنوع شخوصها وتتنوع أحداثها بتنوع الموضوع الذي تتناوله القصة، الكتاب به عشر قصص وبه عشر دروس وإن تكرر المحتوى في بعضها وخصوصاً قاعدة ادخار 10% من المدخول الشهري

أتى الكتاب بلغة قديمة ... وأتت النصائح أيضاً بشكل قديم وبدائي وفيها الكثير من البساطة إلا إن فيها الكثير من العمق أيضاً للقارئ المتأمل المطلع على بعض قواعد الاقتصاد والتجارة

الكتاب رائع ... ملهم ... يفيض بالحكمة بين جنبيه حتى في المواضيع التي ليس لها علاقة مباشرة بالمال (أثارت بعض قبسات الكتاب التي نشرتها في حسابي بالإنستقرام انتباه المتابعين)، ولغته رغم قدمها إلا إنها سهلة وسلسة وجميلة

هذا الكتاب الشهير تم تأليفه في سنة 1926 بينما صدرت النسخة العربية منه في سنة 2012، إي بفارق زمني مقداره 86 سنة ... هذا قد يعطي مؤشر لسبب تراجع الثقافة المالية لدينا وبروزها أكثر لدى الغرب

في جميع القصص ... هناك خلاصة بارزة وهي:
إن النجاح المالي مرتبط بالمعرفة والحكمة والنباهة والمهارة والرجولة .... والخسارة والفقر مرتبط بالجهل والانفعال والعبودية

من الملاحظ أيضاً إن جميع قصص الكتاب أبطالها هم رجال ... المرأة تلعب أدوار ثانوية في مسألة التكسب والتجارة

هل أنصح به ؟
نعم بكل تأكيد، أنصح به ليكون كتاباً لبسط الثقافة المالية والتجارية لدى عموم الناس .. فلغته بسيطة، وقواعده واضحة، وبه الكثير الكثير من التحفيز غير المباشر وهذا سر استخدام الكاتب للأسلوب القصصي
الكتاب كفيل بأن يجعل الشخص الذي لا يعطي بالاً لأمور المالية بأن يعيد حساباته وتفكيره ... ولربما يكون سبباً في الدفع بأحدهم للدخول في عالم التجارة

این کتاب شامل مجموعه داستان کوتاه خیالی در رابطه با روش کسب و نگهداری ثروت در شهر بابل در هزاران سال پیش است ،روش هایی که در جامعه ی امروزی هم قابل استفاده اند
من تعریف این کتاب رو زیاد شنیده بودم ولی حقیقتا من رو زیاد راضی نکرد ، با اون همه تعریفی که ازش شنیده بودم انتظار کتاب بهتری رو داشتم.

The author shares invaluable lessons from the point of view of a very rich man named Arkad. Babylon was the wealthiest city in the ancient world and Arkad was the richest man living in that city and in this book Arkad shares his secrets and some easy to implement financial advices of becoming the richest man of Babylon.

Some of the base concepts from the book:
1. Pay yourself first (Save at least 10% of your paycheck)
2. Don't trust a bricklayer to buy jewels (Don't get caught up in other people's excitement. Go see the experts instead)
3. Don't put all of your eggs in a single basket (Diversify your portfolio).
4. Control thy expenses. (Even the richest man has a time constraint on his life. Do what you enjoy, but don't overdo it)
5. Increase your ability to earn (That one is self-explanatory)
etc.

This book serves as a guide of financial education for many generations to come.

The Richest Man in Babylon (1926) may not be as effective today as was in the Golden age, but a necessary read to set a mindset of the not-so-wise, like myself when it comes to personal finance. Clayson's use of a collection of parables on ancient Babylon makes this an easy read.

3. Make thy gold multiply
4. Guard thy treasures from loss
5. Make of thy dwelling a profitable investment

This is a great starting item for someone who is pressed for time and doesn't want to read a ton of financial books. While some of the ideas are archaically written, they remain timeless. An obvious one: as a person's wealth rises, so do their expenses.

Translation, if you want to have money, learn to discipline yourself now and not later. Studies show that most lottery winners are bankrupt within a few years and mostly because they lacked self discipline. Therefore, the problem is not the lack of money but how it is managed. Any accountant worth his salt will tell you that.

Keep in mind the story is set in ancient Babylon so if you want something more contemporary, while learning, try RICH DAD, POOR DAD by Robert Kiyosaki.

This tiny book is a classic. It is a classic because it tells you a classic story about the most important thing anybody should know about finance ie The Golden Rule of Saving.

The language is biblical yet so easy to understand. Excellent read.

This is a book of Babylonian themed stories originally available in leaflets, in banks and insurance companies of the 1920s, written by a businessman and author, living in Denver, Colorado (he was among those who suffered later in 1929). They were written as a guidance on saving, getting out of debt, and increasing wealth and property. The title story seems to have been the most popular of them.

The stories are interesting even as just stories of life in the city of Babylon, even if you don’t get much out of the advice. It was easy to read these stories quickly in just a few days. There is of course some repeat on these advices, but it doesn’t become annoying, and they are easy to understand. The last story concentrates most on the value of hard work getting one out of money troubles, which is at least partly sound idea.

For me I found these stories inspiring, even if just merely to save some money and budget what money I get. Also the wisdom of taking the chance on sound opportunities was worth noting. Of course there were more advices than these, but this is just what I wanted to make notes of.
The advice is not particularly deep, merely pushing the reader in the direction of the experts, but even this little was good advice, and the stories were entertaining, with some characters appearing in other stories (even as just persons of the past, or as ones whose writings are dug up in the 20th century). Worth checking out, in my opinion.

Some nice little tips, but don't be taken in by the misleading sales copy printed all over it. The Techniques are from the early 1900's and have no historical background to them. The grandiose language leads you in, and It can't rely on the advice itself, it needs parable-like stories to hook you.

A very sound book leaving you with a feeling that resembles having a genuine touch on the ancient wisdom.

There are several principles being suggested on the book regarding a wealthy path wrapped in story telling of wise men of that time.

Another interesting thing for me as someone who's native tongue is not english was an old form of the English that was being used long long ago.

I really enjoyed the book and would recommend to anyone who is determined to form her/his thoughts around shooting for the moon.

كتاب ممتع، استمتعت إليه عبر اليوتيوب... الكتاب بالكامل عبارة عن قصص متصلة منفصلة، عن أشخاص عاشوا في بابل و قصص نجاحاتهم التي تلت نكبات عصيبة حلت بهم، تمكنوا بذكاء من تسخيرها لتكون نقطة إنطلاق لحياة ناجحة مرفهة و سعيدة، ما عدا اخر بضعة دقائق التي كانت مديحاً مختصراً عن بابل القديمة.

الشيئين الوحيدين اللذين أخذهما على الكتاب، هما أولاً و كالعادة فكرة الرأسمالية الموجودة في معظم الكتب الغربية، و ثانياً الربوية "الربا" التي تتحدث عنها قصص الكتاب بأريحية، و فيما عداهما فالكتاب حقاً ممتع و ملئ بالنصائح البسيطة المفيدة.
