Actually, it is anti-Christian. It's not merely about not mentioning it or something of that sort. Instead, it is clearly opposed to how Christians believe. The central question of this book was regarding where we will go when we die. I was disappointed that she presented various possibilities but excluded anything related to Jesus or God. She even had one of the characters state that believing, essentially in the way Christians do, is incorrect.

I have truly relished these well-written books. I seem to have an almost affectionate connection with the cats as if I know them personally. Therefore, this was a rather disturbing aspect for me.

Also, after listening to the one before this and then this one, it made me wonder why she subjects Kit to so much suffering. I don't have a liking for that. It makes me question the author's intention and the message she is trying to convey through Kit's experiences.

The first time I delved into a Joe Grey mystery, I was intrigued to discover that three cats served as the unseen detectives.

It was a rather whimsical and amusing concept, with a touch of cleverness thrown in. The story had its moments that made me smile and kept me engaged throughout.

However, while it was a fun read, I don't envision myself picking up another book in the series. Nevertheless, it was definitely worth experiencing once.

The unique premise of cats as detectives added an element of charm and novelty to the mystery.

It was interesting to see how the author wove their actions and observations into the plot.

Overall, it was a lighthearted and enjoyable read that provided a brief escape into a world of feline detection.

"Not my cup of tea, or indeed my saucer of milk." This simple yet vivid expression neatly encapsulates the idea that something is not to one's taste or preference. It implies a sense of detachment and disinterest. It could refer to a wide variety of things, such as a particular food, a style of music, a hobby, or even a person. When we say this, we are essentially stating that the thing in question holds no appeal for us. It's as if we are looking at a cup of tea and a saucer of milk and simply shaking our heads, knowing that they are not what we desire. This phrase is a concise and effective way to convey our lack of enthusiasm or affinity for something.

This is the tenth installment of the Joe Gray, the talking cat, murder mystery series. I have a great affection for the first book in this series and am eager to read more. However, I violated a fundamental rule of mine with this book selection. It is the tenth book in the series, yet it is only the second one that I have read.

Regrettably, I felt that a significant amount of character introductions and actions that had occurred in the previous books were referenced in this one, but I was not fully aware of the background for this story. Likely due to this reason alone, I awarded this book 3 stars. Would I have enjoyed it more if I had read them in sequence? Well, since I liked the first book so much, I am inclined to give this book the benefit of the doubt.

The mystery in this book involves the murder of a beloved elderly movie star and the additional discovery of buried children's bones. Once again, the antics of the feline "talkers" led to the discovery of clues, which they relayed to the police by phone as "unknown snitches," ultimately leading to the uncovering of clues related to these intertwined murders. There was also a precocious 12-year-old girl who added a great deal of heart, intrigue, and thrills to this particular Joe Gray mystery.

I will definitely continue to read more Joe Gray mysteries, beginning with the second one - CAT UNDER FIRE. These are truly unique and captivating "cats' tales"!

This one is truly intense. It sent shivers down my spine and gave me chills.

The moment I experienced it, I could feel the power and intensity coursing through me.

It was as if a wave of energy had hit me, leaving me in a state of awe and excitement.

The atmosphere was charged, and every moment felt like a thrilling adventure.

I couldn't help but be drawn in by the intensity of it all.

It was a feeling that I will never forget, a moment that will stay with me forever.

The excitement and anticipation were palpable, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

This intense experience has left a lasting impression on me, and I can't wait to see what other thrilling adventures await.

I have a deep affection for cats, and I find this particular genre highly entertaining.

When a local celebrity meets a tragic end by being shot and killed, the cats immediately spring into action and take on the case. Only a chosen few are privy to the fact that Joe Grey, Dulcie, and Kit possess the remarkable ability to actually speak. Kit decides to follow the suspect but unfortunately finds herself trapped inside a house. Meanwhile, Dulcie stumbles upon a young girl named Laurie, who is living in a room in the basement of the library. Dulcie is sworn to secrecy, and Laurie is completely unaware that she can communicate. Joe Grey, on the other hand, is aware that Dulcie is keeping a secret and is rather annoyed that she isn't sharing her difficulties with him.

There is a mysterious man who has been lurking around the library, and one night, he seizes Laurie as she departs. Who could this man be? What is the connection between him and Laurie's father, who has been behaving so peculiarly that it led Laurie to run away in the first place? Will Laurie manage to escape and reach out to someone who can offer assistance?

All of these questions are addressed, and with the help of the feline detectives, the pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place. Obviously, the humans remain oblivious to the identity of the strange informants who call in with valuable tips. It makes for an enjoyable read that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I'm an absolute sucker when it comes to cat mysteries. I just can't resist the allure of books like Sneaky Pie and the Cat who...series. So, when I discovered this particular series, I was immediately hooked. This one happens to be Book 10.

Joe Grey, a dark colored cat with distinct white markings, teams up with Dulcie and Kit to solve mysteries. These feline sleuths have the ability to communicate with certain people. And whenever there's foul play afoot, they use their sharp senses to track down the bad guy and assist the police by being "snitches." Most of the police are only aware that there are two females and a male providing them with crucial leads on where to look.

Kit, the youngest of the trio, hears gunshots and stumbles upon the owner of the Inn, Patty Rose, who has been shot. The cat then follows the small man responsible for the killing. She gets trapped in his run-down house, but while there, she uncovers all sorts of valuable clues.

Meanwhile, Dulcie has been disappearing at night, which has Joe Grey quite upset. He suspects that she is seeing another cat. Finally, their argument reaches a boiling point, and she reveals to him the existence of a little girl living in the basement of the library.

The question remains: Are these two incidents related in some way? Through the combined efforts of the three cats, they manage to get to the bottom of the story.

I really enjoy this kind of story. It has a certain charm that makes it seem almost realistic, despite the fact that the cats can actually talk. And it's precisely this unique element that makes the book such a great read. I can't get enough of these types of stories.

I really liked this one. It was truly an engaging and enjoyable read. The story had me hooked from the very beginning. The characters were well-developed and the plot was full of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Definitely looking for another "Joe Grey" book next time I go back to the library. I can't wait to see what other adventures Joe Grey and his friends will embark on. I'm sure it will be just as exciting as this one.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery and adventure. It's a great read that will keep you entertained for hours. So, if you're looking for a good book to read, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed.

This tenth installment of the Joe Grey Mysteries is truly a remarkable one.

It showcases significant progress in various aspects, such as enhanced writing and more engaging storytelling.

The plot of "Cat Cross Their Graves" is highly complex, with multiple storylines intersecting not just once but several times.

The climax at the end is wonderfully satisfying, neatly tying up all the loose ends.

Kit, the sentient tortoiseshell cat, has finally found a home with Pedric and Lucinda Greenlaw. Their plans to live together were on hold until the Greenlaws returned from their west coast travels in their special RV.

When they reach Molena Point, California, they stay at a luxurious inn owned by Patty Rose. Kit enjoys spending time with her feline friends, Dulcie and Joe Grey, in the inn's bay window, taking in the view of the town.

However, the peace is shattered when Kit hears gunshots aimed at Patty and sees a small, thin man running away.

Kit is convinced it's Jack Reed but needs proof. Meanwhile, Dulcie is secretly helping Lori Reed, a 12-year-old who ran away from her father's locked-up home.

Lori is hiding in the library's basement, running out of food.

The senior ladies at their retirement home discover the bones of a child in their garden, leading to a series of investigations.

With so many questions unanswered, like what will happen to Lori, will Jack Reed change, and will the high tea still take place, the reader is left on the edge of their seat.

The exploration of what happens after death adds an extra layer of depth and philosophical intrigue to the story.

"Cat Cross their Graves" is an outstanding addition to the Joe Grey series, a captivating cozy mystery that I wholeheartedly recommend.

In the 10th Joe Grey mystery, Murphy delves deep into philosophical musings on death and the possibility of life after death at several junctures.

It truly makes one ponder what could be transpiring in her personal life to prompt such profound thoughts on the subject.

Nonetheless, the mystery itself is quite solid, albeit somewhat discomforting. The plot revolves around the heinous murder of several children for a completely insane reason, and there is also the element of child abuse by a father who is desperately attempting to safeguard his child from becoming yet another victim.

Even Kit, the newly adult cat, finds herself in mortal danger. The ending, too, is rather somber. It's not a cheery book by any means, nor is it Murphy's finest work. However, it's not her worst either. If you have a penchant for suspense and don't necessarily require a cheerful, sunny conclusion, then this book might be worth a read.
