The Lords received a rating of 5 stars. They truly stood out and impressed.

On the other hand, The New Creatures got a score of 3. This work had numerous strong aspects. There were elements within it that showed great promise and potential. However, often times, these potential elements didn't fully come together in a cohesive manner that I could easily follow.

It seemed as if there were great ideas scattered throughout, but they lacked the necessary connection and organization to create a truly seamless and engaging experience.

Despite this, The New Creatures still had its闪光点, and with some refinement and better integration of its various elements, it could potentially reach a higher level of quality and appeal.

Overall, while The Lords shone brightly with their 5-star rating, The New Creatures had areas that needed improvement to fully realize their potential.

I initially had the impression that I would have derived greater enjoyment from the first part of the book, titled "The Lords". However, as I delved into the second part, "The New Creatures", I realized my error. I had wrongly categorized them instead of perceiving both as integral components of a unified whole.

It has become evident that the more one rereads and pays closer attention, the more accessible it becomes to fathom what Morrison is attempting to convey. This work is truly a stroke of genius.

Her writing style is so intricate and nuanced that it demands multiple readings to fully appreciate the depth and complexity of her ideas. Each time I return to the text, I discover new layers of meaning and gain a deeper understanding of the themes she explores.

Morrison's ability to create such a vivid and engaging world is truly remarkable, and it is a testament to her skill as a writer. I look forward to continuing my exploration of this fascinating book and uncovering even more of its hidden treasures.

Nous ne présentons plus Jim Morrison.

He was an extraordinary artist, a maverick who defied conventions. In this collection, he lays bare his innermost thoughts, ideas, and the flashes of inspiration that coursed through him. Whether it's a simple phrase on a blank page, a poem with a song-like quality or in multiple parts, or a jumble of words scattered haphazardly on the paper, Jim Morrison offers a unique fusion of the senses and those fleeting moments that boiled within him.

The words pour out like a bitter spittle or soar in dreamlike flights. This collection represents an opening to fragments of the author's soul and the unfolding of a tortured conscience.

Despair, fatality, and a certain melancholy darkness color these pages, making this reading, presented in a bilingual edition (with the French translation done word for word), an atypical and vibrant experience. There is no need to analyze this work; it is meant to be felt.

I just discovered this 1970 edition at a thrift store for a mere dollar.

It features day-glo green pages and contains some tripper's handwritten notes within. I read this years ago, and it remains just as silly as I recall. Clearly, he self-published this. So arrogant that he believed he didn't require an editor.

Although it's dated, I think it still holds a modern charm for each generation.

I'm a fan - but as poetry, it functions much better with that badass Ray Manzarek Hammond in the background. Here's one of Jim's stand-alone lyrics that is as relevant today as it was in '68: (Imagine this: This one is on a lime green page with some illiterate scribbles from some 70's stoner kid.)

The soft parade has now commenced on Sunset.

Cars come thundering down the canyon.

Now is the time and the place.

The cars come rumbling.

"You got a cool machine."

These engine beasts, muttering their soft talk. A delight at night to hear their quiet voices again after 2 years.

Now the soft parade has soon begun.

Cool pools from a tired land sink now in the peace of evening.
