Life is a complex tapestry of events, often beyond our control. As the quote states, "But, I tell you, if one is born and one dies! To be born, Monsignor: did you want to be born? I did not." Birth is an event that occurs without our consent. We enter this world not by our own choosing. And then, between birth and death, a myriad of things happen. Many of these are things that we all wish had not occurred. We find ourselves in situations that are less than ideal, facing challenges and hardships that we would rather avoid. Yet, despite our reluctance, we often have to resign ourselves to these circumstances. We learn to adapt and move forward, even when the going gets tough. This highlights the powerlessness we sometimes feel in the face of life's events. But it also shows our resilience and ability to persevere. We may not be able to control everything that happens to us, but we can choose how we respond. We can either let the difficulties break us or use them as opportunities for growth and learning. So, while life may throw us curveballs, we have the strength within us to face them and come out stronger on the other side.
