The truth is that I have felt that it is one of his weakest books.

It is a well-told story but with a somewhat mediocre ending. I'm not a fan of open endings, and even less of this type that wants to leave you a message of "Hope" that gets lost among so much misery. I completely prefer the movie, I think it's a thousand times better.

And the integrated short stories are very good. Even better than "The Mist". The monkey is very terrifying and distressing, you read it super fast. And the other one is very nice and that's it.

This book had its moments, but overall, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The ending left me feeling a bit disappointed and unfulfilled. However, the short stories within it were a pleasant surprise and added some value to the overall reading experience. I still think the movie adaptation did a better job of capturing the essence and atmosphere of the story.
