I can always turn to this beloved adaptation of my favourite movie to give me such a big sense of comfort.

Over the years, I have re-read it countless times. I am a huge fan of horror anthologies, and this one truly stands out as one of the greatest.

Each tale within it has a great premise. However, my two absolute favourites are Father’s Day and The Crate. What makes this adaptation so remarkable is that it works incredibly well as both a comic and a movie. I adore both versions equally.

If you’re a fan of Stephen King, or have seen the movie but not read the comic as so many people tell me, then you absolutely must give it a try. The illustrations in the comic are utter perfection. They bring the stories to life in a way that words alone could never achieve.

Whether you’re looking for a thrilling read or a visual treat, this adaptation has something for everyone. It’s a must-have for any horror enthusiast or Stephen King fan.

I am a huge enthusiast of graphic novels and comics, not only as an art form but also as a literary genre. Some of my all-time favorites include Fables by Bill Willingham, and the Criminal and Fatale series by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, just to name a few.

I am also a constant reader and a big fan of Stephen King. So, one would think that the comic Creepshow, written by King and with artwork by Berni Wrightson, would be an absolute hit, a perfect ten, a five-star review, right?

Well, it's not.

Not at all.

In fact, it was actually a bit disappointing.

I haven't seen the movie Creepshow, but I'm not sure that really matters.

The comic is rather poorly written. For example, in one scene, a character is being devoured alive by a monster, and the dialogue goes something like this: "Ah, oh no, it's biting me. It hurts. It's biting me." I've never witnessed someone being eaten alive by a monster, but if I did, I'm quite certain they wouldn't be providing a running commentary on it.

Steve: Jim? Are you okay?

Jim: No, Steve. I'm being eaten by an ancient creature. It's chewing my face as we speak.

Steve: That sounds pretty shitty, Jim. Is there something I can do?

Jim: Ah, it hurts!

Steve: I'm sure it does.

Jim: It's eating my face! Ah!!

Don't get me wrong, I can see what this comic is trying to do. It's a homage to the great pulp horror comics of the past. The art by Berni is outstanding. The actual plots of the stories are really cool. But the dialogue is just terrible.

Moreover, it's all way too short.

I've seen many reviewers claim that this project seems like a quick cash grab, and unfortunately, I have to agree.

I give it a 3/5 for the great artwork and the actual concept.

If you're longing for a tribute to the pulp horror comics of yesteryear, you'd be better off reading the real thing, like Doctor of Horror with artwork by Graham Ingels.

Show of horror, show of fears: http://knigolandia.info/book-review/s...

"The Father's Day" starts the entertainment. A secret from the past will come to light and will seize the present, demanding its share on the occasion of the holiday. "The Lonely Death of Jordi Veril" leads to a lonely house, near which something falls from the sky - and touching it is definitely not the best idea in the world. "The Chest" contains long-imprisoned evil that must stay there, but... this is a wish that will not come true. "Something to Keep You Alive" is a dark story of revenge that leads only to the same dish, served cold. And finally, for dessert, "They Creep on You", which, as you can sense, is related to creepy crawlers everywhere - and nowhere - lurking.

Creepshow is a movie that I will have to watch now. I don't think I've ever seen it before, but it does remind me of Tales from the Crypt.

I'll show you the first page so you can see what I mean. \\"Image

The “Creep” in Creepshow reminds me of the “Cryptkeeper” in Tales from the Crypt. \\"Image

The first story, “Bring me my CAKE! Bedelia” for Father’s Day, is about a family with a horrible secret that comes back for Cake. It was a pretty twisted tale.

The second story, “The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill”, is actually kind of funny. Jordy is a not-too-smart farmer who finds a meteorite on his land. He plans to sell it to the university, but something green and weedy and mossy gets in the way.

The third story, “The Crate”, involves a janitor who finds a crate hidden in a vent at a university. He asks a professor who is being heckled by his wife to come see it. The professor gets an idea after seeing the janitor's surprise upon opening the crate and puts a plan into action for his wife and the mess.

The fourth story, “Something to Tide You Over”, is really weird. A rich guy finds out his wife was cheating on him and decides to torture and kill both her and the other man in a strange way. But it comes back to haunt him.

The fifth story can be summed up in one word: Cockroaches.

Enjoy!

This is just pure fun.

I truly wish he would write some more of these.

Creepshow is a wonderful throwback to the horror comics of the 1950's.

In this era of Trump, with the often depressing daily news bombarding us, we desperately need more stuff like this.

It provides a much-needed escape from the real world and its troubles.

The vivid and imaginative stories in Creepshow have the power to transport us to a different realm, filled with thrills and chills.

We can lose ourselves in the pages and forget about the chaos and stress for a while.

It's a form of entertainment that not only scares us but also brings a sense of excitement and enjoyment.

So, here's hoping for more installments of Creepshow to keep us entertained and give us a break from the daily grind.

4.5 Stars.

Check out the cool cover art, horror lovers!

This creepy graphic comic book is based on the 1982 horror anthology and cult classic film Night of the Living Dead. It offers us five wonderfully dark and sinister stories. Let me just say a few words about each, without spoiling your creepy fun!

No. 1: Father's Day (5 Stars) ~~~ Do you happen to like decorated birthday cakes to celebrate this special day? Well, I'd pass on this one. Hehehe or should I say clakclakclak!

No. 2: The Lonesome Death Of Jordy Verrill (4.Stars) ~~~ Something very creepy and very green comes from out of the sky here. DO. NOT. TOUCH!

No. 3: The Crate (5 Stars) ~~~. Okay, you can go down to the basement, but just stay away from the box. Unless, of course, your name is WILMAAAAA!

No. 4: Something To Tide You Over (5 Stars) ~~~ Yikes! Cruel and unusual punishment, you bet! But be wary, or you might just end up at the beach!

No. 5: They're Creeping Up On You (4 Stars) ~~~ Yep! Bugs, lots of bugs, and an old bugger too. Ewww. They CAN hide anywhere!

OMGOSH, I love THE CREEP narrator, the super creepy graphics, and the final words of No. 5, "Casablechha". AND, of course, Stephen King! How fun! It's a great collection. Creep.Creep..Creepy...

P.S. I'm looking forward to the movie, which is on its way. I hope I can stomach No. 5. And one final note: Check out E. Lorn's review. I had the same problem with my Amazon order of this book. I returned the first one because the red ink was missing all down the binding. They sent another, which was much better, but not perfect. I called again, and they refunded my money and told me to keep it.

This was the only S.K. book that I didn't possess.

I received it in the mail today.

I already have the movie and I absolutely love it.

This graphic novel turned out to be just as excellent.

The moment I saw it in the mailbox, my heart skipped a beat.

I couldn't wait to open it and start reading.

As I flipped through the pages, I was immediately drawn into the story.

The illustrations were vivid and brought the characters and scenes to life.

It was like experiencing the story in a whole new way.

Even though I was familiar with the movie, the graphic novel added a new dimension to it.

I could see the details that might have been missed in the movie.

I'm so glad I finally got my hands on this book.

It's going to be a great addition to my collection.

Perfectly ridiculous, yet wonderfully simple fun. This particular thing holds one or two differences from the movie. It's quite interesting to note these disparities. Additionally, there are a good many differences between the story WEEDS and the segment THE LONESOME DEATH OF JORDY VERRILL. These differences add an extra layer of complexity and intrigue. It makes one wonder how and why these variations came about. Perhaps it's due to different interpretations, or maybe there were specific creative decisions made along the way. Either way, it's fascinating to explore and compare these various elements. It shows that even within a similar context, there can be significant divergences that make each version unique and值得欣赏.

This book is rather short, consisting of less than 80 pages. In fact, it only has a mere 66 pages, which is below the cut-off line for a book to be included on my all-time book list. To be honest, I don't really consider this to be a proper book at all. As a result, it gets a written review instead of a video review.

It is a graphic novel that is based on Stephen King’s screenplay for the movie Creepshow. However, the movie is significantly better than this book. The five stories in the book are much shorter and lack the detail present in the film. Some changes have also been made, most notably in the story “They’re Creeping Up on You”.

The book is striving to mimic the old school horror comics of the ‘50s and ‘60s, and in that regard, it meets its goal. It doesn't require much depth to be entertaining. However, when compared to the newer graphic novels based on King’s work, such as The Dark Tower and The Stand, this book pales in comparison. But then again, those series had much more to work with from the start.

Overall, it is a must-read for King fans. Personally, I thought the stories ranked from best to worst in the following order: 1. Crate, 2. Father’s Day, 3. Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill, 4. They’re Creeping Up on You, 5. Something to Tide You Over. I would rate it 4 out of 5.
