Now, THIS truly had an amazing story lurking behind it.

What a remarkable yet illegal means to persuade people to break their habits! Smoking is indeed a widespread epidemic, and these practical-minded individuals have hit the nail on the head when it comes to effectively liberating their clients from that vice.

I can vividly envision the plot of this short story being expanded and developed into a full-fledged thriller feature film or an extensive novel.

The potential for drama, mystery, and excitement is palpable.

One could explore the motives and backgrounds of the pragmatists, the challenges they face in implementing their unorthodox methods, and the consequences that unfold as a result.

The story could take unexpected twists and turns, keeping the audience or readers on the edge of their seats.

It would be a captivating exploration of human nature, addiction, and the lengths people will go to in order to make a difference.

This piece was read as part of the collection "Night Shift". It was most probably written back in 2008, after April 22.

The year 2008 was a significant one, filled with various events and changes. It was a time when the world was evolving in different aspects.

The collection "Night Shift" might have captured the essence of that era, perhaps through the eyes of the author or the characters within the stories.

Reading this piece now, in 2019, gives us a chance to look back and reflect on the past. It allows us to see how things have changed or remained the same over the years.

It also makes us wonder about the experiences and emotions that led to the creation of this work. What was the inspiration behind it? What were the author's intentions?

As we continue to explore the collection, we may uncover more answers and gain a deeper understanding of the world that existed in 2008 and how it has influenced our present.

This was a really quick and easy listen that I happened to use to kill a little time while I was driving on a road trip.

As I was cruising along the highway, the miles seemed to pass by rather slowly. That's when I decided to put on this audio. It was the perfect choice as it didn't require a lot of concentration.

The content was engaging enough to keep my mind occupied, but not so complex that it would distract me from the road. I found myself enjoying the simple pleasure of listening to it.

Before I knew it, I had covered a significant portion of my journey and the time had passed quite pleasantly. It was a great way to make the drive a little more enjoyable and to pass the time in a relaxed manner.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this quick and easy listen to anyone who is looking for something to do while on a road trip.

This is one of the four stories in Night Shift that I was most looking forward to.

The others being \\"The Mangler,\\" \\"Trucks,\\" and \\"Children of the Corn.\\" And this one truly delivered.

The \\"Quitters, Inc.\\" segment of Cat's Eye has always been my favorite due to its ridiculousness. Basically, a guy unknowingly hires the mob to help him quit smoking, and their tactics are in the category of \\"strong arming.\\"

One thing missing from the story is the party scene where Dick is desperate for a cigarette fix and starts seeing all kinds of psychedelic cigarette-related things.

I've been smoke-free for six and a half years, but I used Chantix which gave me some great dreams. I'm glad I didn't have to consult this crew as they also monitor your weight. If you gain too much, unpleasant things happen to your loved ones. I gained 80 pounds in the first six years, 30 of them in the first month alone! (I've since lost 50 in the past six months).

I quit for several reasons. Money was a major factor as I was unemployed at the time. Health was also a part of it, especially with all the chemicals in cigarettes nowadays. Another big reason was to get the anti-smoking crowd to shut up. They would always link any ailment I had back to smoking, even a hangnail.

The anti-cigarette campaign in society actually has the opposite effect on me. Every time I see a truth.com commercial, I consider picking up the habit again out of spite. However, I know I should work on my bitterness. At least the warnings on Canadian cigarette packages make me laugh.

In conclusion, I thought the story was awesome and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good yarn with some slight terror elements.

Stephen King is a renowned author who has penned over 200 short stories, and this particular one was my very first encounter with his work.

Growing up, there was a menacing big dog named Cujo on my block, and it was Stephen King's vivid and terrifying imagination that made me deathly afraid of him. This man's creativity knows no bounds!

If such adaptations don't already exist, it would be a great idea for someone to bring his short stories to life in the form of short films. I'm determined to explore some of his collections and make it an annual October tradition to read one.

I guess I also have to give credit to Stephen King for the widespread fear of clowns among both kids and adults.

I'm also planning to look into his memoir as I'm extremely curious to understand how his brilliant brain functions, how long it takes him to write, how his ideas materialize, and how he discerns whether a story will be a short story or a novel.

I will most likely read more of his works... but only when my kids aren't around!

Awesome short story. I really loved it a great deal. This was even quite unsettling for a non-smoker like myself.

Love truly is stronger than addiction, but does the end result always justify the means to reach it? I seriously have no idea.

There is a personal experience regarding smoking below in the spoiler tag.

I listened to the audio book during my run today. It was an extremely captivating and, at the same time, a great anxiety-inducing story. The narrator's voice added an extra layer of intensity to the plot, making it feel as if I was right there in the middle of all the action. As I ran, my heart pounded not only from the physical exertion but also from the anticipation and紧张 that the story was generating. The story had so many twists and turns that I found myself constantly on the edge of my seat, or rather, on the edge of my running path. It was a truly immersive experience that made my run pass by in a flash. I can't wait to listen to the next part of the audio book and see how the story unfolds.

This should count as a reread, because I have definitely read this story before. However, listening to it for a second time, I still enjoyed it just the same.

It is definitely one of my favorite short stories that King has ever written. The story has a unique charm that keeps pulling me in. The characters are well-developed and the plot is engaging. It has a way of making me feel as if I am right there in the middle of the action.

King's writing style is also a big part of what makes this story so great. His use of descriptive language and vivid imagery helps to bring the story to life. I can easily picture the scenes and the emotions of the characters.

Overall, this is a short story that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good read. It is a classic that will stand the test of time and continue to be enjoyed by readers for years to come.

I've read this a long time ago.

It was clearly personal to Mr. King, and the vivid images he presented stayed with me for a very long time.

In fact, unlike many of his other titles, in this one, I knew exactly what the story was all about and what had happened.

If you have a penchant for experiencing discomfort, then this is a tense and graphic read that delves into the difficult process of forcing oneself to quit smoking.

It explores the inner turmoil, the cravings, and the determination that one has to go through when trying to break this habit.

The details are so vivid that it makes you feel as if you are right there with the protagonist, experiencing all the emotions and challenges.

It's a powerful piece that not only tells a story but also makes you think about the struggles that people face when trying to make a positive change in their lives.

No one does creepy better than Stephen King.

How far would you be willing to go in order to give up an addiction?

What takes place when the stakes are raised to such an extent that there is absolutely no other option but to quit?

Are you prepared to confront the consequences that result from your lack of commitment to a cause?

Initially, I was not a huge enthusiast of the type of horror that Stephen King writes. However, he managed to draw me in eventually.

It's as if I despise the man for penning such gruesome tales and yet love him for the kind of influence he has on his readers, myself included. His masterful narration sucks you in when you least anticipate it and suddenly you find yourself under his spell, powerless to break free of your own accord. Stephen King books are dark, gloomy, depressing and every shade of grisly imaginable. King has the uncanny knack of infiltrating the furthest recesses of your mind, where your most fundamental fears lie dormant. And then he prods and pokes at them until they awaken and raise their seemingly harmless heads, transforming into menacing monsters that threaten to consume you entirely. That is precisely what his works do to me, at least.

"Quitter's Inc" is no exception. It is a short story, but the impact it creates is no less terrifying than that of any of the standard Stephen King novels. And aside from the horror aspect, it conveys a very powerful message regarding addiction, the importance of quitting and having the strength to choose what is beneficial for you.

'Cause if you don't quit, God help you! *sinister smile*
