I have read this one twice so far.

It is truly one of my absolute favorite books by MCammon.

The story within its pages has a certain allure that keeps drawing me back.

MCammon has a remarkable way of creating characters that feel so real and vivid.

The plot is engaging and full of twists and turns that keep me on the edge of my seat.

Every time I pick up this book, I am immediately transported into the world that MCammon has crafted.

It's a world that I don't want to leave.

The writing style is smooth and captivating, making it a pleasure to read.

I can't wait to see what other masterpieces MCammon will come up with in the future.

This book will always hold a special place in my heart as one of my top favorites.

I’m not entirely certain if my expectations were elevated before delving into this book simply because it was a Bram Stoker award winner. However, to be honest, many aspects of it didn't quite resonate with me.

The pacing of the book was decent up until the car chase scene. Regrettably, that particular sequence seemed overly long and, in my opinion, added little to the overall narrative. I find myself in agreement with other reviewers who have suggested that it could have been omitted without any significant loss. The repeated pattern of the characters meeting up and then getting away became rather tiresome, and I found myself eagerly anticipating the end.

Moreover, I also have the feeling that the various situations in which the baby was placed were such that they would likely have caused severe injury or even death. The fact that he emerged unscathed each time felt rather unrealistic. This occurred so frequently throughout the story, and given the length of the book, by the end, I had lost much of my concern for what might happen to him and the other characters involved.

The conclusion wasn't too糟糕, but the slower portions of the narrative detracted from any sense of satisfaction that one might otherwise have felt. You're just relieved that she doesn't get back into a car.

I have been an extremely passionate McCammon fan for a great number of years.

However, I must be completely honest when I state that upon finishing reading this book, I was left with a sense of "It could have been better if...".

This is indeed a very good psychological terror ride, yet the author seemed to hold back to some extent.

I constantly had the impression that a door was just slightly closed in front of me.

I felt as if I was being toyed with by the author, which is a feeling I have never had with any of McCammon's other books.

It's a bit disappointing because I had such high expectations, but perhaps there were reasons for the author's choices that I am not fully aware of.

Nevertheless, I still appreciate the overall experience and look forward to seeing what McCammon has in store for us in the future.

What a wild ride it has been! I absolutely loved this book. It is filled with so many twists and turns that it had me completely engaged from the very beginning all the way to the end.

It is truly one of my favorites. You will not be disappointed if you pick it up. The author has done an amazing job of creating a story that is both thrilling and captivating.

Every page turn brought a new surprise, and I found myself unable to put the book down. Whether you are a fan of mystery, adventure, or just a good story, this book has something for everyone.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great read that will keep them on the edge of their seat.

The most bats**t crazy villain I’ve ran across in a long time.

This particular villain was truly one of a kind. Their actions were completely unpredictable and their motives were shrouded in mystery.

They seemed to have no regard for the lives of others and would stop at nothing to achieve their goals.

Their methods were often violent and cruel, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

It was as if they were operating under some sort of deranged logic that only they could understand.

Encountering this villain was an experience that I will never forget, and it served as a reminder of the truly evil and unpredictable nature of some people.

Mine is a rather distinct McCammon book compared to what I'm accustomed to.

Boy's Life and Swan Song are among my all-time favorite books. They possess a certain charm and depth that is truly captivating.

However, Mine takes a different approach. It is more of a straightforward horror thrill ride.

From the very beginning, it grabs your attention and doesn't let go. The story unfolds with a sense of urgency and excitement, keeping you on the edge of your seat.

The characters are well-developed, and you can't help but become invested in their fates.

The horror elements are vividly described, making your heart race and your skin crawl.

If you're a fan of horror and looking for a quick, intense read, Mine is definitely worth checking out. It offers a different side of McCammon's writing that is equally as engaging and thrilling.

Mine is an absolutely amazing book penned by the talented author Robert Mccammon. Just as it is written on the cover, "A Novel Of Terror", one must be prepared to be truly terrorized!! Right from the very first chapter, you will find yourself asking, "WTF am I reading?" There are some really difficult-to-read passages within it, yet always presented in McCammon's premium writing style. This novel clearly ranks among my top 3 best reads of 2021! It is a truly remarkable piece of work that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The vivid descriptions and intense plot make it a must-read for any lover of the horror genre. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is a solid 5 stars without a doubt!!!

Wow! This book is an absolute whirlwind of excitement. It seizes you firmly by the throat and holds on with an iron grip until you reach the very last sentence on the final page.

The opening scene is truly disturbing and devastating. It sets the tone for the entire book, which is filled with extremely graphic and intense scenes. Mary Terror, the villain, is a truly frightening and psychopathic character. She will stop at nothing to achieve her goals, and her actions keep you on the edge of your seat. I found myself both hating and being fascinated by her.

Laura, on the other hand, is a strong, resourceful, and resilient protagonist. She is also willing to go to great lengths to get what she wants. The author does an excellent job of making us care about her. We are right there with her, feeling every emotion she experiences and going through every trial and tribulation.

This book was an absolute joy to read. It was action-packed and emotion-charged from start to finish. I couldn't put it down, constantly turning the pages in anticipation of what was going to happen next. I can't wait to read more from this author and would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling and engaging story.

Oh my goodness, this was extremely intense. I had to put the book down numerous times during the reading process.
The story begins with a former hippie who has turned into a terrorist and kidnaps a newborn child.
The real mother, of course, is desperate to get her child back.
As a result, chaos ensues. The mother's frantic search for her child leads to a series of events that are both thrilling and heart-wrenching.
The reader is left on the edge of their seat, wondering if the mother will ever be reunited with her child and what will happen to the kidnapper.
This book is a real page-turner and I can't wait to see how it all ends.

This was a bit of a monster to get through, but I'm really glad I did.

The opening chapter had me locked in immediately. What I really love about this book is its portrayal of women. The cat and mouse game between Laura and Mary got a bit tedious at times, but that final act was completely worth it!!!

Laura, the relentless mother, is a goddamn hero. She head-butted Mary, the terror, right in the face. But then Mary threw her through a wall by her legs?????? There was also a shootout at a dinosaur garden????? It had a very Midwest core feel to it, and sac was even mentioned!!!

Also, Mary is a real representation of an evil woman. Both Laura and Mary were manipulated by mediocre men to varying degrees. It's interesting how they were mirrors of each other in so many ways. They were each other's worst fears, but in their pursuit, they kind of became each other.

The fight scene at the end was absolutely feral, and throughout the whole book, these women really went at it. They were truly on sight. Mostly, I just felt awful for poor little David the whole time, but we love a happy ending. Five stars!!!!!

The book I just finished reading wasn't all that great of a read.

From the very beginning, it failed to capture my attention. The plot seemed rather平淡 and predictable, lacking the excitement and twists that would have made it truly engaging.

The characters also didn't leave much of an impression. They felt one-dimensional and lacked depth, making it difficult for me to truly care about their fates.

Moreover, the writing style was rather dry and uninteresting. The author's use of language was simplistic and didn't add any flavor or nuance to the story.

In conclusion, I can't say that I would recommend this book to others. It simply didn't meet my expectations and left me feeling disappointed.

Perhaps if the author had put more effort into developing the plot, characters, and writing style, it could have been a much better read. But as it stands, it's just an average book that I'm glad to have finished.

Was this book perfect? The answer is an absolute no. There were certain parts within it that were so outrageously far-fetched that it bordered on the ridiculous. However, do I care about those flaws? Not one single bit. You see, I was completely engrossed in every single minute of this thrilling read. It had me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages with anticipation. The story was so captivating that I couldn't put it down. And because of this, I will unhesitatingly recommend it to everyone I know. Whether they are avid readers or just looking for a good escape, this book has something for everyone. It may not be perfect, but it sure is a wild ride that I highly recommend.
