Ugh. No. This is just too disturbing.

It makes me feel extremely uncomfortable and uneasy.

The very thought of it sends shivers down my spine.

I can't seem to get it out of my mind.

It's like a bad dream that keeps recurring.

I don't know how to deal with this kind of disturbing situation.

Every time I think about it, my heart starts to race.

I wish there was a way to make it all go away.

But unfortunately, it seems to be here to stay for now.

I guess I'll just have to try to find a way to cope with it and move on.

Maybe talking to someone about it will help.

But for now, all I can do is try to push it to the back of my mind and hope that it doesn't resurface too often.

Robert McCammon never fails to deliver.

He ventures into uncharted territory with this thrilling piece. It is a story that revolves around two women from vastly different walks of life.

There is Mary Terrell, also known as Mary Terror, a truly despicable character who can give Annie Wilkes from "Misery" a run for her money.

And then there is Laura, an ordinary housewife who undergoes a complete transformation by the end of the book after Mary enters her life and unleashes chaos.

McCammon masterfully keeps the plot flowing at a brisk pace, steadily ratcheting up the tension as the story progresses.

I'm extremely glad to have made this book my own.

It's a captivating read that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

The vivid descriptions and well-developed characters make it a truly engaging and unforgettable experience.

Whether you're a fan of thrillers or just looking for a good read, this book is definitely worth checking out.

The characters he creates are vivid and relatable, making it easy for the reader to become invested in their lives and experiences. The plot is full of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat, never knowing what's going to happen next. Whether it's a thrilling adventure, a heartwarming romance, or a thought-provoking mystery, Mccammon has the talent to bring it to life on the page. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

"You dig it?" - Full review to come

Here is my full review. This is my third McCammon book and unfortunately, it's my least favorite. I firmly believe that this book was way too long. Mary, who is a complete lunatic, gets this crazy idea into her head to steal a real baby and take it to her "leader" and former lover in a strange cult-like gang they used to be part of, thinking that life will somehow return to normal.

The opening of this book is absolutely insane! It truly shocked me. This Mary character is not someone to be trifled with. She is genuinely crazy, and the characterization of her alone is brilliant. She is so complex and so well-developed that I think I actually enjoyed reading about her the most, along with her thoughts and feelings, because they are just so outrageously crazy.

I can't remember the mother's name, but the love and dedication she has for her child is remarkable. I suspect that maybe this is why the book is so long, as it tries to fit in all the characterizations. However, I get tired of hearing about the characters taking showers and changing clothes. I mean, I do care to some extent, but after reading about it a few times, I just want to get back to the more essential and exciting stuff.
Overall, it is a good story, but it's just not my favorite by him.

It's not difficult to understand how Robert McCammon ultimately felt a strong inclination towards writing historical fiction.

This work is not merely a cross-country thriller; rather, it serves as a profound treatise on those who were embroiled in the tumultuous sixties.

There were those who had lofty dreams and aspirations of freedom, and there were also those who were caught up in the often-violent radicalism of that era.

It delves into how they felt adrift in the consumerism and materialism that prevailed in the late eighties and early nineties.

In the hands of anyone else, the essence of this might have been overshadowed by the violence in "Mary Terror." However, as always, Robert McCammon rises above with his astute and incisive understanding of human nature.

His ability to penetrate the depths of the human psyche and bring to life the complex emotions and experiences of his characters is truly remarkable.

It is this unique talent that makes his historical fiction not only engaging but also deeply thought-provoking.

Readers are drawn into a world that is both familiar and yet充满了 surprises, as McCammon weaves a tale that explores the human condition in all its glory and complexity.

His works serve as a reminder of the power of literature to capture the essence of a particular time and place and to make us reflect on our own lives and the world around us.

It's not just a book; it's an experience. One that will have you completely engrossed from start to finish, unable to put it down for even a moment. So, if you're looking for a read that will truly get your heart racing and keep you on the edge of your seat, then look no further than this amazing book.

Robert McCammon has once again proven himself to be a master of horror.

This book is not just scary because of the villain, Mary Terroll, with her apprehensive and unpredictable nature.

The horror lies in the very situation itself, which feels almost too real.

It seems to be a reference to a series of events that have actually occurred, adding an extra layer of authenticity and unease.

There were parts of this book that made me extremely uncomfortable.

Mary Terroll's character is truly sick in the head, and her actions and thoughts are disturbing to read about.

However, despite the discomfort, I couldn't put the book down.

The story was so engaging and well-written that I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good horror story.

A full discussion on this book will take place on the YouTube channel, so be sure to check it out.

I would rate this book a 9/10 for its ability to terrify and captivate.

What do you call a person with a psychopathic nature who is still living the dream of her radical days in the '60's? Well, it's an amazon-like woman named Mary Terror.

McCammon has masterfully crafted one of the most believable human monsters. After kidnapping a newborn, Mary truly believes that the child is hers.

Enter Laura, the new mother. She discovers just what a mother will do to protect her child. In this case, Laura is determined to get her baby back from Mary before Mary completely loses her mind.

This thrilling story is a non-stop roller coaster of action and suspense. The writing is so good that it keeps the reader on the edge of their seat from start to finish. It's a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers.

The sales of Robert, the sales...

I had not read a drama/action/horror book in which the main characters were women... and those women, starting from Laura, who evolves from a silly wife to a force of nature, Bedelia, like a former terrorist who takes up arms, and Mary... oh Mary, what a great character, a fearsome villain, a villain who would give the Joker nightmares.

P.S. A couple of the best car chases since CHRISTINE.

This story seems to offer a unique perspective with its female-dominated cast in the realm of drama, action, and horror. Laura's transformation is particularly interesting, as she breaks free from the stereotype of a simple-minded wife and emerges as a powerful entity. Bedelia's background as a former terrorist adds an element of danger and complexity to the plot. And Mary, with her terrifying villainy, stands out as a character who could rival even the infamous Joker.

Additionally, the mention of the car chases being on par with those in CHRISTINE suggests that the story is not lacking in excitement and thrills. Overall, it sounds like a book that would appeal to fans of the genre who are looking for something fresh and engaging.

This is just another remarkable addition to the extensive list of solid books penned by Robert McCammon. His track record in the literary world is truly outstanding, as he always manages to deliver engaging and thought-provoking stories that captivate readers from start to finish.

When it comes to the concept of "delivering," it takes on a whole new meaning in a different context. For instance, if you are expecting a baby in the near future, it might be advisable to steer clear of this particular book. The reason for this is that the content and themes within the story could potentially be a bit too intense or inappropriate for someone in such a delicate and joyous stage of life.

However, for those who are not in the situation of expecting a baby and are simply looking for a great read, this book by Robert McCammon is sure to satisfy. It offers a unique and thrilling experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you eagerly anticipating his next work.

I just completed "Mine" by Robert McCammon as a part of my multi-year endeavor to read all the Bram Stoker Awards for Superior Achievement books. (I'm currently at 24 out of 37.)

"Mine" was the winner in 1990. It was an astonishing psychological horror read. The characters were extremely well developed, and the storyline was a masterfully written psychological horror tale, with a tone similar to that of "Misery". I simply cannot convey how rapidly this story drew me in.

All the characters were crafted with great care. Mr. McCammon wrote them in such a way that I initially felt sympathy for every single one of them, even for Mary Terror. However, then came the scene with the stove eye. This particular scene had a profound impact and completely changed the dynamic. It added an element of intense horror and unease, making the story even more captivating.

The way McCammon builds the tension and develops the characters is truly remarkable. It keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, constantly wondering what will happen next. "Mine" is definitely a must-read for any fan of psychological horror.
